(57) [Summary] [Purpose] The superiority of emulsion fuel was recognized from an early stage, but a stable emulsion fuel could not be produced. Producing a stable emulsion improves fuel efficiency of diesel engines and solves exhaust gas problems. In addition, we will expand the use of emulsions. [Constitution] The point of emulsion production is the development of an effective device for uniformly dispersing and refining particles and an emulsifier. In particular, the device is the point. Adiabatic expansion and ultrasonic waves are often used for emulsification. The present invention has developed a gentle curve expansion valve that does not cause interfacial delamination and cavitation. In addition, the inventor of the present invention invented that it is possible to produce an emulsion that is finely divided and uniformly dispersed by applying ultrasonic waves to a mixed fluid that is not stationary but flows dynamically.

2. Description of the Related Art To make an emulsion, water, oil, an emulsifier, and equipment are required. The promotion of emulsification by ultrasonic waves is a commonly used method, but in order to produce a stable emulsion, it is important at what step and how to perform ultrasonic treatment. The emulsifier and oil are mixed well. A gear pump is used for pressurizing the mixed liquid. Further, water is added to the mixed liquid, mixed through a mixer, and jetted adiabatically from a nozzle in a pressurized state to form fine particles. It is generally said that emulsions can be produced by this process, but to date no practical emulsions have been produced.

The present invention invented that a long-term stable emulsion can be produced by skillfully utilizing the effects of adiabatic expansion and ultrasonic waves, which are important in emulsification. By using an expansion valve that does not generate interfacial separation and cavitation, and by applying ultrasonic waves during adiabatic expansion, the particles are dispersed into fine particles. When passing through a through-type mixer, ultrasonic waves act to uniformly disperse.

FIG. 1 shows the features of the adiabatic expansion valve 1 of the present invention. The expansion valve 1 is composed of an expansion tube 2 and a needle valve 3 having the same structure as the Venturi tube. This expansion tube 2
Has a gentle curve on both the entrance and exit sides.
The surface that comes in contact with the liquid is mirror-finished. The needle valve 3 is similarly finished. The curves of the expansion tube 2 and the needle valve 3 are different. Therefore, the gap between the needle valve 3 and the expansion pipe 2 can be finely adjusted by taking the needle valve 3 in and out.
The reason why the shape is finished to be a gentle curve is that the mixed fluid passing through the expansion tube 2 does not cause interfacial separation. What is important in emulsification is to make the particle size uniform. Heterogeneity promotes emulsion separation. The generation of bubbles due to cavitation is negative for the emulsion and also to prevent the formation of bubbles.

FIG. 2 is an overall configuration diagram of the present apparatus. Three liquids of water, oil, and an emulsifier are supplied to the expansion tube 2 from a side surface on the entry side in a mixed state. The three-liquid mixed fluid flows through the expansion pipe 2 while smoothly turning. When it passes through the minimum area point while being squeezed, it starts to expand. After passing through the expansion tube 3, it is blown adiabatically into the tank 4.
During the adiabatic expansion, the three-liquid mixed fluid is subjected to forced vibration by ultrasonic waves. The action of this ultrasonic wave is effective in reducing water and oil particles. Emulsification makes it difficult to separate the emulsion. A diaphragm 5 is attached to the tank 4 for applying ultrasonic waves. The ultrasonic oscillator 6 forcibly vibrates the diaphragm 5. Ultrasound is not only from one direction. The three-liquid mixture in the tank 4 is forcibly vibrated from four directions. By making the standing wave effective, miniaturization is promoted. The frequency of the ultrasonic wave is determined by the size of the tank 4 and the properties of the mixed liquid to be emulsified.

In the tank 4, one or more mixers 7 through which the three-liquid mixed fluid passes last are set. The mixer 7 is a passage-type mixer having a thin wall-pressure pipe shape, in which a plurality of blades with twisted plates are arranged in series. The mixer 7 has both ends, the bottom plate of the tank 4 and the current plate 1.
Although it is fixed by 1, it may be only one side. The distance between the fixed points of the mixer 7 is determined by the frequency of ultrasonic waves, the number of cuts, the resonance frequency, and the like. The same applies to one-end support. The three-liquid mixed fluid flows from the upper surface of the mixer 7 to the inside. In the course of passing through the mixer 7, the three-liquid mixed fluid is repeatedly cut by a plate-like blade to form a uniform emulsion. The mixer 7 is vibrating by ultrasonic waves. Due to this vibration, the three-liquid mixture that has passed through the mixer 7 becomes an emulsion in which the particles are fined and uniformly dispersed. The emulsion thus produced is stable for a long period of time because the finely divided particles are uniformly dispersed.

A feature of the present invention is that, in order to uniformly disperse the finely divided particles, a uniform turbulent state is created by first passing the expansion valve having a gentle curve. From this state, adiabatic expansion is performed. At this time, ultrasonic waves are applied to produce uniform fine particles. Finally, when passing through the mixer 7, it is to disperse uniformly by the action of ultrasonic waves. The purpose of the present invention is to apply ultrasonic waves not in a stationary state but in a flowing state.

The problem of the emulsion fuel is that it is impossible to produce a stable and non-separable substance for a long period of time. By utilizing the present invention, a stable emulsion that does not separate can be produced in large quantities. The range of use of the emulsion is greatly expanded.
Emulsion fuel can be used in various fields. Using diesel engine fuel can improve fuel economy by more than 25%. CO and NOX concentrations in exhaust gas can be significantly reduced.
Evaporation increases when used as boiler fuel.
