09mm、厚みが0.08乃至0.12mmであり、波形突
起を含む横分枝、及び、幅が0.09乃至0.12mm、
厚みが0.08乃至0.12mmの縦分枝から成る。
Description
(vascular stent)に関し、より具体的には、広い縦分
枝及び波形態(wave-form)の突起を含む狭い横分枝に
構成され、これら各々の分枝が稠密に分布された血管用
ステントに関する。
artery obstructive disease(CAOD))の場合、アテ
ロマトスプラク(atheromatous plaque)等により冠状
動脈、末梢血管等の人体内血管の狭窄が発生し、血流の
流れが低下されるとか、これによる激しい痛みや突然死
を起こすこともある。
合、治療方法には、次の三種類が知られている。一番目
は、血管移植の迂回術により血液の流れを円滑に維持さ
せる方法があるが、このような方法は、患者の痛みのみ
ではなく、恐怖を感じさせる問題がある。二番目は、狭
くなった血管に細いバルーンカテター(balloon cathet
er)を挿入し、狭窄された部位に固定させた後、バルー
ン拡張によって狭窄された部分を広げる新たな方法を提
示しているが、この方法は、痛みや恐怖感の問題をいく
らか解決したが、相変わらず、再狭窄発生率が70%を
越えると云う問題がある。三番目は、前記バルーンカテ
ターを用いた方法の問題である高い再狭窄率を改善する
ために、ステンレススチールの金属網ステント(sten
t)を狭窄血管に挿入、装着させ、通常の幅に血管を広
げることにより狭窄血管の治療及び正常的な血流の流れ
を維持させるステントを用いた方法が提示された。しか
しながら、このステントを用いた方法も、依然として、
痛みや高い再狭窄発生率の未解決の問題を残しており、
金属網ステント(stent)は柔軟性が足りなく、屈曲し
ている部位の血管への適用は困難であるとの新たな問題
が生じ、これに対する改善が望まれている。

枝や波形態の突起を含む狭い横分枝に構成され、それぞ
れの分枝が縦方向に稠密に分布されており、平たい形態
にさせることができる柔軟性のある血管用ステントを提
供することにある。
者等が鋭意研究した結果、本発明の血管用ステントを完
成するに至った。本発明の血管用ステントは、幅が0.
05乃至0.09mm、厚みが0.08乃至0.12mmで
あり、波形突起を含む横分枝、及び、幅が0.09乃至
0.12mm、厚みが0.08乃至0.12mmの縦分枝か
ら成ることを特徴とし、前記横分枝の単位長さが1.0
乃至3.0mm、縦分枝の単位長さが1.5乃至4.5mm
から成り、前記ステントが、直径が1.0乃至5.75
mm、及び、長さが9乃至60mmから成ることを特徴とし
ている。前記構成の本発明の血管用ステントは、広い縦
分枝や狭い横分枝に構成されていることによって、平た
い形態にすることができるし、横分枝内の波形態の突起
を含むことによって、血管内の血流の流れに影響を及ぼ
さなくて再狭窄率を減らすことができる。また、柔軟性
が顕著に改善され、屈曲している血管部位に装着しやす
いのみではなく、分枝の間隔を従来より稠密にすること
によって、血管の高圧に対し血管を充分に拡張させ、そ
の状態を維持することができる。
トの一実施形態を、図1乃至図5を参照してより具体的
に説明する。本発明の一実施形態の血管用ステントは、
横分枝及び縦分枝で構成される。この内、横分枝は、幅
0.05乃至0.09mm、厚み0.08乃至0.12mm
であり、波形態の突起を含む。又、縦分子は、幅0.0
9乃至0.12mm、厚み0.08乃至0.12mmであ
る。

ススチール材質の横分枝(1)や縦分枝(2)で構成さ
れる。 この内、横分枝(1)は、0.3乃至0.8mm
程度の高さの波形態の突起を含んでいる。このような波
形態の突起(3)は、本実施形態によるステントが血管
に適用されるとき、優れた柔軟性を有することができる
ようにする。

枝(2)は、幅0.09乃至0.12mm、厚み0.08
乃至0.12mmに成っている。このようなステントを、
狭窄された血管内部に適用する場合、その厚みが0.0
8乃至0.1mmであるので十分に薄く、正常的な血流の
流れに影響を及ぼさないし、従って、血栓が生じると血
管が再狭窄されて疾患が再発するのを防止することがで
きる。さらに、上記のような横分枝(1)と縦分枝
(2)との間の幅差は、前記の波形態の突起とともに血
管用ステントの柔軟性を改善しており、本実施形態によ
るステントを屈曲している狭窄血管の内部に適用するの
を容易にする。

乃至3.0mm、縦分枝(2)間の間隔を1.5乃至4.
5mmとして分枝間の間隔を稠密にするのが好ましい。
用ステントは、血管と同じ形態である。前記ステントを
狭窄された血管に挿入する前、適切な直径及び長さを有
するバルーンカテター(Balloon Catheter)を内部に装
着する。 ステントを血管に挿入した後、前記のバルー
ンを血管の内径程に拡張して狭窄された血管の内壁に付
着させることにより、狭窄された部位を元の状態に戻し
て、一層の再狭窄を防ぐことができる。
を製造した好ましい一実施例を示したもので、横分枝
(1)は2.25mm、縦分枝(2)は2.0mmのサイズ
に成っている。また、図4は、図3の実施例の一部を拡
大し、ステントの構造と大きさをより具体的に図示した
ものであり、図5は、横分枝(1)と縦分枝(2)の幅
が相異なることを示した最終ステントの部分拡大写真で
ある。

血管用ステントを提供するものである。また、本発明に
よる血管用ステントを、冠状動脈の狭窄患者や末梢血管
の狭窄患者に適用する場合、元の血管に戻して血流の流
れを正常にさせ、特に分枝血流の流れを邪魔しないの
で、血管内の再狭窄率が顕著に減少し、症状の再発の憂
慮を少なくできる。更に、ステント自体が柔軟性を有す
るから血管内の屈曲している部位により容易に適用する
ことができるのみでなく、分枝間の間隔が稠密なのでス
テントの維持力をより改善させることによって、高圧状
態の狭窄された血管を十分に拡張させ、その状態を維持
することができる。

- 【請求項1】 幅が0.05乃至0.09mm、厚みが
0.08乃至0.12mmであり、波形突起を含む横分
枝、及び、幅が0.09乃至0.12mm、厚みが0.0
8乃至0.12mmの縦分枝から成ることを特徴とする血
