濡れティッシュパッケージ構造及びティッシュ
発明の背景
この発明は、濡れティッシュ又はタオレット(towelettes)のためのパッケージ
に関する。より詳細には、分離用ミシン目によって分離され、ジグザグパターン
に折り畳まれたティッシュ・セクションが繋がった、連続する長尺シートからス
タック状に構成した濡れティッシュのための取り出し容器に関する。
水分を含ませたティッシュ、布、あるいはタオレットの容器からのディスペン
シングは、種々の先行技術特許において主要課題となっている。例えば、Margul
ies は、米国特許第4、462、507 号において、あらかじめ水分を含ませたロール状
タオルを収容するように設計された円筒形の容器を開示している。タオルは、そ
の解放端を、円筒形ロールの中央部から、円筒形容器、すなわち、キャニスター
の上部にある開口に通すことによって、その容器から取り出されるようである。
Bonkは、米国特許第4、535、912 号において、水分を含ませたロール状タオルの外
側端が、四角形状のディスペンサーから取り出されるディスペンサーを開示して
いる。ロール上のタオルは、ディスペンサーの上部にあるスロットを通して、ロ
ールが解かれるに従って、ロールの外側から取り出される。
Holtsch は、米国特許第4、899、905 号において、あらかじめ水分を含ませたタオ
ルの折り畳みスタックが、容器の上蓋にある開口を通して取り出される、四角形
状の容器を開示している。あらかじめ水分を含ませた四角形状のタオルは、その
コーナーにおいて互いに繋がっている。
Duhy とJones は、特許第3、836、045 号において、液体をしみ込ませ、一つ一
つ分離していて折り畳まれている使い捨てタオルを、その容器に設けられた中央
取り出しスロットから取り出すのに用いる四角形状容器を開示している。Dailey
は、特許第4、863、064 号において、折り畳み込んで一時に一つ取り出し可能な、
あらかじめ水分を含ませたタオレットを、そのフレキシブル・パッケージの上部
に配置した開口を通して取り出すフレキシブル・ディスペンサー・パケットを開
示している。同様な取り出しパケットが、Juliusによって、特許第4、156、493 号
及び特許第4、185、754 号に開示されている。Harrisonは、特許第3、819、043 号に
おいて、あらかじめ水分を含ませたタオレットのための、中にタオレットが折り
畳み込まれたさらに別のパッケージを開示している。同様にSpruytらは、特許第
3、784、056 号において、フレキシブル容器と、その容器から濡れタオレットを取
り出すために上部面に設けられた取り出しスリットとを有している、湿気が浸透
しないパッケージを開示している。
上で確認した先行技術特許は、連続ロールから、あるいはもう一方の選択とし
て、分離したものであって、折
り畳み込まれて、さらにあらかじめ水分を含ませた四角形状のタオレットから、
あらかじめ水分を含ませたタオレットを取り出す、あるいは取り出すための有用
なパッケージを開示している。それにも関わらず、濡れタオレットのための、特
に、コストのかかるカッティングや折り畳み機械装置を必要としない、連続した
長尺シートから得るタオレットのための、改良した取り出しシステムの必要性が
残されている。
発明の要約
簡単に言えば、本発明は濡れティッシュシートとそのシートを納めるディスペ
ンサとの組合せで構成されている。そのシートは外側の自由端部を有するティッ
シュシートが伸ばされたものであり、ミシン目でほぼ同じサイズに分けられた区
分の連続で構成されている。シートはジグザグに折り重ねられており、連結され
折り重ねられたタオルのスタックを作るパターンが入れられている。ティッシュ
取り出し容器は、分けることのできるふたあるいは上面を含んでいる。
このふたあるいは上面は、折り重ねられたティッシュシートあるいはスタック
から湿度が逃げるのを防止するように十分に密閉されている。容器と上面は長方
形であり、最も大きいスタックが保てるように、折り重ねられたティッシュのス
