Background of the Invention Porous membranes are used in a wide variety of industrial applications. Such membranes are often used for gas or vapor separation, reverse osmosis, electrochemical applications, hyperfiltration, ultrafiltration and microfiltration. Such membranes can also be used to manipulate chemical reactions involving selective ion separation. Membranes are typically thin, two-dimensional objects with a thickness of less than 0.5 mm and a porosity of up to 20%. The pores in these membranes have a radius of a few nanometers to a few microns. The flow of liquid or gas through the membrane is driven by a pressure or electric field gradient. Conventional methods of making such porous membranes deposit adherent, highly continuous layers of materials such as alumina and aluminum. These materials have been deposited using many techniques such as tape casting, extrusion, vapor deposition, both physical vapor deposition (PVD) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD), and electrochemical methods. Tape casting and extrusion have a limited range of materials that can be used to make porous membranes. The degree of membrane porosity or pore density obtained with either of these techniques is also limited. Vapor deposition is a very slow and expensive process and is not suitable for the production of large parts. Other techniques, such as electrochemical methods, also have the disadvantage of having such size limitations. Moreover, the types of materials that can be used in certain electrochemical methods are very limited. Sol-gel and hydrothermal techniques for the production of porous membranes are also known. The limitations of these techniques are described by Ramesh Bhave in a book on this subject (Inorganic Membranes, van Nostrand 1991). For example, these techniques are too expensive and the number of materials available is limited. Further, the use of sol-gel technology for the production of porous membranes is described in YS. Lin and AJ. Burggraaf, J. Amer. Cera m. Soc., Vol. 4, 1991, p. 219. Some known materials have properties that may be useful for certain porous membrane applications, such as heat resistance and corrosion resistance. Although some of these materials have been used in the manufacture of such porous membranes by prior art methods such as those described above, many of these materials are compatible with these prior art methods. Not used for a variety of reasons, including lack of sex. Known materials and methods known to be compatible and capable of producing effective membranes are generally complex and expensive. Therefore, it is more cost-effective to manufacture porous membranes that use not only materials known for porous membrane applications, but also materials that have desirable properties but are not previously known for the manufacture of such membranes. A way to do is needed. Summary of the invention The present invention relates to a more cost effective method for producing a porous membrane. The present invention is also directed to methods that can be used with a wider variety of materials to produce porous membranes with a wider range of properties and applications. Although theoretically complex, the method of the present invention is much simpler to implement and less complex than many prior methods for making porous membranes. The method according to the invention can also produce multilayer as well as single-layer integrated membranes and layers of composite membranes. Mostly used to make inorganic membranes, inorganic and organic multilayer membranes can also be made by the disclosed methods, either directly or by secondary operations. The method of the present invention utilizes the micropyretic (ie, combustion synthesis) principle. As used herein, the micro-heating process is a process in which extremely high internal heat is rapidly generated inside a compact or shape of green powder. This heat is strong enough to cause sintering between the powder particles. However, the high heat does not last long, thereby preventing densification. This rapid high temperature heating process may result in the propagation of micro-heating fronts or waves, or the process may start at many points throughout the green shape at the same time. Thus, the method of the present invention produces a flexible slurry of at least one micropyrogen and at least one liquid carrier. The slurry is then dried to a green shape with the desired geometry. Then, the unfired shape is fired or burned to produce a porous membrane. The micropyrogen used in the slurry reacts exothermically (ie, gives heat) during the burning of the green form, adding the desired components to the membrane after burning as well as clean nascent products from combustion. It is a substance. The size of the reaction particles is tens of microns, but the size of the micro-exothermic products (ie, phases) is generally