Claims (17)
- 1.車両区画フィルター等として使用するための多孔性のガスフィルターであっ て、該フィルターは一体化された成形体の形をしており、該フィルター体は、約 15メッシュ以上の平均粒径を有する凝集物粒子へと融合した吸着剤粒子および 粒状の熱可塑性バインダー粒子を含んでなり、該バインダー粒子は該吸着剤粒子 より小さい平均粒径を有し、該成形されたフィルター体へと融合された該凝集物 は該凝集物の間に開放された隙間を有する多孔性フィルター。
- 2.車両区画フィルター等として使用するための多孔性のフィルター装置であっ て、該フィルターは成形体の形をしており、該車両フィルター装置は、該成形さ れたフィルター体と流体連絡している空気移動手段、該成形したフィルター体用 フィルターハウジングを含んでなり、該成形されたフィルターは、約15メッシ ュ以上の平均粒径を有する凝集物粒子へと融合した吸着剤粒子および粒状の熱可 塑性バインダー粒子を含んでなり、該バインダー粒子は該吸着剤粒子より小さい 平均粒径を有し、該成形されたフィルター体へと融合された該凝集物は該凝集物 の間に開放された隙間を有するフィルター装置。
- 3.吸着剤粒子が約100メッシュ以上の平均粒径を有し、バインダー粒子の平 均サイズが吸着剤粒子の平均サイズの20%以下である、請求の範囲第1項また は第2項に記載の多孔性フィルター。
- 4.吸着剤粒子が70メッシュ以上の平均粒径を有する請求の範囲第3項に記載 の多孔性フィルター。
- 5.成形体が2つの対向する面を有し、該2つの面の間の標準的な8.89mm 厚みを横切る圧力損失が、30m3/時間の空気流量および77cm2の表面積 で49パスカル以下である請求の範囲第4項に記載の多孔性フィルター。
- 6.吸着剤粒子が炭素の顆粒を含んでなる請求の範囲第1〜5項のいずれかに記 載の多孔性フィルター。
- 7.初期のトルエン除去効率が、空気流量30m3/時間および表面積77cm 2で、8.89mmの厚みのフィルターについて約98パスカル未満の圧力損失 で、吸着剤粒子の凝集なしに成形された相当する多孔性フィルターの除去効率の 少なくとも75%である請求の範囲第6項に記載の多孔性フィルター。
- 8.初期のトルエン除去効率が、空気流量30m3/時間および表面積77cm 2で、8.9mmの厚みのフィルターについて約147パスカル未満の圧力損失 で、吸着剤粒子の凝集なしに形成された相当する多孔性フィルターの除去効率の 少なくとも90%である請求の範囲第6項に記載の多孔性フィルター。
- 9.成形されたフィルター体が少なくとも一つの輪郭面を有する請求の範囲1〜 8項のいずれかに記載の多孔性フィルター。
- 10.成形されたフィルター体が2つの対向する輪郭面を有する請求の範囲第9 項に記載の多孔性フィルター。
- 11.輪郭面のそれぞれが、ジグザグ形の連続した交互のピークおよび谷であり 、一つの面のピークは対向する輪郭面の谷に直接対向している請求の範囲第10 項に記載の多孔性フィルター。
- 12.吸着剤粒子を熱可塑性バインダー粒子の軟化点以上の温度に加熱し、該加 熱した吸着剤粒子を該熱可塑性バインダー粒子と混合し(熱可塑性バインダー粒 子は吸着剤粒子の平均サイズより少なくとも20%小さい平均サイズを有する。 )、該吸着剤粒子とバインダー粒子を約15メッシュより小さい平均サイズを有 する凝集物に凝集させ、該凝集物を所定の形に形成し、そして該凝集物を、該熱 可塑性バインダーの軟化点以上の均一な温度まで加熱して、融合されたフィルタ ー体を形成する、ことを含んでなる多孔性フィルター形成方法。
- 13.吸着剤粒子をバインダー粒子の軟化点の少なくとも5℃以上の温度まで加 熱する請求の範囲第12項に記載の方法。
- 14.吸着剤粒子をバインダー粒子の軟化点の少なくとも10℃以上の温度まで 加熱し、該吸着剤粒子は約100メッシュ以上の平均粒径を有し、吸着剤粒子は 炭素の顆粒を含んでなる請求の範囲第12項に記載の方法。
- 15.凝集物を金型に実質的に圧縮なしに置くことによる凝集物を所定の形に形 成する請求の範囲第12項に記載の方法。
- 16.金型を加熱工程の間に少なくとも一度裏返して融合体を形成する請求の範 囲第15項に記載の方法。
- 17.凝集物を、それぞれ一つの開放された上面と一つの輪郭面を有する2つの 半金型内で賦形し、2つの金型を接合して、2つの輪郭面を有する、融合された 一体のフィルター体を得る請求の範囲第15項に記載の方法。
