Abstract

(57)【要約】 【課題】 本発明の課題は、グラフィックパスワードを
用いて、パスワードの解読を困難にするパスワード入力
方法を提供することである。 【解決手段】 この課題は、画面のグラフィックシンボ
ルを、コンピュータによって、ログオンごとに変化する
任意の画面位置において作成し、シンボルは、コンピュ
ータ内に保管された１つのコードに対する所定の割り当
てを有し、所定のシンボル列は全体でパスワードを表す
ことを特徴とする方法によって解決される。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、データ端末装置利
用者に対する、コンピュータシステムへのログオン方法
であって、パスワード入力をグラフィックシンボルの画
面位置での選択によって行う方法に関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】コンピュータシステムへのログオンに
は、通常、利用者名と利用者固有のパスワードとをキー
ボードを介して入力することが必要である。とはいえ、
このパスワード防御は充分なものではない。パスワード
は実際には、パスワード作成ルーチンを用いて、短時間
で解読することができる。その理由は人間の記憶にあ
る。すなわち、人間の記憶は、十分に構造化されたシー
ケンス、つまり意味のある言葉しか記憶できないからで
ある。様々な言語による辞書内容が使用されることによ
って、解読の可能性は非常に高くなってしまう。パスワ
ード質問は、実際には、現在のコンピュータネットへの
アクセスに対する唯一の防御手段である。一層安全なパ
スワード質問がシステムの防御のためにぜひとも必要で
ある。そのためパスワードは、もちろんどこにも書きと
めておくことはできず、しかも、長い時間が経過したの
ちにも再び使用できるような簡単な構造を有するもので
なければならない。システムの安全は、理想的なパスワ
ードはランダムな文字および／または数字の組み合わせ
であるべきだということを前提にしている。しかし、こ
のようなシーケンスを人間は記憶しておくことができな
い。
【０００３】パスワード入力の形式において、画面上に
英数字記号が表示されるものも公知である。正しいパス
ワードは、英数字記号を正しい順序でマウスを介してク
リックすることによって得られる。ただし、該システム
による場合には、不正な利用者が画面動作を観察するこ
とによってパスワードを解読してしまう可能性がいまだ
存在する。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明の課題は、グラ
フィックパスワードを用いて、パスワードの解読を困難
にするパスワード入力方法を提供することである。
【０００５】
【課題を解決するための手段】この課題は、画面のグラ
フィックシンボルを、コンピュータによって、ログオン
ごとに変化する任意の画面位置において作成し、シンボ
ルは、コンピュータ内に保管された１つのコードに対す
る所定の割り当てを有し、所定のシンボル列は全体でパ
スワードを表すことを特徴とする方法によって解決され
る。

【発明の実施の形態】本発明による、請求項１に記載さ
れた特徴部分を有するログオン方法は、これに対して、
次の利点を有する。すなわち、画面上に表示されたシン
ボルは、１つのログオン過程から次のログオン過程まで
の間に、位置を変える。このことは、不正な利用者がロ
グオン過程を観察することによってパスワードを解読す
ることができないという利点を有する。
【０００７】従属請求項において実施される手段によっ
て、請求項１に記載されたログオン方法の有利な別の実
施形態および改善が可能である。
【０００８】さらに有利には、コンピュータシステム
が、画面位置を任意な長さのコード列に割り当てること
ができる。この場合格別に有利には、パスワードは英数
字記号ではなく、グラフィック図形として表示されるこ
とができ、それによって、システムは言語領域に依存し
ないで作動する。このログオン方法によれば、中国語ま
たは日本語の文字を表示することも可能であり、また、
子供に格別に適しているグラフィック図形を表示するこ
ともできる。さらに有利には、求めるシンボルの正しい
クリックに、コンピュータによって形成されたクリック
音を重ねてカモフラージュし、パスワードシーケンスの
読み取りを困難にすることができる。パスワードの長
さ、つまりクリックされるグラフィックシンボルの数
は、システムによって定められる。このグラフィックシ
ンボル、または、シンボルの画面位置に割り当てられる
コード列は、任意の長さに定めることができる。
【０００９】有利な実施例においては、個々のグラフィ
ックシンボルの代わりに、映像表現を画面上に表示する
ことができる。

