Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a visual inspection device for fuel assembly capable of displaying a three-dimensional image in the whole view field of a color TV camera and judging the fall and bowing of a fuel assembly. CONSTITUTION:A visual inspection device 20 is provided with a single wavelength source 21, a column lens 23 to convert the light 33 of the single wave length source 21 to a slit light 27, a concave mirror 24 converting this slit light 27 to a parallel slit light 28 and a diffraction grating 25 to convert the parallel slit light 28 to light 29 through a plurality of slits. The reflected light 29 through the plurality of slits reflected by a fuel assembly is sensed by means of an under water TV camera and the output image of the water TV camera is displayed on a monitor TV. As the light 29 through the plurality of slits is parallel light, it is applied to the fuel assembly at a small dead angle and resultingly, three-dimensionality of the fuel assembly in the whole view field of the underwater TV camera can be obtained with each slit light and also, the fall and bowing of the fuel assembly can be judged from the interval of each slit light.

When the second-stage fuel rod 31 is seen between the first-stage fuel rods, an image as shown in FIG. 12 appears on the screen of the monitor television 12. As can be seen from FIG.
When the second-stage fuel rods 31 are visible from between the first-stage fuel rods 30, the boundary between the first-stage fuel rods 30 and the second-stage fuel rods 31 becomes clear unless the image is carefully watched. Since it was not possible to observe and the interval between the fuel rods 30 in the first stage could not be measured accurately, the defective portion was often overlooked.

A visual inspection apparatus for a nuclear fuel assembly equipped with No. 13 is disclosed. In this conventional example, if it is installed so as to satisfy the relationship of W / sin θ <P (P is the pitch of the fuel rods), an image is taken due to the distance difference in the depth direction of the fuel rods 30 where the slit light is irradiated. The single-wavelength light emitted from the single-wavelength source is converted into slit light by the cylindrical lens. Since the slit light emitted from the cylindrical lens has a fan-like spread, it is converted into parallel slit light having a width equal to or larger than the width of the fuel assembly to be inspected by the concave mirror. The parallel slit light output from the concave mirror is interfered by the diffraction grating, and a plurality of slit lights are obtained as the diffraction fringes. The exit angle θ i of the diffraction fringes at this time is given by the following equation when the slit light is perpendicularly incident on the diffraction grating.

Since the plural slit lights emitted in this way are parallel lights, they are irradiated to the fuel assembly with a small blind spot, and the reflected light reflected upon hitting the fuel assembly is imaged by the underwater television camera and monitored. Display on TV. As a result, a plurality of slit lights are imaged in the field of view of the underwater television camera, each slit light gives a three-dimensional effect of the fuel assembly in the entire field of view, and the fuel assembly collapses due to the slit light interval. , You can also judge the warp.

Assuming that the underwater television camera 3 is horizontally picking up an image, slit light 29 is observed on the monitor television 12 at a position proportional to this position Z i . As is clear from the equation (2), each slit light 29 is emitted at an angle obtained by adjusting the irradiation angle θ to the irradiation angle θ i ,
Moreover, since the parallel slit light is formed by the concave mirror 24, the slit light 29 is also applied to the second-stage fuel rod 31 without being shaded by the first-stage fuel rod 30, and the fuel assembly 2
The shape observed on the monitor TV 12 varies depending on the shape of the fuel rod 3 in the depth direction, and as shown in FIG.
The boundary between the fuel rods 31 at the 0th and 2nd stages can be clearly discriminated, and the distance between the fuel rods 30 can be accurately inspected.

産業上の利用効果は極めて大きい。
As described above, according to the present invention, in the visual inspection work of the fuel assembly of the nuclear power plant, only the simple optical device such as the cylindrical lens, the concave mirror, and the diffraction grating is used. Defect inspection of fuel rods can be carried out without being adversely affected by the fuel rods in the subsequent stage, and it is difficult to judge from a two-dimensional image obtained by an underwater television camera. The shape inspection can be easily performed, and the stereoscopic effect can be obtained at the same time over the entire area imaged by the underwater television camera. Therefore, the fuel assembly can be inspected for tilt or warp. Is extremely large.
