Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep a scroll-formed chamber hermetic, by effectively pressing the swivel scroll to the fixed scroll.
CONSTITUTION: A disc 8 which also functions as a balancing weight is fitted through a bearing 7 to the anti-lap side of an end plate 1b of swivel scroll 1, and a push plate 15 composed of four split pieces 15b, 15c, 15d, 15e and spring among the pieces is fitted between the disc 8 and a driving plate 14. The revolution of a driving shaft 13 is transmitted through the driving plate 14 and pins 17 to the disc 8 and the swivel scroll 1 revolves through a bearing 9 around the center of a fixed scroll 2 to provide a designed compression. The push plate 15 revolves being interlocked to the driving plate 14 and the split pieces transfer outward due to the centrifugal force, and an axial force is given through the disc 8 to the swivel scroll 1 to press against the fixed scroll 2 effectively.
