【発明の詳細な説明】

【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、冠状ステント、特
に、壁が網構造を持つ管状胴体を含むとともに、網構造
が網により構成される複数の隣接隔室を含む冠状ステン
トに関する。

【従来の技術】従来から種々の異なるタイプの冠状ステ
ントが知られている。ステントは物理的に適合する物質
からできた血管補綴物を形成する。ステント又はステン
ト補綴物は、血管又は他の身体のオリフィスを拡張する
ために、さらに前述の血管を拡張した状態に維持するた
めに使用される。この目的のために、ステントは非拡張
状態で患者の身体に配置され、次に適当な手段、例えば
バルーンカテーテルで拡張される。拡張状態では、ステ
ントの個々の網部分はステントが永続的に拡張した形を
続けるように変形される。
【0003】この様なタイプのステントは例えばドイツ
実用新案登録第29702671号に記載されている。ステント
を構成する場合、ステントは非拡張状態で患者の身体に
導入して配置できる程充分に小さい直径を持たねばなら
ないという重要な問題がある。ステントは、例えば血管
の形をたどる事ができるように、ある程度縦軸方向に沿
って柔軟でなければならない。拡張状態では、ステント
は外径がかなり大きくなるように拡張されねばならな
い。この様な拡張は、裂け目又はそれと同様のものが形
成されないように個々の網部分を変形する事により達成
される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明の目的は、単純
な構造で、容易に製造できるとともに安全に使用でき、
しかも十分に柔軟で、かつ半径方向の強い力をかけたり
受けたりすることのできるステントを提供することにあ
る。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、患者の身体に
挿入されたとき血管の屈曲を容易にたどる事ができる極
めて柔軟なステントを提供する。本発明によるステント
の先端部は極めて柔軟であるため、ステントが所定の位
置に配置されるときに非常に良好かつ容易に血管の屈曲
をたどる事ができる。というのは、ステントが配置(位
置決め)されるときに、バルーンカテーテルのガイドワ
イヤに、レール上を進むようにステントが従っていくか
らである。
【0006】本発明のステントは、その先端部が極めて
柔軟であることが特徴である。配置(位置決め)操作の
間、ステントの先端部はその柔軟性のために容易に血管
をたどる事ができるので、ステントは血管の中をその先
端部により引っ張られていくようにして進む。種々の方
法で柔軟な先端部を作る事ができる。好ましい実施形態
では、ステントの先端部に螺旋が取り付けられる。
【0007】さらに特に好ましい実施形態では、ほぼ時
計ばね形状(渦巻き状)のコネクターがステントの先端
部に形成される。コネクターは、好ましくはジグザグ形
状に延びる網パターンの2番め毎又は3番め毎の端のみ
に連結する。しかし、好ましくは先端部がステントに容
易に連結する事ができるためには少なくとも3つのコネ
クターが必要である。屈曲しながら延びる少なくともひ
とつの網パターンが、最終方法で先端部を形成するため
にコネクターに取り付けられる。その次の網パターン
(曲がりくねりパターン)はその固有の剛性を避けるた
めに好ましくは短い足を持つべきである。その様なデザ
インは好ましくはジグザグ線の数を増やす事により達成
できる。
【0008】さらに特に好ましい実施形態では、複数の
コネクターと好ましくは短足の曲がりくねった網パター
ンを交互にステントの端に取り付ける事ができる。時計
ばね(渦巻きばね)又は螺旋の形をしたコネクターの形
状は特に好ましい実施形態を表すが、先端部の柔軟なデ
ザインを可能とする別のコネクターも原則的には可能で
ある。
【0009】本発明のステントは幾つかの重要な利点に
より特徴づけられる。非拡張状態では、本発明の組立体
は充分な強度のみならず十分な柔軟性を生む。ステント
の壁の隔室の網又は網部分は、ステントが容易に信頼で
きる方法で拡張する事ができる事を保証する。第1隔室
の折りたたまれた網のジグザグ形状のデザインは、これ
らの網が好ましくは円周方向に延びる帯状の部分を形成
しているので非常に有利である事が解った。この様な帯
状の部分はステントの強度を増やし、拡張状態での寸法
の安定性を保証する。

