Abstract

(57)【要約】 【課題】 依頼元において予め発信元電話番号が登録さ
れていなくても、不達情報を返信することができ、ま
た、依頼元において正確に発信元電話番号が登録されて
いない場合でも、確実に不達情報を返信することができ
るようにする。 【解決手段】 依頼元となるファクシミリ装置から呼出
を受けたときに、その呼出信号とともに送出される発信
元電話番号を検出し、記憶する発信元電話番号検出／記
憶手段１，５ｂを備え、依頼元より依頼を受けた送信先
にファクシミリ送信が出来なかった場合に、発信元電話
番号検出／記憶手段５ｂに記憶されている発信元電話番
号を自動的に呼出して、不達情報を送出する構成となっ
ている。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、電話交換局による
発信元情報サービスを有効に利用した不達返信通知機能
付きファクシミリ装置に関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】従来からファクシミリ装置には、中継同
報機能を備えたものが普及しており、依頼元となるファ
クシミリ装置から画像データを受信して、一旦メモリに
格納した後、依頼を受けた送信先である複数のファクシ
ミリ装置に対して、送信を行っている。
【０００３】これによって、依頼元と複数の送信先とが
遠く離れている場合でも、送信先の近くに設置されたフ
ァクシミリ装置が、中継機として一旦画像データを受信
してから複数のファクシミリ送信を行うので、通信費の
大幅な節約ができていた。更に、この種のファクシミリ
装置には不達返信通信機能を備えたものが普及してお
り、中継結果レポートの一つとして、画像データを送信
できなかったファクシミリ装置が存在した場合に、その
情報を依頼元のファクシミリ装置に返信している。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】ところが、上記従来の
不達返信通知機能付きファクシミリ装置では、依頼元に
おいて、予めキー操作等によって発信元電話番号を登録
しなければ、不達返信通知機能を使用できなかった。ま
た、依頼元が発信元電話番号を正確に登録していなけれ
ば、ファクシミリ通信手順においてハンドシェイク時
に、誤った内容の送信端末識別信号（ＴＳＩ信号）が、
中継機である不達返信通知機能付きファクシミリ装置に
送信されることになり、この中継機ではファクシミリ送
信できなかった送信先があった場合に、依頼元以外の電
話番号を呼出してしまい、依頼元に対して不達情報が通
知できないばかりか、呼出してしまった相手に迷惑がか
かることになっていた。
【０００５】本発明は上記事情に鑑みてなされたもので
あり、依頼元において予め発信元電話番号が登録されて
いなくても、不達情報を返信することができ、また、依
頼元において正確に発信元電話番号が登録されていない
場合でも、確実に不達情報を返信することができる不達
返信通知機能付きファクシミリ装置を提供することを目
的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】上記目的を達成する為に
提案される請求項１に記載の本発明は、依頼元となるフ
ァクシミリ装置から呼出を受けたときに、その呼出信号
とともに送出される発信元電話番号を検出し、記憶する
発信元電話番号検出／記憶手段を備え、依頼元より依頼
を受けた送信先にファクシミリ送信が出来なかった場合
に、発信元電話番号検出／記憶手段に記憶されている発
信元電話番号を自動的に呼出して、不達情報を送出する
構成となっている。
【０００７】ここに、依頼元から呼出信号とともに送出
される発信元電話番号は、呼出信号の送信時、呼出停止
期間中に送信される信号などに含まれており、この信号
