Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 外面と中央通路を画成する内面とを備える環状壁を有する細長い管であっ て、 第1の材料より形成された第1の部位と、前記第1の材料に比して高剛性の材 料で形成された第2の部位と、前記第1の部位と前記第2の部位とを接続する中 間部とを備え、前記中間部は、前記管の前記壁が前記第1の部位のより高剛性の 第1の材料から前記第2の部位のより柔らかい材料へ漸進的に変化し、急な接続 部を伴うことなく剛性が変化する連続的な壊れない管を形成する遷移部であり、 前記第1の部位及び前記第2の部位の材料は、前記遷移部において漸進的に結合 され、一方の材料が他方の材料の中へ下流に向けて延びるくさび構造を形成する 細長い管。 2. 前記遷移部の平均長さは約0.25乃至0.20インチである請求項1記 載の細長い管。 3. 前記第1及び第2の材料の剛性の中間の剛性を有する少なくとも一つの付 加的材料が、前記遷移部において前記第1及び第2の材料の間に漸進的に結合し 、前記付加的材料が前記第1の材料の中へ延びると共に前記第2の材料が前記付 加的材料の中へ延びるくさび構造を形成する請求項1記載の細長い管。 4. 前記くさび構造の一方の材料の下流側端部は、前記管の前記壁の前記内面 及び前記外面の双方から離間された請求項1記載の管。 5. 前記くさび構造の一方の材料の下流側端部は、前記遷移部の壁において他 方の材料の中へ延びる前記一方の材料よりなる長手方向に延びる複数の槍先を備 え、前記槍先は前記遷移部の前記壁にお いて周方向に離間された下流側端部を有すると共に、合流して環状のくさび構造 を形成するまで上流側に向けて漸進的に増大する請求項1記載の細長い管。 6. 前記くさび構造は一方の材料よりなる複数の要素から構成され、前記要素 は前記管の前記遷移部の前記壁において周方向に離間された請求項1記載の管。 7. 前記くさび構造を形成する前記一方の材料よりなる前記要素の端部は、前 記管の前記壁の前記内面及び前記外面の双方から離間された請求項6記載の細長 い管。 8. 請求項1記載の細長い管よりなり、柔軟性管体と剛性取付部品との間の接 続部又はその近傍における捩れを防止する環状歪み緩和挿入体。 9. 剛性の取付部品と;前記取付部品と同軸であり、かつ、前記取付部品から 末端側へ延びる柔軟性管体と;請求項1記載の細長い管よりなり、前記柔軟性管 体を覆う環状歪み緩和挿入体と、を備える管体用捩れ防止ジョイント組立体であ って、 前記細長い管の前記第1の部位の一部は前記柔軟性管体と前記取付部品との間 に配設され、前記細長い管の前記遷移部と前記第2の部位とは前記柔軟性管体に 関して前記第1の部位から末端側へ延び、前記ジョイントに漸進的な柔軟性を付 与する捩れ防止ジョイント組立体。 10. 複数の前記第1の部位を有する請求項1記載の細長い管よりなり、迅速 連結取付部品に挿入するのに適した細長い管であって、前記第1の部位の各組は その間に前記第1の部位のそれぞれに遷移 部により接続された第2の部位を備え、急な接続部を伴うことなく剛性が変化す る連続的な壊れない管体を形成する細長い管。 11. 請求項1記載の細長い管よりなるシャフトを有する医療用カテーテル。 12. 前記第2の部位の前記遷移部の近傍の周りに配設された医療用カテーテ ル風船を更に備え、前記風船は前記中央通路を介して膨張され得る請求項11記 載のカテーテル。 13. 請求項11記載のカテーテルよりなり、前記管壁は少なくとも一つの付 加的な通路を画成する多管腔カテーテル。 14. 前記第2の部位の前記遷移部の近傍の周りに配設された医療用カテーテ ル風船を更に備え、前記風船は少なくとも一つの中央通路を介して膨張され得る 請求項13記載のカテーテル。 15. 前記カテーテルの少なくとも一部において前記壁に埋め込まれた編まれ た金属メッシュの円周層を更に備える請求項11記載のカテーテル。 