There is a difference in image quality between the case of developing an image with toner on the conductive layer 105 of the original sheet 102 and the case of developing an image with toner on the printing paper 117 by the electrophotographic method. There was a problem that it was reflected in the print result of. This is because the toner is accurately electrostatically printed on the electrostatically charged printing paper 117 to form a beautiful image, while the conductive layer 105 disperses the charge, so electrostatic attraction of the toner occurs irregularly. This is because the image is disturbed.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described. First, a plate making method and a plate making apparatus according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to the block diagram of FIG. First, there is the plain paper 3, and an arbitrary insulating image 5 is formed on one surface of the plain paper 3. The formation of the insulating image 5 is performed by the insulating image forming apparatus 47, for example,
By a known electrophotographic device. Then, the plain paper 3 with the insulating image 5 is introduced into the conductivity imparting device 7 by the feed roller 48. Then, the plain paper 3 to which the conductivity is given becomes the plate 1. The conductivity imparting device 7 includes, for example, as shown in FIG. 2, a pool 11 containing a conductive agent 9, and in the pool 11, plate supply rollers 13a and 13b are provided for insulation. It is conceivable to introduce the plain paper 3 with the sexiness image 5 into the pool 11 containing the conductive agent 9 by these plate supply rollers 13a and 13b. Also, pool 11
It is also conceivable to apply the conductive agent 9 to the back surface of the plain paper 3 with the insulating image 5 by a roller or spray without providing the above. As the conductive agent 9, for example, a binder containing a binder oxide as a main component and a metal oxide and carbon, and a material containing particles such as copper powder, aluminum powder and carbon black are suitable solvents. It is possible to use the one dissolved in the above, the conductive liquid, or the like. That is, the conductivity is 10 6 Ω / cm so that the formed conductive layer is sufficiently conductive to the ground.
You need only show 2 or less. It should be noted that 100 to 1000 Ω / cm 2 can be achieved for the material containing the above carbon. Further, quaternary ammonium compounds, amines, phosphoric acid esters, fatty acid polyglycols, alcohols such as glycerin and sorbitol, which are generally used as antistatic agents, can also be used as the conductive agent. Is.

In this case, basically, the plate 1 for electrostatic printing is not manufactured. First, the paper feeding roller 39 of the paper feeding device 33
Thus, one sheet of printing paper 35 is supplied to the plate cylinder 31. The supplied one printing sheet 35 is held by the plate cylinder 31. On the other hand, in the insulating image forming apparatus 47, the photosensitive drum 49 is in a state of being “negatively” charged by the charging device 51. The image data read by the scanner device 45 is the laser head device 5.
3, the photosensitive drum 49 is exposed. And

The toner 55, which is negatively charged, is visualized. Since the toner 55 is made of epoxy resin or the like to which magnetic fine powder such as ferrite and a plastic material are added and has an insulating property, the toner 55 is exposed to the "negative" when the photosensitive drum 49 is exposed. It will adhere to the part. By this operation, the toner image is transferred to the side of the printing paper 35 that is charged with the opposite polarity to the potential of the toner 55. The transferred toner image is fused and fixed by the plate fixing device 59, whereby the image formation is completed.

The sheet peeling device 67 peels the sheet. The peeled printing paper 35 is ejected into the paper ejection device 41. This completes printing on one sheet of printing paper 35. After that, by repeating the above steps, a predetermined number of printing sheets 35 are printed. When the printing operation is repeated, the photosensitive drum 49 is replaced by the cleaning device 5
6, the photosensitive drum 49 is uniformly charged by the charging device 51.

The process up to the step of forming an insulative image is the same as the above, and the plate is used for electrostatic printing through the subsequent steps. That is, the printing paper 35 that has passed through the plate fixing device 59 is provided with conductivity by the above-described conductivity providing device 7. The printing paper 35 having the conductivity is used as the plate 1 for electrostatic printing.

By this "positive" charging, the conductive layer of the plate 1 is electrically connected to the ground and becomes substantially ground potential. On the other hand, the part of the insulating image of plate 1 is
The electric charge of 200 to 300 V is retained. next,
In the developing device 63, the liquid toner charged with “negative” is brought into contact with the surface of the plate 1. As a result, the liquid toner is sucked toward the plate 1 and developed.

Therefore, when the transfer device 65 applies a “positive” potential by operating the switch 75, the “negative” charged liquid toner on the toner image on the plate 1 is transferred to the printing paper 35 side. Then, the desired printing will be performed. In that case, the plate 1 is cleaned by the cleaning device 69, and then,
It is uniformly charged by the charging device 61. or,
When the plate 1 is no longer needed after printing a predetermined number of sheets, the plate 1 is discharged into the plate discharging device 43.

First, according to the plate making method according to the present embodiment, unlike the conventional case, an original plate that has been manufactured in advance is not used, but a plain paper 3 for electrophotography is used to form the plate 1. Therefore, it is possible to perform printing with the same quality as electrophotography, and it is possible to greatly reduce the cost required for plate production. That is,
This is because an insulating image may be formed on the plain paper 3 for electrophotography, and conductivity may be imparted to it later. Further, according to the printing apparatus of the present embodiment, a single apparatus is used to manufacture the electrostatic printing plate 1 using the conductivity imparting apparatus, and the electrostatic printing means is used to manufacture the electrostatic printing plate 1. Since printing can be performed, desired printing can be performed according to the number of print copies, even if a plurality of devices that are individually configured are not provided. Further, since the plate 1 is made on the plate cylinder 31 and used for electrostatic printing without being transferred, the plate 1 is not scratched. Further, in the developing device 63 of the printing device, liquid toner is used, and the liquid toner is configured as a developing solution in which a toner having an electric charge is suspended in an insulating liquid. . By using such a liquid toner, it has become possible to perform sharper printing with higher density.

First, in the insulating image forming apparatus 47 of the printing apparatus, the one using the laser head device 53 is shown as an example of the electrophotographic method, but the invention is not limited thereto, and all known electrophotographic methods can be used. It is possible to apply the included insulating image forming means. Further, in the developing device 63 of the printing device, the development is not limited to the liquid toner, but may be development using dry toner, charging mist or the like. Further, the configuration of the printing device is not limited to that shown in FIG. 2, and the arrangement order of each device around the plate cylinder 31 may be changed.

Since it can be used as a plate, the cost required for plate production can be significantly reduced, and compared with the case where an insulating image is formed on a plate that is provided with a conductive layer in advance and electric charges can easily escape. With plain paper for photographs, the charged toner can be reliably transferred, so
The quality of the image is high and, in the end, the quality of the plate for electrostatic printing is high. Further, according to the printing device of the present invention, a single device is used to manufacture a plate for electrostatic printing by using a conductivity imparting device, and electrostatic printing is performed by electrostatic printing means using the plate. Therefore, it is possible to perform desired printing with good quality in accordance with the number of print copies, even without providing a plurality of devices that are individually configured.