は、アメリカでは「コーラーＩＤ」、イギリスでは「コ
ーラーディスプレイ」という名称のシステムにおいて使
用されている。これらのシステムでは、電話交換局が発
信元情報サービスとして、電話番号や時刻等の情報を１
２００ｂｐｓのモデム信号に含ませ、断続する呼出信号
（例えば、２秒呼出、４秒停止）の間に付加して送信し
ている。なお、発信元電話番号を検出し、記憶する発信
元電話番号検出／記憶手段は、通信モデムや専用ＩＣ等
と、ＲＡＭやＥＥＰＲＯＭ等とで構成される。
【０００８】請求項２に記載の本発明は、請求項１に記
載の発信元電話番号検出／記憶手段が、電話回線に交流
接続された通信モデムと、この通信モデムによって検出
され、解読された発信元電話番号を記憶する発信元メモ
リを備えた構成となっている。請求項３に記載の本発明
は、依頼元から呼出信号とともに発信元電話番号が送出
されて来たときには、その発信元電話番号を記憶する一
方、依頼元から呼出信号とともに発信元電話番号が送出
されて来ないときには、ファクシミリ通信手順に従って
送信されて来る発信元電話番号を記憶して、不達通知時
には上記方法で記憶された発信元電話番号に対し自動呼
出する構成となっている。ここに、ファクシミリ通信手
順に従って送信されて来る発信元電話番号は、ハンドシ
ェイク時に依頼元から送信されて来る送信端末識別信号
（ＴＳＩ信号）が使用される。
【０００９】本発明の請求項１に記載の不達返信通知機
能付きファクシミリ装置では、呼出信号を受信すると、
発信元電話番号検出／記憶手段が、この呼出信号ととも
に送出される発信元電話番号を検出し記憶する。このフ
ァクシミリ装置では、依頼元のファクシミリ装置から画
像データを受信して、中継機として、依頼を受けた複数
の送信先に対して、順次その画像データを送信するよう
に動作する。全ての送信先に画像データの送信が終了す
ると、中継結果を依頼元に返信するが、このファクシミ
リ装置が送信不能であったり、送信先のファクシミリ装
置が通話中等で受信不能であったりして、正常に画像デ
ータが送信できなかったときには、発信元電話番号検出
／記憶手段に記憶している依頼元の発信元電話番号を読
みだして、自動的に呼出し、不達情報を送出する。
【００１０】請求項２に記載の不達返信通知機能付きフ
ァクシミリ装置では、呼出信号とともに送出される発信
元電話番号を、通信モデムによって検出し解読して、発
信元メモリに記憶する。依頼元から依頼を受けた送信先
のうち、ファクシミリ送信できないファクシミリ装置が
あった場合には、発信元メモリから依頼元の発信元電話
番号を読みだして、自動的に呼出し、不達情報を送出す
る。
【００１１】請求項３に記載の不達返信通知機能付きフ
ァクシミリ装置では、依頼元から呼出信号とともに発信
元電話番号が送出されて来たときには、その発信元電話
番号を記憶し、ファクシミリ送信できない送信先があっ
た場合には、その発信元電話番号に対し自動呼出して不
達情報を送出するが、一方、依頼元から呼出信号ととも
に発信元電話番号が送出されて来ないときには、ファク
シミリ通信手順に従って送信されて来る発信元電話番号
（ＴＳＩ信号）を記憶して、ファクシミリ送信できない
送信先があった場合には、その発信元電話番号に対し自
動呼出して不達情報を送出する。

【発明の実施の形態】以下に、添付図とともに本発明の
実施の形態について説明する。図１は、本発明に係る不
達返信通知機能付きファクシミリ装置Ｆの構成を示した
ブロック図である。このファクシミリ装置Ｆには、電話
回線Ｌに対する回線接続や回線切換を行ない、通信モデ
ム１ａを備えてファクシミリ通信手順を実行するととも
に、発信元電話番号を検出する回線制御部１、ハンドセ
ット２による通話を可能にする通話回路３、各部を制御