16. 前記カテーテルの少なくとも一部において前記壁に埋め込まれた螺旋状 に巻かれた金属コイルを更に備える請求項11記載のカテーテル。 17. 請求項11記載のカテーテルよりなり、前記遷移部はその開放状態にお いて湾曲し、前記第1の部位は低損傷の末端端部を供するのに十分柔らかい案内 カテーテル。 18. 請求項11記載のカテーテルよりなり、前記第1の部位の軸はその開放 状態において湾曲した血管造影カテーテル。 19. 前記管壁は前記遷移部において穿孔され、薬品分配開口を供する請求項 18記載の血管造影カテーテル。 20. 医療用カテーテルと共に使用される被覆案内ワイヤであって、全長にわ たり均一な剛性を有する基部側端部と、テーパ状に形成され末端へ向けてその剛 性が減少する末端側端部とを備え;前記案内ワイヤの周りに請求項1記載の細長 い管よりなるジャケットを更に備え、前記ジャケットは前記被覆案内ワイヤの長 さに沿った剛性の変化を更に供する被覆案内ワイヤ。 21. 前記ジャケットは前記被覆案内ワイヤの長さに沿ったほぼ均一な外径を 更に供する請求項20記載の被覆案内ワイヤ。 22. 全長にわたって剛性が均一なケーブルと、前記ケーブルの周囲の請求項 1記載の細長い管よりなるジャケットとを備える被覆ケーブルであって、前記ジ ャケットは前記被覆ケーブルの長さに沿った剛性の変化を供する被覆ケーブル。 23. 請求項1記載の細長い管よりなり、鐘状端部と挿入端部とを有するバン プ管体のユニットであって、前記挿入端部は前記管の高剛性の前記第2の部位よ り構成され、前記鐘状端部は前記第1の部位より構成され、前記第1の部位の前 記第1の材料は前記バンプ管体の別のユニットの挿入部を把持するのに十分柔ら かいバンプ管体のユニット。 24. 基部側端部と末端側端部とを有する細長い管であって、外 面と、中央通路を画成する内面とを有する環状壁を備え、前記管は第1の材料と 、前記第1の材料とは異なる特性を有する第2の材料とよりなり、前記管の前記 壁は漸進的に変化して、前記基部側端部と前記末端側端部との間に約0.25乃 至0.20インチの長さの遷移部を形成し、前記第1の材料と前記第2の材料と は前記遷移部において漸進的に結合して実質的に前記第1の材料からなる部位か ら実質的に前記第2の材料からなる部位に漸進的に変化して異なる特性を有する 材料からなる連続的な壊れない管を急な接続部を伴うことなく形成する細長い管 。 25. 前記第1及び第2の材料の特性の中間の特性を有する少なくとも一つの 付加的材料が、前記遷移部において前記第1及び第2の材料の間で漸進的に結合 され、前記管壁が実質的に前記第1の材料よりなる部位から実質的に前記付加的 材料からなる部位へ、更に、実質的に前記第2の材料からなる部位へ漸進的に変 化する構造を形成して異なる特性を有する材料からなる連続的な壊れない管を急 な接続部を伴うことなく形成する請求項24記載の細長い管。 26.前記第1及び第2の材料は前記壁において、前記第1の材料及び前記第2 の材料の少なくとも一方が前記管の全長にわたって延びる非くさび構造において 漸進的に結合され、前記第1の材料及び前記第2の材料の前記遷移部における相 対的な厚みが漸進的に変化することにより、前記管の特性が、前記第1の材料の 特性から前記第2の材料の特性へ漸進的に変化する請求項24記載の細長い管。 27. 前記第1及び第2の材料は共に前記管の全長にわたり延びる請求項26 記載の細長い管。 28. 前記第1及び第2の材料は前記管壁において漸進的に結合 し、一方の材料が他方の材料の中へ延びるくさび構造を形成する請求項24記載 の細長い管。 29. 前記くさび構造の前記一方の材料は、前記管の前記壁の前記内面及び前 記外面の双方から離間された請求項28記載の細長い管。 30. 