タックとほぼ一致する形と大きさを有している。さらに上面は、タオルのスタッ
クの自由端部を取り出すためのスリットを有している。スリットは、
穴の開いたへこみとして上面の両サイドのほぼ真ん中に位置している。スリット
は上面のサイドからサイドの方向の幅に交差して部分的に広がっている。スリッ
トはお互いから一定の間隔で隔てられているスリットサイドで限定され、その間
隔はティッシュの厚みよりも大きく、それによってティッシュはスリットを通し
て引き出される。ティッシュはスリットサイドによって摩擦で抑えられており、
シートがスリットのそれぞれの方向に自由にスライドするのを防ぎながら、一定
間隔で分けているミシン目の線に沿ってシートが裂けるようにしている。また、
本発明は上面の穴の開いたへこみに封をする完全なカップ、ある好ましいスリッ
トのサイズや形、そしてスリットと関係づけられるメンバーや口を噛み合わせる
特別な完全摩擦などのようなさまざまな付加的な特徴が含まれている。
従って、本発明の目的は改善された濡れティッシュディスペンサを提供するこ
とである。
さらに、目的は濡れティッシュの伸ばされて積み重ねられたシートを取り出す
濡れティッシュディスペンサを提供することで、そのシートは積み重ねられた区
分に分けられており、それぞれの区分はさらにミシン目の線によって別々に分け
られている。
本発明の別の目的は、ディスペンサの上面あるいはふたのための特有の構造を
持つ濡れティッシュディスペンサを提供することであり、さらに詳しくは、濡れ
ティッ
シュが取り出される放出スリットのための特有の構造を提供することである。
本発明の目的は、湿度が逃げるのを防止するために十分に密閉され、折り重ね
られたティッシュの湿度を維持するようにデザインされた濡れティッシュディス
ペンサを提供することである。
本発明の別の目的は、取り出すために容器の中で折り重ねられたティッシュの
スタックの取り出しのために取り外し可能な上面を持つように適合された濡れテ
ィッシュディスペンサを提供することである。
本発明の別の目的は、特有なティッシュ取り出しスリット構造を有する濡れテ
ィッシュディスペンサを提供することであり、それによってティッシュはスリッ
トによって適当な摩擦で十分に抑えられ、シートがスリットのそれぞれの方向に
自由にスライドするのを防ぎながら、一定間隔で分けているミシン目の線に沿っ
てシートが裂けるようにしている。
本発明の別の目的は、再利用でき、詰め替えできる濡れティッシュディスペン
サを提供することである。
さらに、本発明の目的は、つながったティッシュを伸ばされたシートから取り
出しスリットを通して、一度に一枚のティッシュを取り出すことのできる濡れテ
ィッシュディスペンサを提供することであり、そのような取り出しは片手の場合
に有効である。
本発明の別の目的は、折り重ねられ伸ばされたシート
から一枚のティッシュを取り出すために使用され、個々に折り重ねられたティッ
シュは必要ではないので、従って、高価な別々に分かれた一枚のティッシュを折
り重ねる装置を使用する必要のない濡れティッシュディスペンサを提供すること
である。
本発明の別の目的は、テイッシュディスペンサに収容されているティッシュシ
ートのために安価なジグザグに折り重ねる装置の使用が許されるティッシュ取り
出し容器を提供することである。
本発明の別の目的は、ディスペンサの上面あるいはふたにあるスリットを通し
て、ティッシュのシートの自由な端部から片手での取り出しを容易にすると共に
、スリットの中にあるシートの自由な端部でミシン目の線に沿ってシートからテ
ィッシュを切り離すことも容易にするティッシュ取り出し容器を提供することで
ある。
本発明の別の目的は、ティッシュはディスペンサから取り出されるあいだは、
ねじられるのではなく、折り重ねられたジグザグのスタックから取り出される。
これら本発明の目的、利点、特徴は後に続く詳細な説明で詳しく述べられてい
る。

好適実施例の説明 長く延びる折りたたまれたティッシュ
図面は本発明の種々の異なる別の実施態様を示している。最初に図1〜4を参
照すると、第一の好ましい実施態様が説明されている。図5〜9は第二の実施態
