Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 固体光導波路を有するレーザキャビティを備え、 前記光導波路には、前記レーザキャビティ内における利得媒質である希土類ド ーパントがドープされ、 前記レーザキャビティが対となった反射要素により画成されており、 前記レーザキャビティの長さと、前記利得媒質の利得と、前記反射要素の反射 と、により所定の発振波長においてレーザ発振させるようにされ、さらに、 前記レーザ波長の入射光線を反射させる反射要素と、 前記レーザ発振波長を変化させるため、上記レーザキャビティを圧縮するため の圧縮手段と、 を有することを特徴とする波長可変レーザ。 2. 前記反射要素は、それぞれが中心反射波長を有する少なくとも一つのブラ ッググレーティングと、 前記圧縮手段は、また、前記グレーティングを圧縮して前記グレーティングの 前記反射波長を、前記圧縮レーザキャビティの前記レーザ波長に対応するように 変化させるようになっていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の波長可変レーザ 。 3. 前記レーザ発振波長は、前記利得媒質の利得波長の広い部分にわたって変 化し得ることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の波長可変 レーザ。 4. 前記希土類ドーパントは、エルビウムであることを特徴とする請求項1に 記載の波長可変レーザ。 5. 前記光導波路は、オプティカルファイバであることを特徴とする請求項1 に記載の波長可変レーザ。 6. 前記光導波路は、石英を有すること特徴とする請求項1に記載の波長可変 レーザ。 7. 希土類ドーパントがドープされ、レーザキャビティを構成する固体光導波 路を圧縮する圧縮ステップと、 前記キャビティ長を変化させて、前記レーザのレーザ発振波長を変化させるス テップと、を有することを特徴とする導波路型レーザのレーザ発振波長可変方法 。 8. 前記ステップは、さらに、前記レーザキャビティを画成する対となった反 射要素の一つを圧縮するステップを有していることを特徴とする請求項7に記載 の方法。 9. 前記反射要素は、ブラッググレーティングを有することを特徴とする請求 項7に記載の方法。 10. 前記光導波路は、石英を有していることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の 方法。
