Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pigment capable of developing highly luminant gloss when used by its mixing with a coating material irrespective of asperities on the surface of the aluminum foil, by forming colored coating films on both surfaces of an aluminum foil followed by forming metallized film layers on the respective coating films. SOLUTION: Both sides of an aluminum foil base material 14.5-50μm thick are provided with colored coating films 2 followed by providing the respective colored coating films with metallized film layers 3 with the outer surface subjected to highly smoothing treatment (pref. aluminum metallized film layers) followed by pulverization. The colored coating film 2 is pref. a silver-colored coating film 0.22μm thick. Besides, when the colored coating film 2 is a black coating film 0.2-2μm thick and both the outer surfaces including the respective metallized film layers 3 are embossed, the pigment intermixed on a decorative coating film or printed surface flickeringly twinkles by virtue of irregularly reflective effect, affording unconventional metallic feeling having a black luster, therefore being favorable.

However, in the conventional aluminum fine particles, there is a problem in that only the colored coating film on the outer surface gives a metallic feeling, and further high glossiness is exhibited. There was room for improvement. That is, when manufacturing the aluminum foil as the base material, the material of the aluminum foil is rolled to a predetermined thickness by a rolling roll. The outer surface of the roll is frequently polished with a polishing roll to bring out the glossiness of the aluminum foil, but during the polishing, so-called grindstones of the polishing roll are formed on the outer surface of the roll. This causes fine irregularities to appear in the form of hairlines on the surface of the aluminum foil in the rolling step. Therefore, the smoothness of the aluminum foil, that is, the glossiness is hindered. In other words, the polishing treatment for imparting gloss to the aluminum foil is originally insufficient at present, which is a factor that hinders the gloss. Therefore, when a metallized film for giving a metallic feeling is directly formed on the aluminum foil, minute irregularities of the aluminum foil appear on the ultrathin metallized film, and the smoothness of the surface of the metallized film is obtained. And high glossiness could not be exhibited.

In the case of conventional aluminum fine particles, when the colored coating film is a dark color, for example, a black coating film, this masks the reflectivity of the aluminum foil, and it is difficult to obtain the original glittering appearance. .

Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a pigment capable of exhibiting high-brightness glossiness when used in a paint regardless of fine irregularities on the surface of an aluminum foil. Another object of the present invention is to provide a pigment which glitters and flashes when viewed from different angles on a decorative coating film, a printed surface, and a plastic molded product.

That is, according to the present invention, after a colored coating film 2 is formed on both front and back surfaces of a base material 1 made of aluminum foil, a metal deposition film layer 3 is formed on the outer surface of each colored coating film 2 respectively. It is formed by laminating, and the sheet is punched and cut into fine particles. On the surface of the substrate 1, fine irregularities 1a are formed in a hairline shape when the aluminum foil is rolled. Specifically, the substrate 1 is made of an aluminum foil having a thickness of 4.5 to 50 μm, and the colored coating 2 is made of a silver coating having a thickness of 0.2 to 2.0 μm. If the thickness of the colored coating film 2 is too small, the fine irregularities 1a on the surface of the base material 1 cannot be sufficiently filled, so that the thickness is 0.2 μm or more, more preferably 0.5 μm.
m or more, and if the thickness is too large, the substrate 1 is masked. Therefore, it is desired that the thickness be 2.0 μm or less. And the metal deposition film layer 3 is made of an aluminum deposition film. If the aluminum deposited film is too thin, the colored coating film 2 is emphasized and loses its significance, and if it is too thick, the masking function works too much.
By changing the thickness within the range of 5 to 300 °, the feeling can be arbitrarily changed. The particle size of the pigment itself can be set between 0.1 and 3.0 mm.

Alternatively, the colored coating film 2 may be a black coating film having a thickness of 0.2 to 2.0 μm, and in this case, the outer surfaces of the front and back surfaces including the metal vapor deposition film layers 3 are embossed in an uneven shape. It can be.

The coloring coating film 2 formed on the surface of the aluminum foil of the base material 1 fills the unevenness 1a of the aluminum foil surface even if the surface of the aluminum foil has fine irregularities 1a in the form of a hairline during rolling.
The surface of the colored coating film 2 is smoothed. Therefore, each colored coating film 2
The surface of the upper metal deposition film layer 3 is also smoothed to provide high-brightness glossiness. As a result, when the pigment of the present invention is mixed in a cosmetic coating film, a printing surface, and a plastic molded product, a metallic feeling in which the stars shine brightly in the night sky can be exhibited, and there is an advantage of increasing a sense of quality. . Metal deposited film layer 3
Is also useful for improving the weather resistance of the colored coating film 2.

Conversely, if the front and back surfaces of the pigment are embossed into irregularities, the mixed pigments will flicker in a flickering state due to the irregular reflection action. At this time, when viewed at different angles, only the color of the metallized film layer 3 on the surface appears to be reflected and glow white, while the colored film 2 is formed through the metallized film layer 3 to form a base. Some objects appear deeply lit against the background of the aluminum foil of material 1. When the colored coating film 2 is made black, it is advantageous because it gives a metallic feeling of black shine that could not be obtained conventionally.

The pigment (fine particles) thus obtained was mixed in a paint and baked and applied to the surface of a metal plate to form a decorative coating film. This pigment was mixed in the ink and printed on a thick paper base material. Further, this pigment was mixed into a plastic material to injection-mold a cosmetic compact. Those decorative coatings,
In the printed surface and the plastic molded product, the pigment of the present invention exhibited an appearance in which the pigment of the present invention glistened with high brightness and flickering. When the thickness of the metal deposited film layer 3 was small, the colored coating film 2 was seen through the substrate 1 as a background, and the glittering effect was emphasized as the thickness of the metal deposited film layer 3 was increased.
