Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture the nozzle tip of an injection molding machine having high wear resistance to a hard material by mixing and depositing an Ni base and WC on the surface of a nozzle tip body and depositing WC on the upper part of this deposited layer. CONSTITUTION: The powder of the Ni base 31 and the WC 32 is mixed and deposited on the surface of the nozzle tip body part 11 by using a plasma thermal spraying device 50. As a result, the WC 32 having a large sp. gr. settles to the lower part and the deposited layer A1 of the upper part mostly consisting of the Ni base 31 alone is formed. The powder of the WC 32 is then deposited by the plasma thermal spraying device 50 on the upper part of this deposited layer A1 . As a result, the wear resistant alloy layer A2 nearly uniformly dispersed with the WC 32 in the Ni base 31 as a whole is formed. The wear resistant alloy layer A2 is thereafter worked to a prescribed front end shape and small-diameter part of the nozzle tip by electric discharge machining, etc.

2. Description of the Related Art In an injection molding machine, for example, in the case of injection molding a hard material such as a synthetic resin or ceramic to which various composite materials such as glass fiber represented by FRP are added,
Since the material is easily worn by the material, the cylinder, the screw and the like need to be made of a material having high hardness. In particular, the nozzle tip of the injection molding machine has a smaller inner diameter than the peripheral cylinder portion, so the flow velocity of the injection material becomes faster, and when using a material to which the above composite material is added, However, there has been a problem that the nozzle mouth portion is abruptly and significantly worn. In addition, there is a dislike that the nozzle tip is apt to be cracked by a strong impact when the nozzle is touched.

The tip portion 15 of the nozzle tip including the small diameter portion 16 is made of a wear-resistant alloy A in which nickel base and tungsten carbide are dispersed almost uniformly. FIG. 2 shows an enlarged sectional view thereof. That is, the wear-resistant alloy A forming the nozzle tip tip portion 15 is formed by welding the nickel base 31 and the tungsten carbide 32 on the surface of the nozzle tip body 11 in a substantially evenly dispersed state.

When both metals are mixed and deposited, it is difficult to form a uniform wear-resistant alloy layer because the specific gravity of tungsten carbide is 15.8 and the nickel base is 8.9. Therefore, in the present invention, the abrasion resistant alloy layer is formed by the first step and the second step described below.

First, in the first step, as shown in FIG. 3, a nickel base 31 is formed on the surface of the nozzle tip body 11.
Powders of tungsten carbide 32 and tungsten carbide 32 are mixed and welded by a known plasma welding apparatus 50, the tungsten carbide 32 sinks to the lower portion, and the upper portion forms a welded layer A1 containing almost only nickel base 31. The mixing ratio of both metals is
For example, in a volume ratio, 50% (1/2 of the total amount) of nickel base and 25% (1/4 of the total amount) of tungsten carbide are mixed and welded by a known plasma welding apparatus 50. As can be understood from the figure, the two carbides have the tungsten carbide 32 settled in the lower part due to the difference in their specific gravities, and the upper part is almost a layer containing only the nickel base 31.

Next, as shown in FIG. 4, in the second step, the tungsten carbide 3 is formed on the upper part of the welding layer A1.
Only the powder No. 2 is welded by the plasma welding apparatus 50 as described above. The amount of tungsten carbide deposited at this time is preferably the same as the amount of tungsten carbide deposited in the above step (that is, 25%, which is a quarter of the total amount).

By the second step, as shown in the drawing, the tungsten carbide 32 enters the upper part of the weld layer A1 formed in the first step, that is, the layer of the nickel base 31 where the tungsten carbide was almost absent, Abrasion resistant alloy layer A2 in which tungsten carbide 32 as a whole is dispersed in a nickel base 31 in a substantially uniform state

FIG. 5 shows the change in the hole diameter of the small diameter portion depending on the number of days of use when ferrite powder using polypropylene resin as a binder was injection-molded using the nozzle tip obtained in this example. The nozzle diameter in this usage example is 3 mm. Reference numeral 60 in the drawing denotes a small diameter portion of the nozzle tip of the present invention, and reference numeral 70 denotes a conventional nitride steel nozzle tip small diameter portion. In the conventional product, after 7 days from the start of use, the wear of the thin portion exceeds 2 mm on one side and cannot be used. On the other hand, in the nozzle tip according to the present invention, even after 165 days from the start of use, the thin portion remains thin. The wear was 0.25 mm, which was sufficient.

As shown and described above, according to the present invention, nickel base and tungsten carbide powder are mixed and welded on the surface of the nozzle tip body, the tungsten carbide sinks to the lower part, and the upper part contains only nickel base. After forming the weld layer, the tungsten carbide powder is welded to the upper part of the weld layer to form a wear-resistant alloy layer in which the tungsten carbide is dispersed almost uniformly in the nickel base as a whole. Therefore, as compared with the conventional nozzle tip, its wear resistance could be dramatically improved. According to the results of the above experiment, the change in the diameter of the nozzle tip due to wear was significantly reduced even when it was used for at least 23 times or more for a long time. Further, according to this nozzle tip, since it has high durability against impact at the time of nozzle touch, the number of times of nozzle tip replacement is reduced, continuous operation of the injection molding machine is possible, and it greatly contributes to cost reduction. It is a thing.
