In the resistive film type touch screen, for example, the x coordinate of the point P in FIG. 7 is detected as follows. First, a writing object such as a finger or a pen is pressed against an arbitrary point P on the movable insulating base material to bend the movable insulating base material toward the fixed insulating base material between the pitches of the insulating spacers. No, when the movable-side resistance film is brought into contact with the fixed-side resistance film, a voltage is applied to the movable-side resistance film between the strip electrodes from the external power source, so that the movable-side resistance film of the movable-side insulating base material has X A potential gradient is generated in the direction, and the voltage ex is divided at a point P on the movable-side resistance film of the movable-side insulating base material.
Occurs, and this voltage ex is detected from the voltage dividing output end of the fixed side insulating base material to which no voltage is applied from the external power source. Here, when the coordinates of the point P are (x, y), the distance between the strip electrodes of the movable insulating base material is L1, and the voltage between the strip electrodes is E,
The x coordinate of the point P can be detected from the voltage ex by the relationship of ex / E = x / L1. Also, stop applying voltage from the external power supply to the movable resistance film between the strip electrodes of the movable insulation base material, and apply voltage from the external power supply to the fixed resistance film between the strip electrodes of the fixed insulation base material. Then, the divided voltage ey is applied to the point P on the fixed-side resistance film of the fixed-side insulating base material.
Occurs, and this voltage ey is detected from the voltage dividing output end of the movable insulating base material. Here, when the distance between the strip electrodes of the movable insulating base material is L2 and the voltage between the strip electrodes is E, ey / E
The y coordinate of the point P can be detected from the voltage ey according to the relationship of = y / L2.

However, in order to input with a pen, the part from the outside of the little finger of the hand holding the pen to the wrist must be placed on the movable insulating base material (hereinafter referred to as "with hand"). In many cases, in a touch screen where the insulating spacer pitch is large over the entire area where the insulating spacer is formed, the "touched" portion of the movable side insulating base material makes contact with the resistive film, resulting in "touched" information. It was easy to make an erroneous input such as up to the input.

The area shape of the insulating spacer 3 in the hand-input disabled area 4 is a trapezoidal area formed in the lower right portion of the fixed side insulating base material 1 or the movable side insulating base material 2 (FIG. 2). Insulating substrate 1 or movable insulating substrate 2
Area (FIG. 3) formed in the entire area of the fixed side insulating base material 1 or the movable half side insulating base material 2 having a shape larger than the right half surface (FIG. 4), fixed side insulating base material 1 or a region shape (FIG. 5) formed in a shape smaller than the right half surface of the movable insulating base material 2. In addition to these, a polygonal shape such as a pentagon or a shape corresponding to a part from the outer side of the little finger of the hand holding the pen to the wrist may be used. The above is to form a case where a right-handed person holds a pen with the right hand to perform pen input, and the hand-writable input area 4 is formed in the lower right portion or the right half surface, but a left-handed person holds the pen with the left hand. In order to deal with the case of pen input, the hand-input disabled area 4 may be formed in the lower left portion or the left half surface.

The pitch of the insulating spacers 3 in the area other than the hand-input disabled area 4 is about 500 μm to about 2000 μm.
The pitch is within the range of, and is larger than the pitch of the hand-input disabled area. When it becomes smaller than about 500 μm,
It is easy to get finger input. Also, if it is larger than about 2000 μm, it will be input even if it is a lighter touch than with a hand (for example, when a part of the hand holding the pen touches lightly with the moment of writing or dust etc. adheres), it will be entered incorrectly. It will be easier.

μm. Particularly, 6 μm to 8 μm is preferable. About 5 μm
At smaller sizes, resistive film contact can easily occur too much,
The movable-side resistance film 20 is likely to be damaged or erroneously input. On the other hand, when the thickness is larger than about 10 μm, the valley between the insulating spacer 3 and the insulating spacer 3 becomes too deep, and it becomes difficult to make contact with the resistive film, and input omission easily occurs.

