Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.1:1より大きいが1.2:1以下の可逆的たわみ比をもつことを特徴とす る非線状の火炎耐性の炭素質繊維または繊維のトウ。 2.該繊維が約2より大きく約20g/d以下の強度をもつことを特徴とする請 求項1の繊維。 3.該繊維が約5〜約13g/dの強度をもつことを特徴とする請求項1または 2の繊維。 4.該繊維が2〜約9%の破断伸度をもつことを特徴とする請求項1、2または 3の繊維。 5.該繊維が約2〜約18%の擬似伸長性をもつことを特徴とする請求項1〜4 のいずれか1項の繊維。 6.該繊維が50%未満の曲げ歪み値をもつことを特徴とする請求項1〜5のい ずれか1項の繊維。 7.該繊維が周波数2〜約6捲縮/インチの微細捲縮をもつことを特徴とする請 求項1〜6のいずれか1項の繊維。 8.該繊維が微細捲縮に重ねた二次捲縮をもちその周波数が6〜約15捲縮/イ ンチであることを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれか1項の繊維。 9.5〜35重量%の窒素含量をもつことを特徴とする請求項1の繊維。 10.65重量%より大きいが92重量%より小さい炭素含量をもつことを特徴 とする請求項1の繊維。 11.該繊維か少なくとも92重量%の炭素含量をもつグラファイト質繊維であ ることを特徴とする請求項1の繊維。 12.安定化ポリアクリロニトリル繊維から誘導された非線状の火炎耐性非グラ ファイト質炭素繊維または繊維のトウであって、該炭素質繊維が5〜35重量% の窒素含量(65重量%より大きい 炭素含量)をもつこと及び該繊維が1:1より大きいが1.2:1以下の可逆的 たわみ比をもつことを特徴とする繊維。 13.該繊維が約2より大きく約20g/dまでの強度をもつことを特徴とする 請求項12の繊維。 14.該繊維が約0.2〜約18%の擬似伸長性および約2〜約9%の伸長性を もつことを特徴とする請求項12または13の繊維。 15.該繊維が6〜15捲縮/インチの捲縮周波数をもつことを特徴とする請求 項12、13または14の繊維。 16.該繊維が50%より小さい曲げ歪み値をもつことを特徴とする請求項12 〜15のいずれか1項の繊維。 17.該安定化ポリアクリロニトリル前駆体繊維がアクリロニトリルホモポリマ ー、アクリロニトリルコポリマーおよびアクリロニトリルターポリマーからえら ばれることを特徴とする請求項12〜16のいずれか1項の繊維。 18.該コポリマーおよびターポリマーが少なくとも85モル%のアクリル単位 と15モル%までの1種以上のモノビニル単位を含むことを特徴とする請求項1 7の繊維。 19.請求項1または12による複数の非線状の着火耐性炭素質繊維を含むヤー ン。 20.該炭素質繊維と天然または合成の繊維とのブレンドを特徴とする請求項1 9のヤーン。 21.少なくとも19のR値をもつことを特徴とする請求項1の炭素質繊維を含 むバッティング。 22.ポリマー前駆体繊維が不活性雰囲気中での熱処理を受けて炭化を生ぜしめ るポリマー前駆体繊維のトウの炭化方法であって、該繊維のトウを不活性ガスの 動的流れに付して隙間の酸素を該繊維のトウから除くことを特徴とする方法。 23.該繊維トウが熱処理を受ける前に不活性ガスの動的流れを適 用することを特徴とする請求項22の方法。 24.熱処理のあいだ繊維トウに向けて不活性ガスの動的流れを適用することを 特徴とする請求項22または23の方法。 25.約40,000本以上の繊維をもつ繊維トウをえらび、該繊維をほぼ平ら なシート状模様に配列し、そしてこれらの平らな繊維のトウを熱処理前に丸い歯 をもつ一対の捲縮用ギアの間を通して該繊維に微細な捲縮を与える工程を特徴と する請求項22、23または24の方法。 26.アンチバックラッシ組立体をもつ捲縮用ギアを駆動させて一定の同調を与 えそして一方のギアの歯からのトルクを繊維を通して他方のギアの歯に移動させ 、そのあいだギア間の可変間隔を補償する工程を特徴とする請求項25の方法。 27.捲縮用ギア間に平らな繊維トウを受入れるに十分な距離で捲縮用ギアに相 互に間隔を設ける工程を含む請求項25の方法。 28.繊維のトウを第二の捲縮機構に通して該繊維に微細捲縮よりも低い周波数 と高い振幅の追加の捲縮を与える工程を含む請求項25の方法。