するためにＣＰＵ等で構成された信号処理部４、ＲＯＭ
５ａと、画像メモリや発信元メモリ等を有したＲＡＭ５
ｂとで構成された記憶部５、テンキー等で構成されたキ
ー操作部６、液晶画面等で構成された表示部７、印字出
力部８、画像読取部９等を備えている。なお、上記回線
制御部１及びＲＡＭ５ｂが、請求項１に記載の発信元電
話番号検出／記憶手段に相当する。
【００１３】回線制御部１には、電話回線Ｌに交流接続
された通信モデム１ａの他に、回線切換部１ｂ、電話回
線Ｌを介して送信される呼出信号間のモデム信号を通過
させるコンデンサ、抵抗からなる交流結合部１ｃ、トラ
ンス１ｄ、電話回線Ｌからの呼出信号を検出する呼出信
号検出回路１ｅを備えており、通信モデム１ａは、プロ
トコル信号発生回路、プロトコル信号検出回路、呼出信
号間のモデム信号や送受信される画像データを変調、復
調する変復調回路等を含んでいる。
【００１４】以下に本発明に係るファクシミリ装置Ｆの
動作を、図１，２，５を参照して説明する。このファク
シミリ装置Ｆは、電話交換局による発信元情報サービス
を好適に利用することができ、依頼元となるファクシミ
リ装置Ｆａから送信される、図５に示すような呼出信号
ＣＩを呼出信号検出回路１ｅで検出すると、呼出停止期
間中に送出される１２００ｂｐｓのモデム信号Ｓを、交
流結合部１ｃで通過させ通信モデム１ａで復調、検出
し、解読する。すると、信号処理部４は、この検出した
信号に含まれる発信元電話番号を時刻等とともに、ＲＡ
Ｍ５ｂの発信元メモリに記憶する。
【００１５】その後、ハンドシェイクが行われ、画像デ
ータをファクシミリ受信してＲＡＭ５ｂの画像メモリに
記憶して、印字出力部８による記録紙への画像データの
印字出力を可能とするとともに、各送信先Ｆｂ，Ｆｃ，
Ｆｄの電話番号や予めＲＡＭ５ｂ等に登録されている短
縮番号等を指定され、場合によっては日時を指定され
て、中継依頼を受けたときには（手順番号）、中継機
Ｆとして、依頼を受けた複数の送信先のファクシミリ装
置Ｆｂ，Ｆｃ，Ｆｄの電話番号を順に自動呼出して、画
像メモリに記憶した画像データを読みだし、ファクシミ
リ送信を行う（手順番号）。
【００１６】全ての送信先Ｆｂ，Ｆｃ，Ｆｄに対する画
像データの送信が終了すると、中継結果を依頼元Ｆａに
返信するが、送信先Ｆｂ，Ｆｃ，Ｆｄのうち、正常にフ
ァクシミリ送信できなかったファクシミリ装置があった
ときには、発信元メモリに記憶している発信元電話番号
を読みだして、依頼元Ｆａを自動的に呼出して、不達情
報を送出する（手順番号）。
【００１７】図３のステップ１００〜１１８は、上記基
本動作をフローチャートで示したものである。中継依頼
元Ｆａの電話番号を検出した後に、画像データを受信し
（ステップ１００〜１０７）、その画像データを、依頼
を受けた各送信先Ｆａ，Ｆｂ，Ｆｃに送信する（ステッ
プ１０８〜１１２）。このそれぞれの送信先Ｆｂ，Ｆ
ｃ，Ｆｄに対するファクシミリ送信は、送信が出来なか
ったときには、所定間隔をあけて所定回数まで再送され
るようになっており、それにも拘らず、送信できなかっ
た場合に不達情報の対象となる。
【００１８】不達情報を送出するときは、発信元メモリ
から依頼元Ｆａの電話番号を読み出して返信する（ステ
ップ１１３〜１１８）。なお、全てのファクシミリ送信
が正常に終了したときには、そのことを示す中継結果を
依頼元Ｆａに返信しても構わない。この図では、依頼元
Ｆａから呼出信号ＣＩとともに発信元電話番号が必ず送
出されて来る場合を示したが（ステップ１０１）、依頼
元Ｆａから発信元電話番号が送出されて来ないとき（通
信モデム１ａによって発信元電話番号が検出できないと
き）には、ファクシミリ通信手順に従って、ハンドシェ
イク時に送信されて来る発信元電話番号（ＴＳＩ信号）
を記憶して（ステップ１０４）、ファクシミリ送信でき
