Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately execute tack welding and to improve the performance of welding part by giving marks to show positions of tack welding on a backing metal intermittently in the longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:Recessed parts are formed on corner parts of a backing metal and made as marks of tack welding. When the tack welding is executed following to the marks of tack welding positions, the tack welding is made into the intermittent welding. When the backing metal is really restricted to a base material with continuous welding, cracks of assembling welding extend following to weak places of the composition of iron including deposited metal and the base material as it is, and the brittle fracture of all the welding part is in danger of generating, but because the tack welding is the intermittent welding, troubles such as the continuous welding are not generated. Therefore, because recessed parts are formed, arc start is easy, and positioning for tack welding can be accurately executed.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a backing metal for welding, and more particularly to a backing metal that displays a tack welding position.

2. Description of the Related Art The backing metal is fixed to the base material by tack welding, but tack welding is almost always fillet welding (see FIG. 1).

Conventionally, as a tack welding method, a backing metal is continuously welded (whole line fillet welding) to the base metal over the entire line, and a backing metal is intermittently welded to the base metal. There is a method of temporarily tack-welding a part of the whole wire in places.

However, in the former continuous welding, since the entire line is restrained by welding, stress is concentrated on the fillet welded portion before the main welding is carried out, and there is a risk that the weld will break before the main welding. In some cases, the brittle fracture of the entire joint can be reached, even reaching the base metal (see Fig. 2).

Further, in the latter intermittent welding, the welding posture is generally unstable in the case of tack welding, and the tack position is often decided by intuition, so that there is a problem that it tends to be a favorable and weak welding.

An object of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks of the prior art and to provide a backing metal for welding which can perform tack welding properly.

As a means for solving the above-mentioned problems, the present invention is characterized in that a temporary tack position mark indicating the position at which temporary tack welding is performed is intermittently provided in the longitudinal direction. The backing metal with temporary mounting position is as the gist.

The backing metal is usually plate-shaped or block-shaped, and is often made of steel (eg, SS400, SM490A), and the temporary welding position for the base metal is a corner portion.

FIG. 3 shows an example of the shape of the backing metal of the present invention. In the figure, the shaded area is the temporary attachment position, and in this example,
As the temporary attachment position mark, recesses are formed intermittently in the longitudinal direction. The length of the recess is determined in consideration of the tack welding length, but in the illustrated case, it is about 40 to 60 mm.

The temporary position mark can be formed on either one or both of the corners parallel to the longitudinal direction. If it is formed on both sides, there is an advantage that it can be used regardless of the usability of the backing metal.

It should be noted that instead of the concave portion, marking may be performed as a temporary attachment position mark. However, in addition to the drawback that the marking is easy to erase, it is not possible to obtain the effect of easily starting an arc like a recess.

According to the present invention, if the tack welding is performed according to the tack position mark, the tack welding is intermittently welded.
The following effects can be obtained.

That is, when the backing metal is fully restrained to the base metal by continuous welding, the cracks in the assembly welding tend to extend as they are, including the weld metal and the base metal, along the weak iron composition. Therefore, according to the present invention, since tack welding is intermittent welding, there is an advantage that problems such as continuous welding can be mitigated.