less than 1 micron. A typical reaction is, for example, Cr 2 O Three + Al + B, Ni + Al or Ti + B or C + Al + SiO 2 , Etc., and these react spontaneously to produce CrB. 2 , Ni Three Al or TiB 2 Or SiC and Al 2 O Three To give off a large amount of heat. The adiabatic temperature for such a micro-exothermic reaction can be as high as 6,500 ° K. The products of the micro-exothermic reaction are electrically conductive and the final membrane can be used as a thin or thick film resistor, as well as an electrode in heaters, electrochemical reactions, batteries or fuel cells. Mixtures of micropyrogenic substances are also possible. These slurries may also contain combustible or non-combustible diluents or additives, these substances being the product itself or various other forms of substances, for example having a predetermined size. It may be powder, foil or fiber. These diluents can be used to adjust the final membrane composition and properties, and the density and size of the membrane pores. These diluents can be added to refractory materials, metallic materials (ie elemental metals or intermetallics), metal organic compounds, pyrolytic organosilicon polymers and other oxidizing components in addition to other ceramic materials. Combustible material. The metallic or ceramic material is generally in the form of particles or powder. A variety of liquids are suitable as carriers and diluents for the micropyrogen. Carriers can be aqueous or non-aqueous and plasticizers. A carrier, such as some plasticizers, can include components that act as diluents. Possible plasticizers include methyl cellulose and related ingredients, clays, silicates, borates, lubricants of all kinds including stearates, organic liquids, colloidal liquids or mixtures thereof. After the production of slurries (very close to liquid to very close to powder), a green or powder compacted form of the membrane with the desired geometry is produced. The viscosity of the slurry can affect the final porosity (ie, pore density) and pore size of the green shape and thus the membrane. Green features can be prepared by using any of a variety of well-known coating techniques, such as applying (brush or roller) the slurry onto the surface, dipping, spraying, or pouring the slurry onto the substrate or It can be manufactured by coating on the surface of an object. Next, the applied slurry is dried by air drying, baking, or the like. It may be desirable to soak the dried green shape before burning, at an intermediate temperature above the drying temperature. Generally flat membranes are manufactured, but other shapes such as cylindrical are also conceivable. If multiple coatings are needed to obtain the required thickness or are desired to make a multilayer membrane, each coating should be at least partially dried before the next coating is added. At least some membrane materials may have additional slurry applied to and accumulated in the already fired coating. It is also conceivable to repair the membrane on the spot during use without replacing it with a completely new membrane. In general, the micro-heating layer provides heat for bonding several layers, and may also provide sufficient heat to bond these layers to the coated surface. As a result, the finished membrane can be removed from the surface or permanently attached to it. In addition to producing a membrane having multiple micro-heating layers, a membrane having one or more non-micro-heating layers can be produced if desired. For example, a non-micro heating layer having smaller pores can be sandwiched between two micro heating layers having larger pores. In this example, the non-micro heating layer is the membrane. Two modes can be used for burning the green membrane: the wave mode or the thermal explosion mode. In the wave pattern, combustion begins at a remote location and spreads in a wave pattern across the entire green membrane. In the thermal explosion mode, the combustion reaction is initiated at several locations instead of being initiated at one point by a concentrated heat source. Pore size depends on the temperature of combustion (Tc) and the velocity of waves ( u ). Further, Tc and u are particle size, atmosphere (including vacuum), use of combustible and non-combustible diluents, initial temperature (Ti) of unfired shape before combustion, and soaking temperature if used. Can be adjusted by. After formation, burning the green membrane can be accomplished by any of a number of firing or combustion techniques including direct flame, focused sunlight, plasma, laser or electron beam. In addition, if the substrate or object is electrically conductive, an electric current may be passed through the substrate or object to burn the green shape. The coated substrate or object can be placed inside the furnace for a predetermined temperature and time, or heated by induction methods or radiant heating. Solid-solid