Filter through a 8 μm membrane filter and filter the filtrate to 40
The mixture was heated to 0 ° C and left for 1 day. After that, the filtrate was further cooled to 5 ° C. and left for 1 day, and then refiltered with a 0.8 μm membrane filter while maintaining 5 ° C. to obtain an aqueous solution having a fatty acid content of 0.3% by weight or less. An ink was produced.

Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an ink jet recording method is an electrostatic attraction method, a method of applying mechanical vibration or displacement to ink by using a piezoelectric element, or air bubbles are generated by heating ink and the pressure at that time is used. Ink ejection methods such as a method are known. Ink droplets are formed by these ejection methods, and some or all of them are attached to a recording material such as paper for recording. When a writing instrument such as a fountain pen, felt-tip pen, or ball-point pen is used, ink is ejected from a capillary tube and is recorded on a recording material, as is well known. As an ink used for such an ink jet recording system or a writing instrument, various water-soluble dyes or pigments, which are dissolved or dispersed in water or a liquid medium composed of water and a water-soluble organic solvent, are known and used. There is.

The liquid stability is that there is no clogging or precipitation at the nozzle, orifice or pen tip of the recording device when recording is interrupted or when recording is not performed for a long time. In particular, the inkjet method is more expensive than the writing instrument, and it is important to prevent clogging of the inkjet nozzles and orifices. Further, in the ink jet system, even if the nozzles and orifices are not clogged, there is a big problem that the printing defect due to the deflection of the flight direction due to the generation of precipitates, the change in the amount of ink drops, the change in the flight speed, and the like. Further, in the thermal inkjet method using thermal energy among the inkjet methods, foreign matters are likely to be deposited on the surface of the heating element due to temperature change, and therefore a problem is important.

に至ったものである。Commercially available dyes and pigments as ink materials contain many impurities (for example, various organic and inorganic substances such as dispersants and leveling agents), and ink components other than dyes and pigments such as water. It is a well-known fact that water and water-soluble organic solvents contain a considerable amount of organic and inorganic impurities, and also that various impurities are mixed depending on the container, equipment, and environment used when manufacturing and preparing ink. Is. As a result of earnest research to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present inventor has caused the above-mentioned problems due to these impurities. Clogs, bends in the flight direction, changes in ink droplet volume, changes in flight speed,
A major cause of the formation of precipitates during ink storage is the fatty acids contained in the ink, and the use of an ink in which the amount of these impurities is below a certain value solves the above various problems. The present invention has been completed and the present invention has been completed.

できなかった。The inventor of the present invention has conducted extensive studies on the stability of the ink. As a result, the wetting agent and other additives used in conventional inks, in the case of synthetic products, are by-products and production during synthesis. In case of impurities such as dust mixed in above, or natural products,
It contains a large amount of organic and inorganic impurities such as originally possessed impurities, and even dyes used in conventional inks include, for example, surfactants, leveling agents, sodium chloride and sulfuric acid. It was found to contain a great deal of inorganic and organic impurities such as sodium and alkaline earth metal salts. Further, pigments used in conventional inks also contain many inorganic and organic impurities such as impurities contained in the pigment itself and impurities contained in the dispersant. It is known that these impurities cause various problems in ink jet recording and writing instruments, and the present inventor also diligently removed these inorganic and organic impurities to obtain an ink material having high purity, and made an ink by using these materials. However, although the problem was solved to a large extent, the flight direction bending in the inkjet system, the change in the ink droplet amount,
It does not completely solve changes in flight speed, etc.
In the inkjet method using heat energy, it is not always possible to sufficiently prevent the deposition of foreign matter on the heating element.

本発明に至ったものである。As a result of further detailed research, the inventor of the present invention has analyzed the surface of nozzles and orifices of ink jet heads that are bent in the flight direction, and the analysis of deposits on heating elements to determine the main causative substances causing these problems. Was found to be a fatty acid. Furthermore, there is a good correlation between the amount of fatty acids in the ink and the amount of deposits on the heating element in the inkjet method that uses the bending of the flight direction in the inkjet method, the change in the amount of ink droplets, the change in the flying speed, and the thermal energy in the inkjet method. Became clear,
The present invention has been achieved.

Immediately after preparation of the ink including the microfiltration step, it exists in the state of being completely dissolved or dispersed in the ink, but thereafter, when the ink undergoes environmental changes such as temperature, humidity, pH, etc., it exists in the fatty acid and the ink. Cations represented by alkali metals react to form insoluble salts. This insoluble salt causes clogging of the nozzles and orifices of the inkjet head and causes deposition on the heating element.

After that, the temperature of the ink is lowered, and the ink is left to stand still at room temperature or lower, more preferably 10 ° C. or lower, for another day. The ink subjected to such an aging treatment is subjected to microfiltration again in a temperature environment of room temperature or lower, preferably 10 ° C. or lower.

This is to replace it with the salt form. Further, the reason why the temperature of the ink is thereafter lowered to room temperature or lower is to accelerate the precipitation of the insoluble salt of the fatty acid. In addition, the reason why the microfiltration is thereafter performed at a temperature equal to or lower than room temperature is to remove the precipitated insoluble salt of the fatty acid without dissolving it in the ink again.

And more preferably, the content of the fatty acid contained in the ink is 0.09% by weight or less. Therefore, even when used and stored for a long time, the temperature environment may change. Good printing is possible without causing printing defects due to clogging of nozzles and orifices, bending in the flying direction, changes in the amount of ink drops, and changes in the flying speed. In addition, when the water-based ink of the present invention is used in a thermal ink jet system that uses thermal energy, foreign matter is less likely to be deposited on the surface of the heating element, which has the effect of improving the durability of the head.