様である。図10〜12は第三の実施態様である。図13〜16は第4の実施態
様である。4つの実施態様の各々が、従来の構成もしくは配置(configuration
)を有する濡れティッシュを受け入れ、取り出すことができる:ティッシュは切
り取られるティッシュ部分22が連結している折りたたまれたスタック50から
なる。図17および
18はティッシュの配置を示している。図19はティッシュ取り出し容器の他の
スリットの構成を示し、図20は長く延ばされたティッシュまたはシートを示し
ている。
図に示すように、濡れティッシュシート20は、長く延ばされる方向もしくは
図17で矢印で示される長手方向を有する連続的な、長く延ばされたシート20
として定義される。シート20は個々の連続したタオルまたは切り取られる部分
22に折りたたまれ、これはシート20の一方から他方の側に延びているライン
でシート20を貫通するミシン目26のラインによって別々に分けられている。
シート20はジグザグに折りたたまれ、ひとつの単一の形である重ねられた形状
は、一般に、長方形の形をした束であるか、または、間隔をあけて配置されてい
る切り取り用ミシン目26によって別々に分けられている各々の切り取られる部
分22を有するティッシュ22のスタックである。
実際、シート20は多くの長いフィートであり、ジグザグに折りたたまれたタ
オルもしくは切り取られる部分22は4インチから12インチ毎の範囲で繰り返
されるミシン目によって特徴付けられている。シート20の幅は、好ましくは3
から12インチの範囲である。シート20の切り取り用ミシン目26は、一部に
はミシン目の形と範囲はシート20の材質にもよるが、シート20の大部分をカ
ットしてある。このように、切り取られる部分22は一連のミシン目またはスリ
ット26によってお
互いに分けられ、個々の切り取られる部分22を結合している結合部28によっ
てつながっている。例えば、7インチ幅のシート20では、7個の等しく間隔を
あけて配置した、幅が1/32インチの結合部または部材28である。結合部2
8は、(図17に示すように)等しく間隔をあけて配置してもよいし、(図18
に示すように)シート20に中央部や両端に集中してもよい。等間隔の配置やサ
イドエッジを有する中央部の結合が好ましい。図20は別の形態を示し、これは
切り取られる部分22が、シート20の中央部と各々の端部に隣接して位置する
3つの狭い結合部28によって定められる長いスリット26により分けられてい
る。
シートの典型的な寸法、典型的なミシン目26および結合部分28の形状につ
いて説明する。このような数値範囲および配置は、本発明の目的を達成するため
にかなり変更することができる。本発明は、基本的に単一の、ジグザグに折りた
たまれた長く延ばされるシートで、ミシン目26のような切り取り部により定め
られる連結した個々の切り取られる部分22結合部を有する積み重ねられた形状
という概念に向けられている。折り畳まれたジグザグ配置は、ミシン目26がテ
ィッシュのスタックの前と後ろとの間の中間に位置するようにすることもできる
(図17)。また、切り取りライン24もしくはミシン目26が、例えば、図3
に示される折り畳み部30のような折り畳み部に位置するようにすることもでき
る。
分離するライン24の位置や形状をかえることが可能である。連続した、外部
の自由端部32を有するティッシュの長く延ばされるシート、一般にジグザグに
折りたたまれたシートで平行に配置された側部、スタック50を定める折り重ね
形状を有することが適当であり、かつ好ましい。なぜならば、折り重ね装置と折
り重ねの工程とは、個々のティッシュを内部に積み重ねるのに必要な装置よりも
、一般的に、ずっと安価だからである。ティッシュ取り出し容器
本発明のティッシュ取り出し容器の具体例は、タオルもしくはティッシュを入
れるボックス36と、これと共同して働く上面部または蓋38とを含んでいる。
ボックス36と蓋38は典型的にはプラスティック材で成形される。ボックス3
6は一般に、長方形の平行六面体である。ボックスは前面部40と後面部42と