reactions such as Ni + Al → NiAl are most commonly used, but solid-gas reactions such as in the synthesis of refractory nitrides such as TiN where nitrogen gas reacts with the refractory metal are also used. It Detailed description of the invention The present invention relates to a wide variety of single or multilayer porous membranes for use in a wide variety of industrial applications. These membranes are usually thin, two-dimensional objects, single-layer membranes having a thickness of 50 microns to 10 mm. The pores in the membrane of the present invention are believed to be between 0.1 and 500 microns in size. Since the pores have different shapes, the pore diameter is generally determined by converting the pore area into the corresponding circular area. The pore density is in the range of 20-80%. The membrane of the present invention is synthesized using cost-effective and flexible methods in accordance with the principles of the present invention. These principles include the use of micro-heating technology (see US Pat. No. 5,110,688 for early application of this technology). In this principle of micro-exothermic synthesis, a green compact or shape consisting of a mixture of reactant powders is locally burned to form a product. The heat released from the product formation, if sufficiently exothermic, allows the reaction to propagate through the compact in the form of combustion waves. Combustion is solid to solid (eg Ni + Al → NiAl or Ni Three Al or NiAl Three ) Or a solid to a gas (for example, Ti + N → TiN). The micro-pyrothermal products produced in both cases are porous. The high heat that is generated is sufficient to rapidly fuse the solid powders, but the high heat is generated for only a short period of time, so it hardly densifies. To obtain a product with the required properties and microstructure, it is important to understand the parameters that control the process. The two most important parameters characteristic of the reaction are wave propagation u And the maximum temperature Tc obtained during combustion. These parameters depend on thermophysical properties such as heat of reaction, specific heat capacity, thermal diffusivity, activation energy, and processing variables such as thermal environment including reactant size, compaction density and initial temperature. . The above combustion method is called the wave mode of combustion. Furthermore, a thermal explosion mode is also possible if the combustion reaction starts at several points. For example, combustion can be conducted in a furnace instead of starting along a point or line with a concentrated heat source. An understanding of the thermodynamics of this process can be used to theoretically predict the maximum temperature Tc obtained during combustion. This is also called the adiabatic temperature or the combustion temperature. The adiabatic temperature that can be theoretically calculated by assuming the total enthalpy change (ΔH °) during this process is Given by The variable T is the temperature, T i Is the initial temperature, T c Is the combustion temperature. ΔH i ° is the change in enthalpy of reaction at the initial temperature. Since this process is adiabatic, ΔH ° = 0 and the rise in temperature (T) is equal to the change in reaction enthalpy ΔH ° divided by the specific heat Cp of the product. This enthalpy can be converted to useful purposes such as the generation or adjustment of porosity by sintering or temperature acquisition. The experimentally measured maximum temperature value (Tmax) is usually lower than the theoretical value due to heat loss. The theoretical value gives an upper bound and is useful in predicting that phase transformation will occur. This temperature can be controlled by changing the initial temperature and, if used, the soaking temperature by adding non-reacted components. The microheating kinetics may be homogeneous or heterogeneous. In the case of homogeneous combustion, the system is uniform throughout. Therefore, solute delivery and mixing is not a limiting step. In the case of heterogeneous combustion, the system is not uniform at the start of combustion or becomes non-uniform after combustion has started. In such a case, the solute transport becomes a rate limiting stage. In the case of membrane formation, both such reactions are important for pore control and distribution. Wave propagation could be under steady-state conditions or deviated from steady-state conditions. Under steady-state conditions, the wave propagates at a constant velocity and the temperature and concentration across the wave remain constant. Combustion wave propagation can also occur in a pulsating fashion, depending on the values of the thermophysical constants of the reactants and products. This type of behavior is due to the excess enthalpy characteristic of concentrated phase combustion or gasless combustion. Pulsatile