(57)【要約】 【課題】 愛玩動物用吸収パネルの周縁からの尿などの
排泄液の流出を防止する。 【解決手段】 吸収パネル１における吸液性コアパネル
４の側縁域１１が、中央域１０よりも厚みＴが厚く、高
吸水性ポリマー粉末１４を少なくとも３０ｇ／ｍ2含有
する。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】この発明は、愛玩動物用吸収
パネルに関し、さらに詳しくは、イヌやネコなどの愛玩
動物を飼育するときに、それらの尿などの排泄液を吸収
保持するための当該パネルに関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】実公平４−６７３号公報には、２枚の吸
水紙の間に高吸水性ポリマー粉末が介在する吸水シート
の裏面に防水シートを接着した構造の愛玩動物用吸収パ
ネルが開示されている。
【０００３】
【発明が解決しようとする課題】前記公知のシートを含
む従来の吸尿シートの多くは、主としてシート中央域で
排尿があったときにその尿を吸収するためのものであ
り、シート周縁域で排尿があったときの尿の流出防止手
段を備えていない。したがって、この種シートを使用す
ることに不慣れな愛玩動物の場合には、その周縁域での
排尿によって室内が汚れ、吸収パネルを使用した目的が
達成されないことがある。
【０００４】そこで、この発明は、吸収パネルの周縁域
から尿が妄りに流出しないようにすることを課題にして
いる。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発明は、透液性表面
シートと不透液性裏面シートとの間に吸液性コアパネル
が介在してなる愛玩動物用吸収パネルにおいて、前記コ
アパネルは、相対的に薄い中央域と厚い側縁域とを有
し、該側縁域が前記コアパネルの周側縁の過半を占め、
該側縁域の幅が少なくとも２０ｍｍであることを特徴と
する。
【０００６】この発明の好ましい実施態様においては、
前記側縁域の厚みが前記中央域の厚みの少なくとも１．
５倍であり、少なくとも３０ｇ／ｍ2の高吸水性ポリマ
ー粉末を含む場合がある。

【実施例】この発明に係る吸収パネルの詳細を添付の図
面を参照して説明すると、以下のとおりである。
【０００８】図１に部分破断斜視図で示す吸収パネル１
は、主としてイヌやネコなどを室内で飼育するときに使
用する縦長のものであって、不織布製の透液性表面シー
ト２と、プラスチックフィルム製の不透液性裏面シート
３と、両シート２，３間に介在する吸液性のコアパネル
４とからなり、前後端縁５と左右側縁６とを有する。コ
アパネル４は、相対的に厚みが薄い中央域１０とその全
周に位置する厚い側縁域１１とを有する。表裏面シート
２，３は、コアパネル４の周縁から延出して互いに当接
する内面が溶着して水密に接合している。
【０００９】図２は、図１のＩＩ−ＩＩ線端面図であ
る。コアパネル４の中央域１０は、厚みｔを有し、その
外周を形成する側縁域１１は、断面台形状であって、少
なくとも２０ｍｍの幅Ｗと中央域１０の厚みｔの少なく
とも１．５倍の厚みＴとを有する。厚みｔは、適宜の値
にすることができるが、好ましくは１〜１０ｍｍであ
り、厚みＴは、好ましくは１．５〜２０ｍｍである。中
央域１０は、主として粉砕パルプ１３で構成され、最高
１５ｇ／ｍ2までの高吸水性ポリマー粉末１４や最高２
０重量％までの熱可塑性合成繊維１５などを含むことが
可能である。側縁域１１は、粉砕パルプ１３と、少なく
とも３０ｇ／ｍ2の高吸水性ポリマー粉末１４とを含
み、その他に最高２０重量％までの熱可塑性合成繊維１
５などを含むことが可能である。コアパネル４におい
て、高吸水性ポリマー粉末１４は、裏面シート３近傍に
偏在していることが好ましく、特に側縁域１１では、ポ
リマー粉末１４の５０重量％以上が厚み方向の下半分に
偏在していることが好ましい。そのようにすることで、
尿がパルプ１３によって速やかに吸収された後、さらに
高吸水性ポリマー粉末１４へ移行し、吸収パネル１から
の流出が確実に阻止される。表裏面シート２，３は、各
々が所要の部位でコアパネル４に接合するか、コアパネ
ル４が局部的に取り除かれて、そこで互いに接合してお
り、それらの接合によってコアパネル４が所要の形状に
保たれている。コアパネル４が熱可塑性合成繊維を含む
場合には、該繊維がパルプ繊維間での尿の拡散を促進す
る他に、表裏面シート２，３とコアパネル４との熱融着
による接合を可能にしたり、コアパネル４の加熱下の賦
型を可能にしたりする効果を奏する。
【００１０】図３は、図１と異なる態様の吸収パネル１
の斜視図である。この縦長のパネル１では、コアパネル
４の側縁域１１の厚みＴが左右の側縁６に沿う部分での
み厚く、端縁５に沿う部分では中央域１０とほぼ同じ厚
みを有している。
【００１１】この発明において、表面シート２には不織
布の他に、開孔プラスチックフイルムなどを使用するこ
とができる。各部材を接合するには、ホットメルト型接
着剤などの接着剤を使用する他に、熱溶融性素材に対す
る熱溶着の技術を利用することもできる。

【発明の効果】この発明に係る吸収パネルは、吸液性コ
アパネルの側縁域の厚みがその中央域のそれよりも厚
く、そこには高吸水性ポリマー粉末が含まれるから、周
縁域から流出しようとする尿を堰き止め、その尿などの
排泄液を該ポリマー粉末で吸収し、排泄液を流動不能な
状態にすることができる。この吸収パネルでは、その側
縁域近傍で排泄されても排泄液の流出を阻止できるか
ら、該パネルの使用に不慣れな愛玩動物に使用しても室
内を汚すことがない。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】透液性表面シートと不透液性裏面シートと
    の間に吸液性コアパネルが介在してなる愛玩動物用吸収
    パネルであって、 前記コアパネルは、相対的に薄い中央域と厚い側縁域と
    を有し、該側縁域が前記コアパネルの周側縁の過半を占
    め、該側縁域の幅が少なくとも２０ｍｍであることを特
    徴とする前記パネル。
  2. 【請求項２】前記周縁域の厚みが前記中央域の厚みの少
    なくとも１．５倍である請求項１記載のパネル。
  3. 【請求項３】前記周縁域が少なくとも３０ｇ／ｍ2の高
    吸水性ポリマー粉末を含む請求項１，２のいずれかに記
    載のパネル。
