に対し支持される駆動軸19の一端に取り付けられる。こ
の駆動軸19の他端にはプーリ20を取り付け、このものが
フレーム13の後背部に搭載されたモータMからの回転を
ベルト21を介して伝達される。一方、上部ホイール15は
フレーム13の上方において上下方向に摺動自在に取り付
けられた上部軸受23に支持される上部ホイール軸24の一
端に取り付けられる。そして上部軸受23はエアバッグ25
によって緩衝的に支承されるものであって、エアバッグ
25の下方は前記フレーム13の一部が突出した支承部26に
よって支持される。尚この実施例では下部ホイール14及
び上部ホイール15が共に片持ちタイプであり、帯鋸刃16
を下部ホイール14と上部ホイール15とから外す際に上部
ホイール15をさほど引き下げなくとも交換がし得るか
ら、上部軸受23についてはエアバッグ25でフレーム13側
に直接支持するようにした構成をとっているが、従来手
法のように帯鋸刃を両持ちにしてフレーム13と上部軸受
23との間にスボールを介在させたタイプの装置であって
も本発明の適用が可能である。そしてこのような本機10
は前記支持ベース11上において挽道Lに対し退去自在に
構成されるものであって、挽道Lから直角方向に充分外
側に伸びた支持ベース11上に本機10が設置される。即ち
本機10側にはベース受部28を幾分か窪み状に形成し、更
にその両端部にベース押さえ板29を設け、これによって
形成される空間に支持ベース11における支承レール30を
嵌め合わせるようにして両者の摺動自在の嵌まり合い構
造を形成する。そして前記支持ベース11における挽道L
と反対側の端部と本機10との間には一例として油圧シリ
ンダを適用したシフタ31を設けるものである。勿論、油
圧シリンダに限らず適宜モータ等で駆動されるスクリュ
ーシャフトあるいはチェーン等、所定の移動が図れるよ
うな部材であればシフタ31として適用できることは言う
までもない。更にこのような帯鋸盤2に対して送材装置
3として一例として送材車33を主体とした装置を適用す
る。このものは送材車フレーム34の下方に設けた車輪35
がレール36上を転動し移動するものであり、前記送材車
フレーム34の上方には材Aを支持し、適宜の歩出しを行
うカスガイ装置37を具える。勿論、送材装置3に関して
はこのような送材車タイプのものに限らず、ローラタイ
プ、スラットコンベヤタイプあるいは平板状のテーブル
と、スパイクローラとの組み合わせ等適宜の組み合わせ
がとり得る。

挽割作業を行う。このような作業を継続し、帯鋸刃16が
交換時期に至ると材Aが挽き割りを開始する前段で今ま
で後方に待機していた帯鋸盤2Bを挽道Lまで前進させる