propagation involves alternating increases and decreases in temperature and velocity as the waves propagate. Another type of unsteady propagation is also possible, where the reaction zone proceeds in the form of a helix. Both steady and unsteady combustion can be used in the membrane synthesis of the present invention. The basic method of making or synthesizing the porous membranes of the present invention involves making a slurry having at least one micropyrogenic material and at least one liquid carrier for the micropyrogenic material. Preferably, this slurry is applied to the surface of a substrate or object and dried on the surface to form a membrane green shape. The unfired shape of the membrane is then fired or burned according to the micro-heating principle of the invention to form a porous membrane. It is often preferable to modify the slurry by adding other substances called diluents. The slurry can have a consistency from very liquid to very powdery. Such slurries of the present invention may include various combinations of the following ingredients. a) A substance or material having a slight exothermicity. These materials are capable of reacting to produce heat as well as clean nascent products from combustion, Ni, Al, Ti, B, Si 2, Nb, C, Cr. 2 O Three , Zr, Ta, Mg, Zn, MgO, ZnO 2 , ZrO 2 , TiO 2 , B 2 O Three , Fe or a combination thereof, particles, fibers, or foils. A typical reaction is, for example, Cr 2 O Three + Al + B, Ni + Al or Ti + B or C + Al + SiO 2 , Etc., which react spontaneously with CrB. 2 , Ni Three Al or TiB 2 Or SiC and Al 2 O Three Give off a large amount of heat. The adiabatic temperature of such a micro-exothermic reaction can be as high as 6,500 ° K. Tables I, II, and III partially show the microexothermic reactions (reactants and products) and the approximate amount of heat released in each reaction. ΔH (KJ / mole) is the enthalpy emission for the reaction, T ad K is the adiabatic temperature expected to be reached in such a reaction. Enthalpy emission and adiabatic temperature are not known exactly for all reactions in Tables I-III. However, all of the reactions shown in the table are considered sufficiently exothermic. Table IV shows some microexothermic reactions and stoichiometry. It is believed that it is possible to mix the components of Tables I-IV or to add a diluent, which diluent may be the product itself or a powder, foil, fiber or of a predetermined size. Other materials in other forms may be used. It is also believed that each of the reactants and the products of the reactions shown in Tables I-III also function as diluents. b) A liquid carrier that is aqueous or non-aqueous and can have a low or high viscosity (ie a liquid suspension medium). This carrier can be used for various types of clays such as bentonite, fused silica, kaolinite and related compounds, silicates, borates, stearates and MoS. 2 And other lubricants including PbS, methyl cellulose and related compounds, organic liquids such as acetone, polyvinyl butyryl, polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, various types of oils, tetraisoamyl oxide, and plasticizers including water (ie, Most often it is selected from the group of binder suspensions). The plasticizer may be a colloidal liquid such as colloidal alumina, colloidal ceria, colloidal yttria, colloidal silica, colloidal zirconia, monoaluminum phosphate, colloidal cerium acetate or mixtures thereof. The colloidal binder is obtained from a suspension containing colloidal precursors and reagents which is a solution of at least one salt such as hydrochloride, sulphate, nitrate, chlorate, perchlorate or a metal organic compound. be able to. Colloidal binders are usually relatively thin aqueous or non-aqueous suspensions, but it is also possible to use concentrated colloids or partially or completely precipitated colloids. Alternatively, the colloidal binder can be obtained from a suspension containing a chelating agent such as acetylacetone and ethyl acetoacetate. When using a colloid, three types of colloid treatment are possible. The first is the gelation of certain polysaccharide solutions. The other two types involve colloids and metal organic compounds. These latter two types mix very fine materials. A colloid can be defined as comprising a phase dispersed in a dispersion medium, in this case a liquid, with at least one dimension of 0.5 nm (nanometer) to about 10 microns (micrometer). The size of this dimension distinguishes colloids from bulk systems in that (a) a very large surface area and (b) most molecules are present on the surface of the colloid system. Up to 40% of the molecules are present on the surface. Colloidal systems important to the present invention are both thermodynamically stable lyophilic types (including macromolecular systems such as polymers) and kinetically stable lyophobic types (systems containing