Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.第1偏光を有する光を透過し、第1偏光を有していない光を反射する反射 性偏光子、および前記反射性偏光子と同一光学通路に位置している二色性偏光子 、 を有する光学偏光装置。 2.前記反射性偏光子が、第1透光軸を有し、前記二色性偏光子が、第2透光 軸を有し、さらに、前記第1透光軸が前記2透光軸と平行である、請求の範囲第 1項に記載の光学偏光装置。 3.前記二色性偏光子が前記反射性偏光子の少なくとも1面側上において非反 射性を示すように位置している、請求の範囲第1項に記載の光学偏光装置。 4.前記反射性偏光子が少なくとも2種の材料の多層積層体を含み、かつ、そ の少なくとも1つが、複屈折性である、請求の範囲第1項に記載の光学偏光装置 。 5.前記二色性偏光子が、前記多層積層体においてこれらの層の少なくとも1 層中に、合体されている、請求の範囲第4項に記載の光学偏光装置。 6.前記材料の少なくとも一つが、ポリマー性のものである、請求の範囲第6 項に記載の光学偏光装置。 7.前記複屈折性ポリマー材料が、PNE である、請求の範囲第6項に記載の光 学偏光装置。 8.前記多層積層体が、2種のポリマー材料の交互配置層を含む、請求の範囲 第5項に記載の光学偏光装置。 9.前記2種のポリマー材料が、第1偏光による光に対し、反射屈折率差を示 さず、かつ、第1偏光を有していない光に対して、反射屈折率差を示す、請求の 範囲第8項に記載の光学偏光装置。 10.前記多層積層体が、PEN およびCoPEN の交互配置層をさらに含む、請求の 範囲第9項に記載の光学偏光装置。 11.前記二色性偏光子が、前記反射性偏光子に結着されている、請求の範囲第 1項に記載の光学偏光装置。 12.第1偏光の光を、第1透過軸に沿って透過させ、かつ他の偏光の光を反射 する反射性偏光子と、および 前記第1透過軸とほぼ平行な第2偏光軸を有する二色性偏光子とを有する光学 偏光装置。 13.前記二色性偏光子が、前記反射性偏光子の少なくとも1面上に、反射性を 示さない位置にある、請求の範囲第12項に記載の光学偏光装置。 14.前記反射性偏光子が、少なくとも一つの複屈折性材料を含む多層積層体を 含む、請求の範囲第13項に記載の光学偏光装置。 15.前記二色性偏光子が、前記多層積層体中の少なくとも1層に合体されてい る、請求の範囲第14項に記載の光学偏光装置。 16.反射性−二色性偏光子を含み、この反射性−二色性偏光装置は、 第1偏光の光を透過し、かつ、第2偏光の光を反射する反射性偏光子、および 前記反射性偏光子の光学的通路中にある二色性偏光子 を含み、 前記反射性−二色性偏光装置が少なくとも1個の外側対向面から照明される表 示装置。 17.前記二色性偏光子が、前記表示装置の観察サイドからの反射を防止するよ うに配置されている、請求の範囲第16項に記載の表示装置。 18.前記反射性偏光子が、第1透光軸を有し、前記二色性偏光子 が第2透過軸を有し、かつさらに、前記第1透過軸が、前記第2透過軸に平行に 配置されている請求の範囲第16項に記載の表示装置。
