Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.有害廃棄物および加熱時にガラス質物質を形成するのに必要な他のあらゆる 成分を受け入れるための金属製融解槽と、 該金属製融解槽内の物質を加熱するためのヒータと、 金属製閉込め槽とを有し、該金属製閉込め槽内には融解槽が配置されており 、閉込め槽は、融解槽の破損時に、破損した融解槽から出るあらゆる物質を受け 入れ且つ収容し、 融解槽の破損を検出するためのセンサを更に有することを特徴とする有害廃 棄物をガラス化する装置。 2.前記ヒータは、(a)融解槽内の溶融物質に電流を通して溶融物質を加熱す るヒータと、(b)融解槽と該融解槽内の溶融物質内の電極との間に電圧を印加 し、溶融物質に電流を通して溶融物質を加熱するヒータと、(c)融解槽内の溶 融物質内の1対の電極の間に電圧を印加し、溶融物質に電流を通して溶融物質を 加熱するヒータと、(d)融解槽および該融解槽内の物質を加熱する誘導コイル を備えたヒータと、(e)融解槽内の物質を加熱する電気抵抗要素を備えたヒー タとからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項に記載の装置 。 3.加熱すべき物質を混合するための攪拌子を更に有することを特徴とする請求 の範囲第1項に記載の有害廃棄物をガラス化する装置。 4.前記閉込め槽は、融解槽の回りで密閉シールされて、密閉チャンバを形成す ることを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項に記載の有害廃棄物をガラス化する装置。 5.前記センサは融解槽と閉込め槽との間の密閉シールチャンバに連通しており 、融解槽が破損したときの密閉シールチャンバ内の圧力変化を検出して、このよ うな破損を検出することを特徴とする請求の範囲第4項に記載の有害廃棄物をガ ラス化する装置。 6.前記融解槽の破損を検出するセンサは、破損した融解槽から閉込め槽により 受け入れられた物質の存在を検出することを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項に記載 の有害廃棄物をガラス化する装置。 7.前記センサは、破損した融解槽から閉込め槽に受け入れられた物質の存在を 検出する電気回路を有することを特徴とする請求の範囲第6項に記載の有害廃棄 物をガラス化する装置。 8.前記センサの電気回路は、融解槽と閉込め槽との間に配置された1対の電気 プローブを有し、該電気プローブは、破損した融解槽から閉込め槽に受け入れら れた物質が両プローブを電気的に相互接続するまで、常時、電気的に互いに遮断 されていることを特徴とする請求の範囲第7項に記載の有害廃棄物をガラス化す る装置。 9.前記センサの電気回路は融解槽と閉込め槽との間に位置する電流路を有し、 該電流路は、常時閉じられているけれども、破損した融解槽から閉込め槽に受け 入れられた物質の存在により開かれることを特徴とする請求の範囲第7項に記載 の有害廃棄物をガラス化する装置。 10.前記融解槽の破損を検出するための別のセンサを更に有していることを特徴 とする請求の範囲第1項に記載の装置。 11.融解槽の破損を検出する各センサは、融解槽と閉込め槽との間の密閉シール チャンバに連通していて、融解槽が破損したときに圧力変化を検出するセンサと 、破損した融解槽から閉込め槽内に受け入れられた物質の存在を検出する電気回 路を備えたセンサとからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする請求の範囲第1 0項に記載の有害廃棄物をガラス化する装置。 12.有害廃棄物および加熱時にガラス質物質を形成するのに必要な他のあらゆる 成分を、金属製融解槽内に導入し、 該金属製融解槽内の物質を加熱し、 融解槽の破損時に該融解槽から出るあらゆる溶融物質を収容すべく、金属製 閉込め槽内に融解槽を配置し、 融解槽の破損を検出することからなることを特徴とする有害廃棄物をガラス 化する方法。 13.前記加熱は、(a)融解槽内の溶融物質に電流を通し、(b)誘導加熱を用 い、および(c)電気抵抗加熱を用いることからなる群から選択された工程によ り行なわれることを特徴とする請求の範囲第12項に記載の有害廃棄物をガ ラス化する方法。 14.前記物質が、加熱中に攪拌されることを特徴とする請求の範囲第12項に記 載の有害廃棄物をガラス化する方法。 15.前記融解槽の破損の検出が、融解槽と閉込め槽との間の密閉シールチャンバ の圧力変化を検出することにより行なわれることを特徴とする請求の範囲第12 項に記載の有害廃棄物をガラス化する方法。 16.前記融解槽の破損の検出が、融解槽から閉込め槽内に受け入れられる物質の 存在を検出することにより行なわれることを特徴とする請求の範囲第12項に記 載の有害廃棄物をガラス化する方法。 17.融解槽から閉込め槽内に受け入れられる物質の存在は、電気回路により検出 されることを特徴とする請求の範囲第16項に記載の有害廃棄物をガラス化する 方法。 18.1対のセンサを使用して前記融解槽の破損を検出することを特徴とする請求 の範囲第12項に記載の有害廃棄物をガラス化する方法。