particles). . In forming the slurry, new materials and other agents or diluents can be mixed with the plasticizer. c) One of the diluents is a powder additive including carbides, suicides, borides, nitrides, oxides, carbonitrides, oxynitrides and combinations thereof. When choosing a combination of powder additives, the choice of particle size is important. When choosing a particle size of less than 100 microns and choosing a combination of powder additives, it is preferred to choose a particle size that varies so that the packing of the particles is optimized. Generally, the particle size ratio is from about 2: 1 to about 5: 1. In some cases, packing is optimized by choosing one component to be one-third the size of the other, ie, a particle size of about 3: 1. d) Metal particles, intermetallic particles, or combinations thereof, eg Ni, Pt, Al, Cr, Zr, Zn, Mg, NiAl, NiAl. Three , CrSi, CrB, etc. The size of these particles, like the powder additives described above, is also preferably varied to achieve optimum packing. e) Metal organic compounds, mainly of the general formula M (OR) z (In the formula, M is a metal or a complex cation composed of two or more elements, R is an alkyl chain, and z is usually a number of 1 to 12). Alternatively, these metal alkoxides can be described as a solution in which a molecule of organic group is bound to a metal atom through oxygen. Examples of metal alkoxides are silicon tetraisoamyl oxide, aluminum butoxide, aluminum isopropoxide, tetraethyl orthosilicate, and the like. The organic moieties of other metal organic compounds can include formates, acetates and acetylacetonates. f) Pyrolyzable chlorosilanes, polycarbosilanes, polysilazanes and other organosilicon polymers can be used as binders to thermally decompose into products useful for antioxidant. Such compounds are expected to participate in a microexothermic reaction, but in a complex manner, to increase the yield of useful products with effective membrane morphology and size. Organosilicon polymers are generally soluble in water and should be avoided in making membranes for filtration of aqueous solutions. g) An alkaline or acidic solution may be needed to adjust the pH of the slurry. Use standard laboratory alkalis and acids. h) adding a combustible and / or oxidizable liquid or solid component, such as a polymer (eg polyurethane, polyester) or carbonaceous material, to the slurry and finally combusting it to a predetermined pore size in the membrane. And the pore volume (density) can remain. Considering the above component groups (a) to (h), the slurry used in the present invention is selected from at least one of the groups (a) and (b), and optionally from the groups (c) to (h). It is composed of one or more kinds of components. The components selected from groups (c)-(h) are generally considered diluents. The components of groups (c) to (h) are (1) adjusting the final composition of the membrane, (2) adjusting the rate of the microexothermic reaction (ie, the velocity of wave propagation). u And adjusting the combustion temperature Tc), (3) adding another phase to the membrane structure, and / or (4) adjusting the pore size and pore density in the membrane. , Components (a) and (b) (ie the micropyrogen and liquid carrier) to a basic slurry. The carrier of group (b) may include components that act as diluents. Further, certain materials may be present in more than one of these items. For example, silica or aluminum can be included in the carrier in colloidal form and as an additive in powder form. Also, particulate nickel and aluminum can be present as micro-exothermic reactants, but in excess of stoichiometric amounts, with the excess forming particulate additives. Further, the powder additive may be the same as the reaction product of the slightly exothermic reaction. Tables V and VI show examples of representative micro-exothermic and non-micro-exothermic slurry compositions, respectively. Once the desired slurry mixture is produced, the slurry is dried to form a green shape having the desired geometry. Preferably, the slurry is applied to the surface of the substrate or object. The applied slurry is then dried by air drying or by baking at a relatively low temperature, for example in an oven, so that a micro-exothermic reaction does not start. There are various methods of applying the slurry, such as painting (by a brush or roller), dipping, spraying, or pouring a liquid onto the surface. Generally, each coating of the slurry is dried before adding another coating. However, the lower coating need not be completely dry before applying the next coating. If one or more coatings containing micro-pyrophoric components are present, it is preferable to completely dry these coatings prior to firing (ie, the baking step). Multiple coatings may be required to achieve the desired layer thickness. Depending on the composition of