、対向する側面部44と46と、底面47とを有している。外周部の上面リム4
8は折りたたまれたティッシュのスタック50を受け入れるために開かれるもの
である。典型的には、折りたたまれたティッシュのスタック50は図9および1
7にあるように裏打ちされた(liner )パッケージ52として提供されてもよく
、それはボックス36の中にスライドするか滑り込むように設計されている。裏
打ちされたパッケージ52(図17の)は、パッケージ52とスタック50とを
ボックス36に挿入する直前に取り除くため、パッケージ52の上部にわたって
シールされ
た除去可能なフレキシブルな平面状のシールシート53を含んでいてもよい。ま
たは、裏打ちされたパッケージ52は省略されていてもよいし、スタック50は
ボックス36内に維持されていてもよい。スタック50はフレキシブルなフィル
ムで包んだパッケージ(図示せず)を含んでいてもよい。このパッケージは再シ
ールできる開口部を有し、包まれたパッケージ全体をボックス36内に入れるこ
とができる。どんな場合にも、ボックス36の側面部44と46とはスタック5
0を受け入れるのに充分なスペースが採られている。同様に、前面部40と後面
部42とは適切にスペースをあけて配置され、ボックス36が、蓋38の方に延
びた自由端部32を有する長方形で、平行六面体のスタック50を受け入れるの
に充分な深さを有している。
蓋もしくは上面部38は、一般にリム48と調和しており、リムの上に横たわ
っている。好適な実施例では、図6のリム48の一側面と蓋38の一側面とに沿
ったリビングヒンジ54が蓋38をボックス36と結合している。これは所望の
時に、蓋38を回転し、リム48との契合をはづし、新しいスタック50をボッ
クスに再充填することを可能とする。リム48と蓋38は、それらがお互いに組
み合わされるとき、湿気を与えられたスタック50から水分が逃げないようにす
るのに充分なシールを与えるように構成される。
図1〜3の実施例では、蓋38は弓状のスリット63
を含み、それは一般に、側面部44、46との間に延びており、ボックス36の
前面部と後面部40、42との間の中間部に位置し、また一般にボックス36の
中のスタック50の中間点の上方に位置している。スリット63は一定の半径を
有し、ボックス36中のスタック50の幅の約10〜75%の長さで、側面部4
4、46の間に延びている(好ましくは、幅の約50%以下である)。このスリ
ット63の幅は均一であり、図4に示されるようにスリットの側部65により定
められ、ティッシュ20の自由端部32の厚さより大きい長さで設けられている
。スリットの側部65の間隔は以下のファクターのバランスによって決定される
。
a) 取り出し容器内の水分の維持。このファクターはスリット寸法の制限を
要求する。
b) 手動(ヒトの手)で引き出すことに対してスリット63を通して濡れテ
ィッシュの自由な動き。このファクターはスリットの大きさを増大することを要
求する。
c) 切り取られるティッシュ部分22がヒトの手で自由端部32を鋭く引っ
ぱり出すことによって、切り取られるティッシュ部分22の間のミシン目26に
よって定められるラインに沿ってティッシュを切り取ることにより分離できるよ
うにするティッシュの摩擦的な制限。摩擦的な制限は自由端部32が、ティッシ
ュ部分22がシート20から除かれた後に、取り出し容器内に落ち込むことを防
止し、ティッシュの小さな端部を切り取った
後、手でつかむことができるように曝された状態に残しておくようにする。この
ファクターは少なくとも一部はティッシュを形成する材質、ミシン目の形状や大
きさ、水分量、湿気を与えている材料およびスリット63に隣接する蓋の厚さに
依存する。
付言することして、自由端32は、スリット63または他の実施例のいかなる
スリットから突出し、ティシュ・セクション22のコーナではない。むしろ、テ
ィシュ・セクション22(一つのスリット(例えばスリット63を介して端32
に当初挿入する時を通して)のエッジの中央である。一つの端は、前記スリット
に当初方向付けされ得る。しかしながら、セクション22のサイドエッジがスリ
