2. Description of the Related Art In unmanned factories and the like, pattern recognition is performed by image sensing using a CCD camera to automatically identify the type of product sent on a conveyor and to control product quality. For this reason, conventionally, for a product to be photographed by a CCD camera, a large number of point light sources such as a light bulb or a line light source such as a fluorescent lamp are arranged around the CCD camera so as to be evenly distributed from all directions. Although light is emitted, for example, when a large number of point photoelectric elements are used, shadows may be formed by the number of the point light sources, which may make it difficult to perform pattern recognition. For each of the linear light sources, a socket and its wiring must be provided for each light source,
Not only is the lighting equipment large and complicated, but also the heat generated by the light source itself adversely affects electronic equipment such as a CCD camera.

Therefore, as shown in FIG. 5, it has been proposed to arrange four flat light-emitting members 41 each composed of a flat light-guiding member 40 obliquely upward around the product for illumination. The planar light emitting body 41 has a light incident surface 44 attached to a linear light emitting portion 43 formed at the tip of the light guide 42.
Is formed on one end thereof, the other end and the back surface are formed on a reflection surface 45 for reflecting light traveling inside the light guide 40 to the front side, and the surface is formed on a light irradiation surface 46. ing. According to this, it is only necessary to mount and arrange the planar light-emitting bodies 41 on each of the light emitting portions 43 of the four bundle fibers 42, the equipment itself is relatively simplified, and the light source itself is a CCD camera. Since it can be installed at a place away from the camera, there is an advantage that even if the light source generates heat, it does not adversely affect the CCD camera.

However, when illuminating using four planar light-emitting elements 41, illumination can be performed from only four directions. For example, when illuminating a spherical product, a flat product is used. There remains a problem that the four directions facing the light-emitting body 41 become bright, and depending on the product shape, a distribution of brightness and darkness may occur, making it difficult to perform pattern recognition. In order to solve this problem, the number of the planar light-emitting bodies 41 may be increased so as to form a regular polygon. In this case, the light guides 42 are required for the number of the flat light-emitting bodies 41. Therefore, when arranging a large number of point light sources and line light sources, the number of sockets is required as much as the number of the light sources and the lighting equipment becomes large.

That is, if the lighting equipment is simplified, pattern recognition cannot be performed accurately, and if shadowless lighting is used so that pattern recognition can be performed accurately, the lighting equipment becomes large-scale. . Therefore, it is a technical object of the present invention to perform shadowless illumination with extremely simplified lighting equipment without using large-scale lighting equipment.

The above is an example of the configuration of the present invention. Next, the operation thereof will be described with reference to FIG. First, the light guide 3 is connected to a light source (not shown), and the curved light guide 5 is attached to the light emitting portion 2 to cause the light source to emit light. 2 to curved light guide 4
Is incident on the ring-shaped light incident portion 5 of the light emitting device. The light incident on the light incident part 5 is reflected by the reflection surface on the inner peripheral surface 5A side formed on the tapered surface inclined outward with respect to the light emission direction, and the light of the curved surface light guide 4 whose diameter is increased. The light guided into the curved light guide 4 is
The light that travels inside the light guide 4 while being reflected by the outer peripheral surface 4A and the other end surface 4B and reaches the inner peripheral surface 4C is mostly radiated into the space surrounded by the curved light guide 4. It will be. At this time, since the inner peripheral surface 4C of the light guide 4 is roughened by blasting the surface, the inner peripheral surface 4C is diffused and radiated into the space surrounded by the light guide 4, so that the inner periphery 4C is exposed. Illumination light having a uniform luminance distribution without variation in brightness is obtained from any part of the surface 4C.

Since the curved light guide 4 is formed as a conical surface whose diameter increases from one end where the light incident portion 5 is formed to the other end, the inner peripheral surface 4C of the light guide 4 is formed. When the product placed downward is to be illuminated, the diffused light is radiated downward from the inner peripheral surface 4C of the light guide 4 and the product is omnidirectional from all directions of 360 degrees surrounding the product. Therefore, even when illuminating a spherical product, a shadow-free illumination with a uniform brightness can be obtained without generating a light-dark distribution. Thus, even when a product is photographed by the CCD camera 7, the product shape can be accurately grasped, and no malfunction occurs when performing pattern recognition by image sensing.

FIG. 3 is a sectional view showing another embodiment.
The curved light guide 4 of this example is formed as a dome-shaped curved surface whose diameter increases from one end where the light incident portion 5 is formed toward the other end. Also in this case, similarly to the case where the curved light guide is formed by the conical surface, the diffused light is irradiated downward from the inner peripheral surface 4C of the light guide 4 and from all directions of 360 degrees surrounding the product. Evenly illuminating the light, therefore, even when illuminating a spherical product, it is possible to achieve illumination with uniform brightness and without shadows without producing a light-dark distribution.

Further, as shown in FIG. 4, the illumination device 1 of this embodiment comprises a cylindrical light guide 8 having the same diameter and extending from one end to the other end where the ring-shaped incident portion 5 is formed. It may be the case that it is formed. In this case, the outer peripheral surface 8A and the other end surface 8B of the curved light guide 8 are formed by reflecting surfaces that reflect the light traveling inside the inner surface 8A, and the inner peripheral surface 8C.

In a product to be illuminated in the space surrounded by the curved light guide 8, if light enters the light guide 8 through the light guide 3, the inner peripheral surface 8 C And diffused light is irradiated from all directions of 360 degrees surrounding the product. Also, the inner peripheral surface 8 of the curved light guide 8
Since the diffused light is emitted from C, the inner peripheral surface 8C is also irradiated with the light on the upper surface of the product, and illumination light having a relatively uniform luminance distribution can be obtained.