the slurry, additional coatings can be added to the already fired layer for repair or further buildup. If it is necessary to improve the compactness of the membrane, the green membrane is heated with a suitable heat source, such as a torch (eg butane or oxyacetylene), laser, furnace, etc., even in the absence of micro-exothermic components. Is preferred. Such heating is preferably done in air, but could be done in other oxidizing or inert or reducing atmospheres. Generally, the micro-heating layer provides heat for bonding several layers as well as bonding to a substrate or object. Although the present invention allows the manufacture of membranes having a plurality of micro-heating layers, it is also possible to manufacture multilayer membranes having one or more non-micro-heating layers if desired. These non-micro heating layers can be made of polymer, for example. If desired, the binding of the coating to the surface of the substrate or object can be enhanced by surface treatment. Prior to coating, the surface can be sandblasted or pickled or treated with a flux of cryolite or another combination of fluoride and chloride. Similarly, the substrate can be washed with an organic solvent such as acetone to remove oily materials and other debris prior to coating. After coating and drying the surface of the substrate or object, a final coating of a liquid containing one or more of the components (a) to (e) above can be lightly applied before use. Such light coatings can be applied by dipping or painting. As an additional step, chemical or surface-active compounds can be added to the membrane layer or incorporated into the membrane after combustion. In the case of micropyrogenic coatings, an additional step after the slurry coating is dried is the firing or burning of the slurry components (ie the membrane in the unfired state). Combustion of the green membrane can be carried out by direct flame, concentrated sunlight, plasma, laser or electron beam. Further, if the substrate or object is conductive, the green shape can be burned by passing an electric current through the substrate or object. The coated substrate or object can also be placed inside a furnace at a predetermined temperature and time or heated by induction or radiant heat. The applied slurry contains particulate material that sinters above a certain temperature, especially reactive and / or non-reactive materials that react sinter at temperatures above about 0.5 Tm. Here, Tm is the melting point of the lowest melting reaction product. Porous membranes produced according to the present invention have once-variable additional properties because the excess enthalpy from the heat source can be used to change the nature and content of the membrane pores. That is, additional heat can be applied to the membrane to reduce the pore size and pore density in the membrane. This method is convenient for obtaining a membrane having a pore size of 10 nanometers to 100 microns. It is also conceivable to use the principles of the present invention and repair the membrane in place of replacing it. The invention is particularly suitable for the production of porous membranes used in high temperature and corrosive environments. Furthermore, the method according to the invention is mainly used for the synthesis of inorganic monolithic and composite monolayer and multilayer membranes, but multilayer membranes with inorganic interlayers are also possible. Inorganic membranes are generally superior to organic membranes because they are less reactive to organic corrosive liquids and hot liquids and gases. After production, the porous membrane can be further impregnated with organic materials or other slurries, including micropyrogenic slurries, colloids, etc., to improve the properties of the initially produced membrane. The following examples further illustrate the invention. Example 1 A micropyrogenic slurry was applied on top of the dense graphite and copper blocks so that a non-adhesive membrane was synthesized. Reactive powders of elemental titanium (purity 99.5%) and boron (purity 92%) both of -325 mesh (less than 44 microns) in size were mechanically mixed in equimolar ratio for about 15 minutes. , 30% by volume colloidal silica and 70% by volume carrier consisting of aluminum phosphate were formed into a slurry. The powder / carrier ratio was 10 grams / 1 ml. The carrier may be 0-50% by volume colloidal silica and 100-50% by volume monoaluminum phosphate. The powder / carrier ratio may be 10 g / 10 ml or 20 g / ml. Although this slurry was applied by brush coating, it may be applied by roll coating, spraying, dipping or pouring. The applied slurry layer was air dried in an atmosphere of 50% relative humidity for about 15-30 minutes to form a layer about 200 micrometers thick. Additional layers could be applied after each layer was dried. The drying rate was adjusted so that