【実施例】本発明による実施例を図面にて示し、以下の
説明において詳細に説明する。
【００１１】コンピュータシステムへのログオンを、利
用者名をデータ端末装置に入力することによって開始す
る。システムは端末装置の画面上に、２次元に配置され
たウィンドウの１つを表示する。このウィンドウ内に、
シンボル、図形、または英数字記号も存在する。システ
ムは利用者にパスワードを入力するよう指示する。画面
上に表示された映像は、画面の解像度および大きさに応
じて、１００個までの様々なシンボルを含むことができ
る。その場合には、これらの図形が容易に認識可能であ
り、充分に識別特徴を有することが前提である。グラフ
ィックパスワードは、例えば一連の８個のシンボルから
なり、このシンボルは入力の際に、順序どおりに利用者
によって選択されなければならない。シンボルの選択
は、例えばマウスを用いたクリックによって行われる。
タッチスクリーンが使用される場合には、シンボルは画
面タッチによって選択される。１つのシンボルが選択さ
れるごとに、肯定応答としてクリック音が１つだけ伝送
され、選択されたシンボルの目下の数が示される。その
場合、シンボルを有する本来のグラフィックのウィンド
ウは変化しない。データ端末装置とコンピュータとの接
続回線を介して、マウスクリックのｘｙ位置だけが伝送
される。コンピュータ本体においてはじめて、前記位置
にテーブルを介して、これに属する識別信号が割り当て
られる。この識別信号は正しいパスワードを形成し、こ
のパスワードは通常の手段でコンピュータにおいて検討
される。例えば、誤試行の回数が定められ、または、３
回の誤試行後のパスワード入力閉鎖を定めることができ
る。パスワードシーケンスがｘｙデータのみによって定
められ、回線を介して伝送されることによって、データ
伝送回線の傍受によってパスワードを解読することはも
はや不可能となる。
【００１２】利用者が次の回にコンピュータシステムに
ログオンする場合には、ふたたびグラフィックシンボル
を有する画面が使用される。その場合、シンボルの数は
維持されたままであるが、ただし、これらのシンボルは
コンピュータによって別の順序で画面上に配置される。
１つのログオン過程から次のログオン過程までに位置変
更される際に、そのつどコンピュータにおいて、シンボ
ルのテーブル、ｘｙ位置のテーブル、識別信号のテーブ
ルがともに変更されなければならない。可能なパスワー
ド入力は図２に示されており、この図２の例において
は、同じようなシンボルが選択されている。この場合、
パスワードシーケンスは８個のシンボル、すなわち、４
個の“乳母車”、２個の“子供用自転車”、２個の“サ
イクリング車”からなっている。図形の順序に対するス
トーリーが記憶されるので、このようなパスワードシー
ケンスは人間の記憶に比較的容易にとどまる。さらに、
人間の記憶は、英数字記号よりも、映像の方がよく記憶
できる。グラフィックの記憶が脳裏に残りやすいという
利点を利用できるように、可能なパスワードは利用者に
よって定められなければならない。
【００１３】パスワードシーケンスを定める場合の選択
は、同様に、可能なシンボルのクリックによって行われ
る。これらのシンボルはすべて画面上に表示される。１
個のシンボルをクリックしたことに対する肯定応答とし
て１個のクリック音が形成され、選択されたシンボルの
目下の数が示される。
【００１４】別の実施例によれば、別の防御手段がコン
ピュータシステムでのログオンに対して使用される。こ
の防御手段においては、正しいシンボルがクリックされ
た場合のクリック音に加えて、システム自体によって一
連の音が形成される。これらの音は本来のログオン過程
に重なる。さらに、この形式および手段によれば、傍受
によってグラフィックシンボルの位置を導出することが
困難になる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 データ端末装置利用者に対する、コンピ
    ュータシステムへのログオン方法であって、 パスワード入力を画面位置でのグラフィックシンボル選
    択によって行う方法において、 画面のグラフィックシンボルを、コンピュータによっ
    て、ログオンごとに変化する任意の画面位置において作
    成し、 前記シンボルは、前記コンピュータ内に保管された１つ
    のコードに対する所定の割り当てを有し、所定のシンボ
    ル列は全体でパスワードを表すことを特徴とする方法。
  2. 【請求項２】 前記データ端末装置から前記コンピュー
    タへ、選択されたシンボルの位置を伝送する、請求項１
    記載の方法。
  3. 【請求項３】 前記コンピュータ内に保管され、１つの
    位置、ひいてはシンボルに対する識別信号は、任意の数
    の英数字記号を含むことができる、請求項１または２記
    載の方法。
  4. 【請求項４】 パスワードを表すシンボルの数を定める
    ことができる、請求項１または２記載の方法。
  5. 【請求項５】 前記シンボルの選択を、タッチスクリー
    ンのタッチを介して行う、請求項１から４までのいずれ
    か１項記載の方法。
  6. 【請求項６】 １個のシンボルをクリックしたことに対
    する肯定応答として１個のクリック音を形成し、シンボ
    ルの数をアップカウントする、請求項１から５までに記
    載の方法。
  7. 【請求項７】 前記シンボルを、英数字記号または図形
    から形成する、請求項１から６までに記載の方法。
  8. 【請求項８】 前記コンピュータシステムはクリック音
    を形成し、該クリック音はシンボルの正しいクリックに
    重なる、請求項１から７までに記載の方法。
