Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy saving type fluorescent lamp appliance capable of lighting a fluorescent lamp with a parallel circuit of a 100 W incandescent lamp and a 30 μ F capacitor without using a choke coil in a ballast, soon after lighting, switching to an incandescent lamp circuit with a string switch to light both of the fluorescent lamp and incandescent lamp and with high brightness since the incandescent lamp is lit with electric power equivalent to the power loss of the choke coil. SOLUTION: A three step switching string switch is used, and a fluorescent lamp 6 is lit by pulling the string switch once. Soon after lighting, by pulling the string switch once, the fluorescent lamp 6 and incandescent lamps 2, 3 are lit. By furthermore pulling the string switch once, all the lamps are put out. This fluorescent lamp appliance is characterized by using no choke coil and using an electronic glow starter as the glow starter, but has such a disadvantage that the fluorescent lamp is damaged by high voltage generating at both ends of the capacitor.
