Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 可視光に対して透過性である反応チャンバー内の水系培地中に光合成微 生物バイオマスを分散し、前記水系培地が前記チャンバーの総容量より少ない用 量を占める微生物バイオマスの懸濁液を含有するようにし; 前記バイオマスを構成する微生物が増殖し、数が増加する時間中、前記反応チ ャンバー内に前記バイオマスを維持し; 前記増殖を保持するために前記時間中、前記バイオマスに栄養を供給し、これ より発生した気体を除去し; 前記時間の間中、前記反応チャンバーに前記水系培地を充分流動させ; 前記時間中の少なくとも一部の時間に、可視光源に前記反応チャンバーを曝露 し、前記可視光を前記反応チャンバー内に通し、前記微生物に利用させて光合成 を可能とし; 前記時間中、前記反応チャンバー内の前記水系培地全体に概ね行き渡るように 乱流渦を有する乱流状態を維持し; 前記時間中、前記チャンバーのスケールと前記渦のスケールとの間の比率を所 定の範囲に維持し; これにより、前記時間が前記微生物の数の望ましい増加が得られるのに十分な ものとなるまで、前記乱流状態において前記微生物の前記増殖のための効果的な 反応条 件を維持すること、 を備える水系微生物生育工程の制御方法。 2. 前記乱流状態が2000〜106のレイノルズ数の値により定義される 請求項1に記載の方法。 3. 前記乱流状態が4000〜106のレイノルズ数の値により定義される 請求項2に記載の方法。 4. 前記乱流状態が4000〜250,000のレイノルズ数の値により定 義される請求項3に記載の方法。 5. 前記乱流状態が5000〜50,000のレイノルズ数の値により定義 される請求項4に記載の方法。 6. 前記比率が、渦スケールに対する流動流体反応チャンバー内の流体の水 準で0.1−1チャンバー容量単位の範囲のものである請求項1に記載の方法。 7. 前記範囲が0.1−0.8チャンバー容量単位である請求項6に記載の 方法。 8. 微生物バイオマスが単細胞植物プランクトン、維管束植物の組織、大型 藻類組織等から選択される群の微生物の少なくとも1つの種である請求項1に記 載の方法。 9. 前記微生物または前記植物の組織が、Dinophyceae、Bacillariophycear 、Lyngbya lagerhemii(Cyanophycear)、Spirulina platensis(Cyanophycear)、H aematococcus pluvialis(Chlorophycear)、Chlorella sorokiniensis(Chlorophy cear)および植物細胞組織培養物よりなる群から選択される請求項8に記載の方 法。 10. 前記微生物がHaematococcus pluvialis、Spirulina platensis、Lyng bya lagerheimiiおよびChlorella sorokiniensisよりなる群から選択される請求 項9に記載の方法。 11. 前記反応容器内の前記反応条件が、光曝露、栄養供給、沈降速度、全 体温度、ガス交換速度および細胞の完全性であることを含む請求項1に記載の方 法。 12. 前記乱流状態が、前記バイオマス中で個々の微生物の前記可視光への 曝露が間欠的となるように前記微生物を動かす請求項1に記載の方法。 13. 前記微生物への可視光の前記間欠的曝露により、前記微生物において 光合成に対する閃光作用が生じる請求項12に記載の方法。 14. 非曝露の累積時間の約10倍長い累積時間、前記可視光に前記微生物 を曝露する請求項13記載の方法。 15. さらに、乱流エネルギー散逸率εを10-3〜10W/kgに維持する ことを含むする請求項1に記載の方法。 16. 前記微生物塊を含む前記水系培地が前記チャンバーの総容量の約30 %〜90%に相当する請求項1に記載の方法。
