【請求項1】 コア屈折率分布を有するコアガラス領域と、前記コアガラス領域を包囲するとともにこれに接しクラッド屈折率分布を有する環状クラッドガラス層と、を含む低減衰となるように最適化されたシングルモード光導波路であって、
前記コア屈折率分布の少なくとも一部は、前記クラッド屈折率分布の少なくとも一部よりも大であり、
前記コアガラス領域は、
外側半径r 1 、相対屈折率Δ 1 %及び中心線を有する中央セグメントと、
前記中央セグメントを包囲するとともにこれに接し相対屈折率Δ 2 %を有する第1環状セグメントと、
前記第1環状セグメントを包囲するとともにこれに接し中心半径r 3 、相対屈折率Δ 3 %及び半分の相対屈折率点での幅w 3 を有する第2環状セグメントと、を含み、
前記コア屈折率分布及び前記クラッド屈折率分布は、
Δ 1 %>Δ 3 %>Δ 2 %なるΔ 1 %、Δ 2 %、Δ 3 %を有する少なくとも3つのセグメントを含み、
1575nmよりも大なるゼロ分散波長、
0.1ps/nm 2 −km未満の分散傾斜、
7.9μmよりも大なるモードフィールド直径となるように選択されていて、
前記コア屈折率分布は、
1550nmで0.203dB/km未満の減衰となるように選択されていることを特徴とするシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。
【請求項2】 1550nmで減衰が0.19dB/km以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。
【請求項3】 Δ 1 %は0.77%から1.30%までの範囲内にあって、r 1 は2.04μmから3.41μmの間にあって、Δ 2 %は0から0.16%までの範囲内にあって、Δ 3 %は0から0.51%までの範囲内にあって、r 3 は5.53μmから10.21μmの間にあって、w 3 は0から5.76μmの間にあることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載のシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。
【請求項4】 0.1ps/nm 2 −km以下の全分散傾斜、1500nm以下のカットオフ波長であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のうちの1に記載のシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。
【請求項5】 9.1μm未満のモードフィールド直径を有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のうちの1に記載のシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。
【請求項6】 ピン配列曲げ状態下で誘導される減衰によって定義付けられ、前記ピン配列曲げ減衰が8dB以下であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のうちの1に記載のシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。
【請求項7】 ゼロ分散波長が1575nmから1595nmまでの範囲内にあることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のうちの1に記載のシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。
【請求項8】 内側分布量及び外側分布量によって更に定義付けられ、前記内側分布量は約3.02単位、前記外側分布量は約3.9単位であって、前記範囲から選択された分布パラメータの組み合わせは1550nmで0.19dB/km以下の減衰を有するシングルモード導波路を与えることを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のうちの1に記載のシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。
【請求項9】 内側分布量及び外側分布量によって更に定義付けられ、前記内側分布量は2.67単位から3.62単位の範囲内にあって、前記外側分布量は1.00単位から7.85単位の範囲内にあって、前記範囲から選択された分布パラメータの組み合わせは1550nmで0.203dB/km以下の減衰を有するシングルモード導波路を与えることを特徴とする請求項1乃至8のうちの1に記載のシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。
【請求項1】 コア屈折率分布を有するコアガラス領域と、前記コアガラス領域を包囲するとともにこれに接しクラッド屈折率分布を有する環状クラッドガラス層と、を含む低減衰となるように最適化されたシングルモード光導波路であって、
前記コア屈折率分布の少なくとも一部は、前記クラッド屈折率分布の少なくとも一部よりも大であり、
前記コアガラス領域は、
外側半径r 1 、相対屈折率Δ 1 %及び中心線を有する中央セグメントと、
前記中央セグメントを包囲するとともにこれに接し相対屈折率Δ 2 %を有する第1環状セグメントと、
前記第1環状セグメントを包囲するとともにこれに接し中心半径r 3 、相対屈折率Δ 3 %及び半分の相対屈折率点での幅w 3 を有する第2環状セグメントと、を含み、
前記コア屈折率分布及び前記クラッド屈折率分布は、
Δ 1 %>Δ 3 %>Δ 2 %なるΔ 1 %、Δ 2 %、Δ 3 %を有する少なくとも3つのセグメントを含み、
1575nmよりも大なるゼロ分散波長、
0.1ps/nm 2 −km未満の分散傾斜、
7.9μmよりも大なるモードフィールド直径となるように選択されていて、
前記コア屈折率分布は、
1550nmで0.203dB/km未満の減衰となるように選択されていることを特徴とするシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。
【請求項2】 1550nmで減衰が0.19dB/km以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。
【請求項3】 Δ 1 %は0.77%から1.30%までの範囲内にあって、r 1 は2.04μmから3.41μmの間にあって、Δ 2 %は0から0.16%までの範囲内にあって、Δ 3 %は0から0.51%までの範囲内にあって、r 3 は5.53μmから10.21μmの間にあって、w 3 は0から5.76μmの間にあることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載のシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。

【請求項5】 9.1μm未満のモードフィールド直径を有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のうちの1に記載のシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。
【請求項6】 ピン配列曲げ状態下で誘導される減衰によって定義付けられ、前記ピン配列曲げ減衰が8dB以下であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のうちの1に記載のシングルモード光導波路ファイバ。
