The breaking capacity of breakers is also increasing. On the other hand, in order to reduce the size of the device, it is also attempted to increase the breaking capacity per point and reduce the number of series breaking points of the breaker. Therefore, as for the breaking performance of the breaker, it is required to optimize the gas blowing mechanism together with the electric field design between the poles of the breaker.

Is connected by a hollow operating rod 3 having an opening 3a to an operating mechanism (not shown) on the right side in FIG. Further, the puffer cylinder 4 has an opening portion.
4a is provided, and the gas in the compression chamber 6 can flow out through the cylindrical gas passage 8 formed by the outer insulating nozzle 7a and the inner insulating nozzle 7b fixed to the puffer cylinder 4. These parts are containers with insulating properties 9
The arc-extinguishing gas is filled in the internal space 10 of the insulating container 9 which is housed inside. In this example, the container has an insulating property, but there is also a puffer type gas circuit breaker in which the arc extinguishing chamber member is supported by the insulating material in the metal tank.

The movable electrode 2 is separated from the fixed electrode 1. As a result, an arc 11 is generated between the fixed electrode 1 and the movable electrode 2. On the other hand, as a result of the operation rod 3 being driven to the right in FIG. 6, the puffer cylinder 4 attached to the operation rod 3 also moves to the right, compressing the arc-extinguishing gas in the compression chamber 6,
An arc 11 is blown with the compressed arc-extinguishing gas through the opening 4a of the puffer cylinder 4, the gas passage 8 and the gas ejection port 8a to extinguish the arc 11. This gas stream is split into two streams 12a and 12b, which are split to the left in FIG.
The a flows out to the surrounding space 10 through the opening 7c of the outer insulating nozzle 7a. On the other hand, the flow 12b split to the right in FIG. 6 includes the opening 7d of the inner insulating nozzle 7b, the opening 13 after the fixed electrode 1 is separated from the movable electrode 2, the opening 3a of the operation rod 3, and the fixed portion. It flows into the surrounding space 10 through the opening 5a of the puffer piston 5.

Are always connected to the surrounding space 10 by the gas flow path 8, and a part of the gas starts to flow into the surrounding space 10 from the initial stage of the interelectrode operation. However, a normal gas circuit breaker does not show sufficient breaking performance because the distance between the electrodes is short immediately after opening, and the dielectric strength between the electrodes cannot withstand the regenerated voltage generated between the electrodes after arc extinction. Good blocking performance is exhibited only after a certain distance is opened. Therefore, the gas flowing out at the initial stage of the contact opening operation is completely wasted. Also,
In the puffer type gas circuit breaker, the gas pressure necessary for extinguishing the arc is created depending on the mechanical force applied from the outside as described above, but as described above, if a part of the gas constantly flows into the surrounding space, The conventional structure requires a larger driving force,
As a result, there is a drawback that the operation mechanism of the circuit breaker must be increased in size.

Therefore, the pressure of the gas in the compression chamber 6 can be increased very effectively. When the first seal portion 17a provided on the movable piston 17 reaches the groove 18 provided on the inner surface of the fixed cylinder 16 as the opening operation progresses, the arc-extinguishing gas inside the compression chamber 6 becomes , Movable cylinder 14 and movable piston
The gas is blown to the arc 11 via the gas flow path 19 formed by the movable cylinder 14, the movable cylinder 14 and the insulating nozzle 7a, and the movable electrode 2, thereby extinguishing the arc.

It flows into the chamber 22 and increases the gas pressure inside the gas storage chamber 22. When the opening operation progresses and the outlet 20a of the gas flow path 20 passes through the fixed seal portion 23, the arc energy is exhausted to the surrounding space 10, and the high pressure gas is stored in the gas storage chamber 22.

After that, it flows into the compression chamber 6. With this mechanism, the gas pressure required for extinguishing the arc can be made to depend partly on the arc energy without depending on the mechanical driving force. This reduces the opportunistic driving force, that is, the operating mechanism section. It is effective for downsizing.

By making arc-extinguishing gas whose pressure is increased by using arc energy in the initial stage of the opening operation to flow into the gas compression chamber and increase the pressure in the gas compression chamber in the latter stage of the opening operation, a smaller driving force is obtained. A first fixed electrode and a movable electrode which are arranged so as to be able to come in contact with and separate from each other on a common central axis, and a cylindrical first gas which is located around the first fixed electrode and the movable electrode. An insulating nozzle that forms a gas outlet located around the flow path and the central axis, and a movable cylinder integrally fixed to the insulating nozzle are provided, and the first fixed electrode and the movable electrode are in contact with each other. In this case, the movable cylinder is in electrical contact with the movable cylinder, and when the first fixed electrode and the movable electrode perform the separating operation, they are separated from the movable cylinder prior to the separation of these electrodes. A second fixed electrode is provided, a fixed cylinder that is in sliding contact with the movable cylinder is provided on the outer periphery of the movable cylinder, and the first gas flow path is provided inside the movable cylinder between the movable cylinder and the movable cylinder. Second gas flow path communicating with each other A movable piston that is formed and slides in contact with the fixed cylinder is provided integrally with the movable cylinder, a gas compression chamber is formed between the movable cylinder and the movable piston, and the gas is stored behind it. A fixed piston that forms a chamber is provided, and a groove that connects the gas compression chamber and the second gas flow path is provided on the inner surface of the fixed cylinder after the movable piston has moved a first predetermined distance. The energy dissipated from the arc generated between the movable electrode and the first fixed electrode when the movable electrode and the first fixed electrode are separated is guided to the air storage chamber until the movable piston moves a second predetermined distance. After that, the third gas flow path for exhausting to the surrounding space and the storage chamber and the gas compression chamber after the energy dissipated from the arc is exhausted to the surrounding space through the third gas flow path. Room and 4th communicating
