PURPOSE: Cephalosporins I (R1 is heterocyclic group, lower alkyl substituted with heterocyclic group; R2 is H, lower alkyl; A is H, OH, lower alkanoyloxy, basic N-containing group, qurternary ammonium group, N-substituted- or nonsubstituted-carbamoyloxy, etc.; M is H, lower alkyl, aralkyl, etc.; n is 1,2,3); e. g. 7-(2-thienylsulfonylacetamido)-3-(1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-ylthiomethyl)-3cephem-4-carboxylic acid sodium salt.
