However, in the above-mentioned conventional EL display panel, a mark (dot or line) serving as a guide for cutting out to the specified contour at the time of manufacturing is printed in the margin of the transparent substrate. After cutting into the outer shape as shown in FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, since the mark does not remain, there is no standard for cutting by the user, and it is inconvenient to cut into a predetermined shape and size. Further, in the EL display panel 110 of FIG.
It is possible to cut into half-cuts or four-cuts along the long groove 107, but it is difficult to accurately cut into other dimensions, in particular, a strip having a small area.

As shown in this embodiment, a transparent electrode lead-out portion 2b made of carbon paste is formed on the transparent electrode exposed portion 2a to ensure the reliability of connection.
The transparent electrode lead-out portion 2b also secures a sufficient distance for insulation with the back electrode layer 5. A transparent electrode voltage drop prevention band 6 made of silver paste or the like is formed on the transparent electrode exposed portion 2a via a transparent electrode extraction portion 2b. The transparent electrode voltage drop prevention band 6 is for increasing conductivity,
It is formed in a strip shape along the outer periphery of the transparent electrode layer 2.

On the back electrode layer 5, a back electrode voltage drop prevention band 7 made of silver paste or the like for enhancing conductivity is formed similarly to the transparent electrode voltage drop prevention band 6. The back electrode voltage drop prevention band 7 is formed in a strip shape on the outer peripheral portion of the back electrode layer 5, and is formed integrally with this in a cross shape (lattice shape) inside the back electrode layer 5 in FIG. 1. . Thereby, in the back electrode layer 5 made of carbon, it is possible to prevent the voltage from dropping as the distance from the voltage applying portion increases. The number and size of the grids of the back electrode voltage drop prevention band 7 can be increased or decreased according to the size of the area of the light emitting portion of the EL display panel.

Further, a long groove 8 is formed along the longitudinal direction inside the cross-shaped portion of the back electrode voltage drop prevention band 7 formed inside the back electrode layer 5, and the inside of the back electrode is exposed. It is a part 5a. As a result, the user of this EL display panel can cut along the long groove 8 when cutting the EL display panel into half cut, four cut, or eight cut, and the individual EL display after cutting can be cut. Since the voltage drop prevention zone is formed on the outer peripheral portion of the panel, uneven light emission does not occur.

A plurality of recesses 6a are formed on the outer peripheral edge of the transparent electrode voltage drop prevention band 6. This recess 6a
Is a reference (scale) when the user cuts the EL display panel. In FIG. 1, the recesses 6a provided on the left and right outer edges of the transparent electrode voltage drop prevention band 6 are
The cutting lines when cut in accordance with this are formed at the same position in the vertical direction so that they become horizontal lines, and the recesses 6a provided at the upper and lower outer edge portions are the cutting lines when cut in accordance with this. Are formed at the same position in the lateral direction so that the line becomes a vertical line. The interval between the recesses 6a ... Can be set arbitrarily. Further, the shape of the concave portion 6a is not limited, and may be formed in a V shape or the like other than the rectangular shape shown in the drawing. Further, if the shape or size of the recessed portions 6a is formed so as to be different for each predetermined number, it becomes easier to count as a scale, which is more convenient. Furthermore, a recess similar to the above may be provided on the inner peripheral edge of the transparent electrode voltage drop prevention band 6.

Next, the method of using the EL display panel will be described. The user of the EL display panel can cut the recess 6a into a desired shape and size by using, for example, a ruler and a cutter as a cutting guide. In that case,
Not only can the EL display panel be cut in half, four, or eight, but it can also be cut into smaller strips. It is also easy to cut diagonally, and it is possible to cut into various shapes and sizes.

A plurality of concave portions 7a ... Are formed at equal intervals. Since other configurations are similar to those of the above-described embodiment, the same components are designated by the same reference numerals and the description thereof will be omitted. The recess 7a can be formed on the inner peripheral edge of the back electrode voltage drop prevention band 7, but it is preferable to form the recess 7a on the outer peripheral edge as described above because a wider range can be covered. The recess 7a is formed simultaneously with the printing of the back electrode voltage drop prevention band 7 in the manufacturing process of the EL display panel.

FIG. 4 shows still another embodiment. In this EL display panel, a plurality of recesses 7a are formed in the outer peripheral edge of the back electrode voltage drop prevention band 7 on the back electrode layer 5.
Are formed at equal intervals, and a plurality of recesses 8a are formed at predetermined intervals on the inner peripheral portion of the long groove 8. By doing so, there is an advantage that the recess 7a or the recess 8a remains on each side of each cut panel even after the EL display panel is cut into half, four, and eight. Therefore, it becomes easier to cut it into a desired size. Since other configurations are similar to those of the above-described embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the same components are designated by the same reference numerals and the description thereof will be omitted.

As described above, according to the EL display panel of the present invention, the scale serving as a cutting guide is provided at the peripheral edge of the transparent electrode voltage drop prevention band or the outer peripheral edge of the back electrode voltage drop prevention band. By forming the concave portions that serve a role at predetermined intervals, cutting is easy and time-consuming during use, and the printing process does not increase during manufacturing, so that the structure is low-cost and simple.
