Therefore, work rolls are pressed between work rolls at predetermined intervals and in a predetermined state, and the material is run between the work rolls. ing. In this rolling mill, in order to process the material into predetermined dimensions and various dimensions, it is impossible to produce high-precision products unless the work rolls that press the material are set to predetermined intervals and conditions. ,
The amount of discarded products that do not meet the specified accuracy increases, and productivity decreases.

You need to do something. In order to detect the state of such a work roll, various methods and devices have been conventionally proposed, for example, as a measurement of roll displacement, a roll chock that supports both ends of the work roll when measuring the roll rolling direction. Alternatively, a device in which a displacement detector such as a magnet scale is attached to a reduction device for pressing the work roll is used.

In particular, since the rolls of the rolling mill receive a large load during rolling, the set position and the position at the time of rolling are different, and there are many parts, so accurate prediction cannot be performed by calculation. Therefore, particularly when the processing accuracy is required, it is not sufficient to measure the roll displacement as described above indirectly from the rolling down device or to perform the correction by calculation. In order to compensate for it, the upper and lower work rolls are brought into contact with each other in the absence of material, the backlash is removed by the rolling down device, and by tightening, a load is applied to elastically deform,
In this state, the method of measuring the displacement of the rolling position is used.

It has also been proposed to provide roll displacement detectors on the left and right of the roll chocks at both ends, and to process the data of all the detectors by computer to measure the inclination and displacement of the work roll (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 3375/1993).

Many errors occur due to backlash and elastic deformation of each part, resulting in inaccuracy. Also, when the upper and lower work rolls are brought into contact with each other to apply a load when there is no material and the value in this condition is corrected, When the roll is hot rolled,
When the temperature change is large or a load change occurs, the correction value is not always accurate, and the measured value becomes inaccurate.

That is, the work roll has a gap as a play required for vertical movement in the rolling direction, and there is also play in the axial direction. Therefore, strictly speaking, the change in the position of the work roll is composed of the vertical direction (rolling down direction), the horizontal direction (rolling direction), and the axial direction (shift direction) of the roll which receive the load. It is not possible to detect roll gaps with high accuracy only by measuring in the rolling direction.

という欠点があった。On the other hand, in a rolling mill having a plate crown adjusting function of axially shifting the roll of the rolling mill or inclining the roll in the rolling direction, in order to accurately detect the displacement and the inclination, As in the conventional example, it is necessary to provide a total of eight sensors on both sides of both ends of the upper and lower work rolls, and it takes a lot of time and cost to secure the accuracy of the signals from these sensors. Since the displacement of the roll is indirectly detected from the roll chock or the like, there is a drawback that sufficient measurement accuracy cannot be obtained. Further, in a shift rolling machine that only shifts the work rolls in the axial direction, since it is designed on the assumption that roll crossing does not occur, the work rolls as described above are simply moved in the rolling direction. Like the rolling mill
There is no sensor that measures the cross angle, the cross angle is not detected, and highly accurate detection cannot be performed.
There was a drawback.

At this time, as shown in FIG. 3, on the surface of the screen 15, it can be read from the screen that the light shadow moves from the position A before the material is bitten into the rolling mill to the position B after the material is bited. You can From this change in position, it is possible to calculate how much the end face of the roll is displaced in the vertical direction and the lateral direction by calculating the displacement angle. From the measurement result of the above displacement, the cross angle is 0.
012 as a difference between the left and right displacements in the rolling direction.
It is detected that the displacement of 7 mm on the work side is large.

It is possible to detect the displacement and inclination of the work roll with high accuracy regardless of the existence. Further, in a general laser displacement measuring instrument, the distance between the sensor and the object to be measured is about several tens of mm to 300 mm, and it is necessary to attach this sensor to the rolling mill main body, but in the present invention, the sensor contacts the roll. Since the measuring device can be installed at a position sufficiently separated from the roll, the measurement accuracy can be secured and maintainability can be improved. Moreover, it is not necessary to provide a large number of sensors such as eight as in the conventional sensor,
Since it is sufficient to provide at least one for each roll, the apparatus becomes inexpensive and it is not necessary to spend a lot of time for adjusting them.