ない送信先Ｆｂ，Ｆｃ，Ｆｄがあった場合には、この発
信元電話番号に対し自動呼出して不達情報を送出する。
更に、ＴＳＩ信号も検出できないときには、不達情報は
送出しない。
【００１９】次に、依頼元Ｆａでの不達情報の印字出力
例を図４に示す。この図は、送信先Ｆｂ，Ｆｃ，Ｆｄの
うち、１台のファクシミリ装置（電話番号「０３−１２
３４−５６７８」）に対する送信ができなかった場合の
不達通知の例が示されており、この送信先電話番号（矢
印ア）と、本発明のファクシミリ装置Ｆの電話番号であ
る中継局電話番号（矢印イ）と、依頼元Ｆａから中継機
Ｆへの中継依頼日時（矢印ウ）と、中継依頼を行った画
像データの総ページ数（矢印エ）と、送信できなかった
ページ番号を示す送信不可ページ（矢印オ）と、縮小さ
れた画像データ（矢印カ）等が印字されている。もちろ
ん、複数台の送信先Ｆｂ，Ｆｃ，Ｆｄに対してファクシ
ミリ送信ができなかったときには、一覧印字するように
してもよい。
【００２０】次に、発信元情報サービスにおける呼出信
号の一例を図５に示す。依頼元のファクシミリ装置Ｆａ
が呼出を行うと、電話回線Ｌを介して送信される呼出信
号ＣＩ間に、１２００ｂｐｓのモデム信号Ｓが挿入され
て、中継機である本発明のファクシミリ装置Ｆに伝送さ
れる。このモデム信号Ｓの中には、発信元情報として、
少なくとも電話番号が含まれているので、この信号を復
調すれば、中継機側では、依頼元（発信元）の正確な情
報を得ることができる。

【発明の効果】本発明の請求項１，２に記載の不達返信
通知機能付きファクシミリ装置によれば、依頼元のファ
クシミリ装置において、電話番号を登録しなかったり、
誤った電話番号を登録した状態で、中継依頼を行って来
たとしても、正確な発信元電話番号を検出できるので、
依頼元から依頼された送信先にファクシミリ送信が出来
なかったときに、確実に不達情報を返信することができ
る。
【００２２】請求項３に記載の不達返信通知機能付きフ
ァクシミリ装置によれば、依頼元から呼出信号とともに
発信元電話番号が送出されて来ないときでも、従来のよ
うに、ファクシミリ通信手順に従って送信されて来る発
信元電話番号を記憶しているので、呼出信号とともに送
出される発信元電話番号が検出できない地域であって
も、中継機である本発明のファクシミリ装置から依頼元

Claims (3)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】依頼元となるファクシミリ装置から呼出を
    受けたときに、その呼出信号とともに送出される発信元
    電話番号を検出し、記憶する発信元電話番号検出／記憶
    手段を備え、上記依頼元より依頼を受けた送信先にファ
    クシミリ送信が出来なかった場合に、上記検出／記憶手
    段に記憶されている発信元電話番号を自動的に呼出し
    て、不達情報を送出する構成とした不達返信通知機能付
    きファクシミリ装置。
  2. 【請求項２】上記発信元電話番号検出／記憶手段は、電
    話回線に交流接続された通信モデムと、この通信モデム
    によって検出され、解読された発信元電話番号を記憶す
    る発信元メモリを備えた構成とした請求項１に記載の不
    達返信通知機能付きファクシミリ装置。
  3. 【請求項３】依頼元から呼出信号とともに発信元電話番
    号が送出されて来たときには、その発信元電話番号を記
    憶する一方、上記呼出信号とともに発信元電話番号が送
    出されて来ないときには、ファクシミリ通信手順に従っ
    て送信されて来る発信元電話番号を記憶して、不達通知
    時には上記方法で記憶された発信元電話番号に対し自動
    呼出するようにした不達返信通知機能付きファクシミリ
    装置。