cracking did not occur. After this drying step, the unfired membrane was burned with oxy-acetylene torch. It can also be burned with a laser, an electron beam, a propane torch, an oxy-acetylene torch or a concentrated spot of sunlight. The minute exothermic front spread throughout the sample and the sample peeled off after the synthesis was completed. The synthesized material is TiB / TiB 2 Which was found to be highly fire resistant. The membrane can be cooled with a cold air jet to maintain the pore size after the microexothermic reaction front or wave has passed. Example 2 Ni and Al powders are replaced with Ni Three Al, NiAl and / or NiAl Three Several membranes were made by mixing in a composition that gives The size was about 3 microns for Ni particles and about 1 micron for Al particles. The three slurries were prepared by mixing Ni and Al particles of colloidal alumina, ceria and zirconia (10 g powder / 3 ml carrier). A layer of each slurry was deposited on a metallic substrate and a highly porous alumina substrate. After burning, the membranes separated from the metal substrate but remained adhered to the ceramic substrate. Each membrane had a porosity of 40%, an average pore size of about 4 microns and a thickness of about 200-300 microns. Example 3 B with a particle size of 40 microns each 2 O Three , TiO 2 , And Al powder in a molar ratio (3B 2 O Three ) + (10Al) + (3TiO 2 ) Mixed. These powders were mixed with a polyurethane paint diluent and applied to tantalum substrates. Care was taken not to remove the previously applied coating after each application of the slurry. The layers were stacked to a thickness of 550 microns. The layers were then burned to give a porous membrane which could be removed from the tantalum substrate. The final composition of the membrane is TiB 2 / Al 2 O Three Met. Example 4 A slurry was prepared containing 17.3 wt% aluminum powder (1-44 microns), 78.9 wt% carbon powder (amorphous or crystalline), and 3.8 wt% colloidal alumina (optionally used). This slurry was brushed onto multiple porous silica substrates to a thickness of about 500 microns. The coated substrate was heated in an oven at 1000 ° C. for about 5 minutes or with a torch flame. Then, the base material is dried ice (CO 2 ) Was cooled in a reducing atmosphere. Example 5 Al 26.29% by weight, B 2 O Three 20.36% by weight, TiB 2 A micropyrogenic powder mixture was prepared containing 23.35% by weight and 30% by weight carbon powder. This micropyrogenic powder is mixed with a certain amount of colloidal alumina and more carbon powder, and 38.5% by weight of micropyrogenic powder + 38.5% by weight of carbon powder + 23% by weight of colloidal alumina (or 2% by weight of methylcellulose). Mixed so that it became an aqueous solution). The above slurry was brush coated on the surface of a plurality of porous alumina substrates. The coated substrate was heated in a furnace to 1100 ° C. or until a torch flame started combustion. The coated substrate is then dried with CO 2 In a reducing atmosphere. Gases such as Ar, He, N, could also be used. In Examples 4 and 5 above, a predominantly carbonaceous material was used to make the porous membrane. The following treatment methods have been found to be particularly effective in collecting the porous membrane after combustion, a micro-heating step. In the unfired state, these membranes, whether in the single-layer state or in the multi-layer state, tend to adhere to the first coated substrate. The substrate is a non-porous metal, graphite or ceramic, and the membrane material (typically at least about 10 -6 Even if there is a thermal expansion coefficient mismatch between the substrate and the substrate, the impact of the combustion front and the corresponding expansion or contraction of the membrane are sufficient for the membrane to cleanly detach from the substrate. When a 200 micron thick layer containing 38 grams of boron, 162 grams of titanium and 10 ml / gram of polyurethane was applied to a graphite substrate and burned with a propane torch, the resulting membrane itself detached after the firing process and was not damaged. Will be completely recovered. The membrane had a pore size of about 0.2 microns to about 500 microns and a pore density of about 60%. This membrane consists of TiB formed from the exothermic reaction of Ti and B. 2 It was made of Furthermore, the desorption process can be enhanced by waxing the substrate surface before applying the membrane. In another embodiment of the method of the present invention, a membrane slurry is applied between two large pore size porous materials prior to combustion to obtain a tough (ie thicker, stronger) body containing the membrane. To do. Similarly, the slurry can be applied to one side of the porous body prior to combustion to provide toughness. In each case, the porous material is chosen so that the membrane remains intimately attached to the porous body during and after combustion. This embodiment is further described with respect to Examples 6-9 and Figures 1-3. Example 6 As shown in FIG. 1, alumina (Al) was formed on the porous support layer (that is, the substrate 12) by the minute heat generation method of the present invention. 