ット63からまたは部分的に介して突出し、または、各セクション22がシート
20から引き裂かれる。
図5〜図16の実施例のリッド38は、端44と端46の間のミッドウエイ及
びフロント40とバック42の間のミッドウエイに位置する中央カウンタボア6
0を含む。カウンタボア60は、円筒形状で、カウンタボア表面62とマッチン
グする。本件の当業者達は、前記カウンタボア60として代替えの形状を認識す
るであろう。重要なこととして、前記カウンタボア60は、前記スリット64を
カバーする。
前記表面62の中央においては、スリットサイド66、68により前記スリッ

2を含んでなり、該突出タブ82は、前記キャップ70をその揺動軸の廻りに動
かすために手動で係合される。
図14に示すように、スリット64は、全体に一定の曲率半径を有するアーチ
形状をなしている。その他の図いにおいて、スリット64の代替しうる実施例が
描写されている。例えば、図11において、前記スリット94は、ティシュシー
ト20がそこを介して引っ張られる時、超えたティシュ材は、延長され拡張され
た部分96及び98にフィットするように、拡張スペースを有する対向
するエンドセクション96及び98を含んでいる。前記スリットの形状は、手動
のテンションによることを除き、前記スリットにおいて、前記湿気を帯びたティ
シュシート20の自由端32が移動するのを摩擦的に抑制するというゴールに達
成するための多くの態様においていろいろ変化させることができる。このように
して、前記スリット64は、正弦曲線的にすることができる。それは、いろいろ
変化する曲率を有し得る。前記スリット64におけるリッド38を形成する材料
の厚さもまた、いろいろ変化させ得る。
図5〜図7に示すように、前記スリット99は、該スリット99の片側または
両側における上方向きのタブまたは突出100を有することにより、増大させる
ことができる。
描写された実施例において、その対向された、または対向する側において位置
決めされる上方向きの突出100を伴う真っ直ぐなスリットである。前記上方向
きの突出100は、各々、ティシュシート20の自由端32のグリップを容易に
する中央戻り止めつめ102を含んでいる。前記上方向きの突出100は、図9
に示すように、前記キャップ70が前記突出100にオーバーしてフィットする
ことができるように、カウンタボア60の中において、上方向き延長するように
サイズを設定される。前記突出100は、望ましくは、前記スリット99を介し
て、前記自由端32を供給することを容易にするため
に、表面62から外方向にむしろ延長される。前記前記突出100は、このよう
にして、部分的に、前記スリット99にオーバーしてフィットすることができる
。
図19は、図6および図7の構成に対する別のものを説明する。図19におい
て、スリット114の対向する側面にあるタブまたは突出部110、112はギ
ザギザの刻み目が設けられている。この刻み目(crenelation )116はタブま
たは突出部110、112の一方または両方にスリット114に対して平行に定
められる。刻み目116はスリット114に沿って部分的にまたは全体的に延び
ていてもよい。中央のディテント(detent)118はシート20を取り出すため
に設けられ、刻み目の形状を遮るものであってもよい。刻み目116の数、形状
、厚さおよび大きさはシート20の摩擦的な契合を調節するため広く変更するこ
とができる。
このように、本発明の目的は、一番上のタオル22の自由端部を容易にしっか
りとつかむことができるようにするもので、前記タオル22を引き出す能力を提
供し、タオルを次のタオル22と分ける一方、次のタオル22の小さな部分を曝
すように維持しておくことである。これは、結合部28(即ち、ミシン目の形状
)でつながれているティッシュシートの強度と、スリット64の形状、大きさお
よび構成に起因する摩擦力との間のバランスにより達成することができる。
構成に対して他の異なる変更ができる。例えば、カウ
ンターボア(counterbore )を除くことやキャプ70を蓋38の表面の上部の閉