前記くさび構造の前記一方の材料の下流側端部は、前記遷移部の前記壁 において他方の材料の中に延びる一方の材料よりなる長手方向に延びる複数の槍 先を備え、前記槍先は前記遷移部の壁において周方向に離間された下流側端部を 備えると共に、合流して環状のくさび構造を形成するまで上流側へ向けて漸進的 に増大する請求項28記載の細長い管。 31. 前記くさび構造は一方の材料よりなる複数の要素より構成され、前記要 素は前記管の前記壁内で周方向に離間された請求項28記載の細長い管。 32. 前記くさび構造を形成する一方の材料の前記要素の端部は、前記管の前 記壁の前記内面及び前記外面の双方から離間された請求項31記載の細長い管。 33. 外面と中央通路を画成する内面とを備える環状壁を有する細長い管を製 造する方法であって、 第1の樹脂の第1の樹脂流を設ける段階と; 前記第1の樹脂とは異なる特性を有する第2の樹脂の第2の樹脂流を設ける段 階と; 前記第1及び第2の樹脂を、複数の流路を画成する共有押出し成形ヘッドの別 々の流路に導入する段階と; 前記第1及び第2の樹脂流の夫々の前記共有押出し成形ヘッド内への流れを制 御する段階と; 前記第1の樹脂流を前記共有押出し成形ヘッドの同一の流路内で前記第2の樹 脂流に合流させ、合流流れの接触体積を生成する段階と; 各樹脂流の前記共有押出し成形ヘッド内での流れを制御する段階と; 前記付加的樹脂を、前記共有押出し成形ヘッドの前記第1及び第2の樹脂が導 入される流路とは別の流路に導入する段階と; 前記付加的樹脂流の前記共有押出し成形ヘッド内への流れを制御する段階と; 前記付加的樹脂流を、前記共有押出し成形ヘッドの同一の流路内 で、前記第1及び第2の樹脂流に合流させ、合流流れの付加的な接触体積を生成 する段階と、を更に備える請求項33記載の細長い管を製造する方法。 38. 前記細長い管は、前記第1の樹脂より形成された第1の部位と、前記第 2の樹脂より形成された第2の部位と、前記第1の部位と前記第2の部位とを接 続する中間部とを有し、前記中間部は、前記管の壁が前記第1の部位の前記第1 の樹脂から前記第2の部位の前記第2の樹脂へ漸進的に変化して急な接続部を伴 うことなく連続的な壊れない管を形成する遷移部であり; 前記接触体積は前記遷移部の長さを定めるように選択された請求項33記載の 細長い管を製造する方法。 39. 前記細長い管は複数の第1の部位と複数の第2の部位と、複数の中間部 とを有し; 前記第1及び第2の部位は前記管の長さに沿って交互に配設され; 前記第1の部位の夫々は、前記遷移部の1つによって前記第2の部位の少なく とも1つに接続され、前記管の前記壁は前記第1の部位の前記第1の樹脂から前 記第2の部位の前記第2の樹脂に漸進的に変化し; 前記細長い管を切断して複数の管セグメントを形成する段階を更に備え、各セ グメントは少なくとも1つの遷移部と、前記第1の部位の1つの少なくとも一部 と、前記第2の部位の1つの少なくとも一部とを含む請求項38記載の細長い管 を製造する方法。 40. 前記第1の樹脂流及び前記第2の樹脂流の前記共有押出し成形ヘッド内 への流れを、前記管の前記第1の部位、前記遷移部、及び前記第2の部位の内径 が実質的に等しくなるように、かつ、前 記管の前記第1の部位、前記遷移部、及び前記第2の部位の外径が実質的に等し くなるように、互いに相対的に制御する請求項38記載の細長い管を製造する方 法。 41. 前記接触体積はゼロ又はゼロ近傍である請求項38記載の細長い管を製 造する方法。 42. 前記接触体積、前記共有押出し成形ヘッドの前記ダイス内での合流した 樹脂の流れの体積、及び、存在するならば、前記接触体積と前記ダイス流れ体積 との間の合流された樹脂の流れ体積は結合されて傾斜体積を生成し; 前記傾斜体積は前記第1の部位の体積よりも大きい請求項41記載の細長い管 を製造する方法。 43. 前記傾斜体積は少なくとも前記第1の部位の体積より5倍大きい請求項 42記載の細長い管を製造する方法。