The diameter of each insulating spacer 3 in the hand-input disabled area 4 and other areas is about 20 μm.
It is about 70 μm. If it is smaller than about 20 μm, the diameter is too small when forming the insulating spacer 3, and when applying a forming method such as photofabrication,
It becomes difficult to set the height of each insulating spacer 3 to about 5 μm or more. On the other hand, if it is larger than about 70 μm, it becomes larger than one pixel of the image displayed on the display device, which makes it difficult to see the image. The diameter of one insulating spacer 3 is about 30 μm as a preferable value.
There is about 40 μm. With this numerical value, it is possible to simultaneously satisfy the condition of the height of each insulating spacer 3 and the condition that the image is easy to see.

As a specific method of forming the large number of insulating spacers 3 in the hand-input disabled area 4 and the other areas, there is a so-called photofabrication forming method capable of performing ultraprecision processing. First, a transparent insulating film is entirely formed on the fixed-side resistance film 10 or a movable-side resistance film 20 described later, and a mask original plate composed of a light-transmitting portion and a non-light-transmitting portion is covered and exposed. , The part of the insulating film corresponding to the light-transmitting part of the mask original plate is cross-linked and cured, and the part of the insulating film corresponding to the non-light-transmitting part of the original plate is dissolved with a developing solution to insulate the desired pattern. Pattern the coating. This pattern has a dot shape or a mesh shape. As the material of the insulating film, an ultraviolet curable resin based on acrylic resin is used. Further, as a method for forming the insulating coating, there are a screen printing method, a roll coater method, a dipping method, a spinner method and the like.

As the adhesive material 5, there are adhesive agents such as acrylic resin, epoxy resin, phenol resin, vinyl resin and the like. A double-sided adhesive tape may be used instead of the adhesive. The adhesive 5 has a thickness of about 25 μm to about 100 μm. Further, in order to suppress the occurrence of local input omission only in the vicinity of the adhesive and to ensure the insulation between the electrodes, the thickness of the adhesive 5 may be about 60 μm to about 80 μm.

The pen input type touch screen of the present invention according to claim 1 is capable of pen input over the entire area, and is approximately 200
It has a hand-incapable area in which insulating spacers are formed at a pitch in the range of μm to about 500 μm. Therefore,
Resistive film contact may not be possible depending on how the pen is touched. In addition, since it is possible to selectively set an area that is easy to touch when inputting with a pen as an area that cannot be touched by hand, collect statistical data such as where is the area where incorrect input is likely to occur due to touching, and select based on that data. It is possible to form a non-touchable input area, and it is possible to efficiently prevent erroneous input due to touching at the time of pen input. Also,
It is also possible to collect the statistical data for each model and size of the touch screen, and to change the formation location of the non-touchable input area for each model and size.

Further, the pen input type touch screen of the present invention according to claim 2 is capable of pen input in the entire area and has a hand input in which an insulating spacer is formed at a pitch within a range of about 200 μm to about 500 μm. The impossible area occupies the entire area where the insulating spacer is formed. Therefore, in all regions where a large number of insulating spacers are formed, the resistive film is not contacted by the touch of the pen input.

[Example] A glass plate having a length of 73 mm, a width of 125 mm, and a thickness of 1.1 mm was used as a fixed-side insulating base material, and tin oxide was used on the entire upper surface thereof.
A 300 Å thick transparent resistance film was formed by the CVD method. Next, screen-print a UV-curable acrylic resin on the resistance film to form a transparent insulating film over the entire surface, and then use photolithography to form the insulating film formed in the area where the insulating film is to be written. The film was patterned to form a large number of dot-shaped insulating spacers, and at the same time, the area outside the area where the writing operation was performed was left as an insulating portion area. The height of each dot-shaped insulating spacer was 6 μm, and the diameter of each dot-shaped insulating spacer was 40 μm. The writing operation area was divided into two areas, that is, a trapezoidal hand-input area and another area, depending on the pitch of the insulating spacers.
In the trapezoidal non-inputtable area, the pitch of the insulating spacer formed in the lower right part of the fixed side insulating base material is 250 μm in the non-inputtable area, and 1000 μm in other areas.
And Next, by screen-printing silver paste on both ends of the area to be written, the length of 124 mm,
A pair of parallel strip-shaped electrodes having a width of 3 mm were separated by 60 mm and formed parallel to the lateral direction of the glass plate.