2 O Three ) And an integrated membrane 10 comprising a composite membrane layer 11 having a silicon carbide (SiC) phase. Porous alumina and silica (SiO 2 ). Both support layers were used. Two types of micro-exothermic slurry samples were prepared. The composition of each is as follows. Each slurry sample was applied onto a respective type of support layer 12 using a brush to form a sample of the integrated membrane 10 including the green composite membrane layer 11. The samples were dried in an oven at 50 ° C for about 12 hours and then at 100 ° C for about 3 hours. The dried sample was then burned at 1000 ° C. in a furnace to obtain an integrated membrane 10 containing a micro-heating composite material membrane layer 11 adhered to the porous support layer 12. The membrane layer 11 of each sample has a porosity of about 55%, a pore size of about 0.5 micron to about 2 microns, and a particle size of about 1 micron to about 4 microns. The pore size distribution of the micropyrogenic membrane is adjusted by adding various diluents. These additives may be large particles or small particles. Nanometer sized silica particles 20 are obtained from the colloid after the drying process. These silica particles 20 act as a diluent for filling the large pores 22 formed between the silicon carbide particles 24 and the alumina particles 25, which are the minute exothermic reaction products, and forming the smaller pores 28. To do. Example 7 Cr Three C 2 And Al 2 O Three An integrated membrane containing the composite membrane layer of Example 1 was prepared in the same manner as in Example 6 except that the slurry composition was as follows. Example 8 Another integrated membrane 30 has a micro-exothermic monolithic membrane layer 31 on a porous alumina support layer or substrate 32, as shown in FIG. The two integrated membranes 30 were made with the micro-heat gun of the present invention. Each integrated membrane 30 had a monolithic membrane layer made from a different micropyrogenic slurry composition. One slurry (Sample A) is titanium diboride (TiB 2 2), and the other slurry (Sample B) formed a titanium carbide (TiC) membrane layer 31. The compositions of the two types of slurry samples are as follows. For each slurry sample, the slurry was applied onto the surface of each substrate 32 using a brush to form a layer approximately 300 microns thick. The slurry layer on each substrate 32 was dried in an oven at a controlled temperature of 50 ° C. for 12 hours. After drying, the unburned membrane layer of each sample is burned at 800 ° C. in a conditioning furnace to cause a micro-exothermic reaction, and an integrated membrane 3 including the above-mentioned micro-exothermic simple structure membrane layer 31 adhered to the porous substrate 32. I got 0. Example 9 Different types of integrated membranes 40 having a micro-pyrogenic monolithic or composite membrane layer 41 on a filter 42, as shown in FIG. 3, can be manufactured. The integrated membrane 40 having the monolithic membrane layer 41 is formed by coating the surface of a conventional molten metal type filter 42 made of alumina, alumina-silicate, zirconia, and silicon carbide with the slurry composition of Example 8 above. Produced by coating with either. The molten metal filter 42 can be manufactured by conventional means or by the micro-heating principle of US patent application Ser. No. 07 / 537,902, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. Either composition can be applied with a brush to the desired layer thickness on the surface of the filter 42. The green membrane layer is dried and then burned to produce an integrated membrane 40. It is also possible to form a membrane with the aid of pressure. This pressure may be a gas pressure of about 2 atm during the microexothermic synthesis involving gas. Furthermore, in solid-solid combustion, a uniform load can be applied on the green membrane as a technique for adjusting the surface quality and the uniformity of pore size. Multi-layer, in-situ formed membranes are also contemplated, including one or more layers of organic material, polymer, glass, metal, or intermetallics with a micro-heating layer. It is also possible to apply several colloidal liquid coatings on the microheating layer in a symmetrical as well as asymmetrical manner. From the above general disclosure and the foregoing detailed description of the invention, one skilled in the art can readily make various variations of the invention. Accordingly, the scope of the invention is defined only by the following claims and their equivalents.