【発明の実施の形態】図1は、壁を有する柔軟性管状胴
体2を含む本発明のステント1の基本構造を示してお
り、壁の前面側3が図に表れている。図2は本発明のス
テントの第1実施形態を示し、ここでは胴体2の構造を
説明するためにその壁が図1の平面構造で示されてい
る。

ば交互に網パターン5と6を含む網構造を持ち、複数の
網パターン6のそれぞれは網パターン5と相互に連結し
ている。網パターン5と6は網を有し、網はジグザグ状
又は曲がりくねって円周方向に延びるとともに網構造の
隔室を構成している。また、網のジグザグ状又は曲がり
くねって延びる部分は帯状である。
【0012】柔軟性先端部4は本発明のステント1の前
端部に配置される。図2には、この部分が破線で囲まれ
ている。図2に示される実施形態では、先端部4は好ま
しくは少なくとも3個の複数のコネクターを持ち、その
うち1個のコネクター7には対応する参照番号が与えら
れ典型的例として示される。図2に示されるように、コ
ネクターはS形状か又は時計のばねに似た形で渦巻き状
に屈曲している。その自由端の一端8でコネクター7は
前側に設けられている網パターン5と連結している。他
の自由端9ではコネクター7が隣のさらに好ましくは短
足の網パターン10に配置される。網パターン10には
網パターン5,6よりもそれぞれ短い足が設けられる。
網パターン10は屈曲或いはジグザグ形状で延び、曲が
りくねりパターンとも呼ぶことができる。
【0013】また、コネクター7は、ジグザグ形状に延
びる網パターン5の2番め毎(1つおき)の端に連結さ
れている。この連結の仕方は、3番め毎でもよい。上述
の実施形態の先端部4は極めて柔軟性があり、ステント
が血管内壁に引っかかったりして血管壁を傷つける事を
柔軟な先端部が防ぐので、非常に信頼できる方法で患者
の身体にステントを挿入する事ができる。

が示されている。図2に示されるものに対応するすべて
の特徴に同じ参照番号が与えられる。図2による実施形
態との本質的な差は柔軟性先端部4' の構成に見られ
る。即ちこの例では、複数のコネクター7とそれに連結
した網パターン10に加えて、さらにコネクター7' の
列とそれに連結されたさらなる網パターン10' とを含
む。図3に示されるように、コネクター7' はコネクタ
ー7を180°だけ回転させて配置されており、網パタ
ーン10' は網パターン10を位相シフトした形で、す
なわち鏡像関係となるように対称に配置されている。し
かし、その他は図2を参照する事ができる。先端部4'
は非常に柔軟性があり、患者の身体へのステントの信頼
できる挿入が可能となる。その理由は、上述のステント
は、壁2の網構造がたとえ比較的硬い場合でも極めて容
易に血管の屈曲をたどる事ができるからである。
【0015】図4に第3実施形態を模式的に示してい
る。この実施形態のステント1には、その前端3の一つ
に螺旋形状の柔軟先端部4" が設けられている。螺旋状
先端部4" は胴体2の網構造に2つの端11と12で連
結される。この連結は好ましくは、図2及び3に示され
る実施形態にも使用する事ができる一体式タイプであ
る。

【発明の効果】以上のように本発明のステントでは、胴
体の前端に柔軟性先端部を設けたので、容易に血管の屈
曲をたどることができる。

  1. 【請求項1】壁が網構造を持つ管状胴体(2)を含むと
    ともに、前記網構造が網により構成される複数の隣接隔
    室を含む冠状ステント(1)であって、 前記胴体(2)がその前端部(3)の少なくとも1つに
    おいて柔軟性先端部(4)を有することを特徴とする冠
    状ステント。
  2. 【請求項2】前記先端部(4)が複数のコネクター
    (7)を含み、前記コネクター(7)はそれらの端部の
    一端(8)が前部側に設けられている前記胴体(2)の
    網構造(5)に接続されており、前記コネクター(7)

    続され、さらにその自由端で第2の短足網構造(10'
    )に接続されていることを特徴とする請求項2から5
    のいずれかに記載の冠状ステント。

    が前記短足の網構造(10及び10' 、それぞれ)を取
    り付けるために設けられていることを特徴とする請求項
