Abstract
1415073 Blood bags UNION CARBIDE CORP 13 March 1973 [14 March 1972] 12030/ 73 Heading A5R [Also in Division B8] A container for fluids made of transparent plastics film includes a sealed compartment 21 containing a label 23 having a pressuresensitive surface capable of producing indicia in response to marking pressures applied thereto through the film exteriorly of the container. The label 23 may have surface-encapsulated indelible ink. The container is formed by transversely sealing a section of tubular film which may be produced by extrusion or by folding and seaming a sheet. In one embodiment transverse seals 17, 19 define the label compartment 21, and the transverse seal 19 and a further transverse seal 25 define a compartment for the contents of the container. This compartment includes filling and venting tubes 29, 31 which may be closed by plugs or clamps. In a further embodiment the container includes two separate compartments.
