Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the safety at night for a vehicle by switching the intensity of illumination of an automotive lamp automatically in response to the vehicle speed to secure the visual field in response to the vehicle speed.
CONSTITUTION: when a vehicle runs at certain speed, a rotary magnet 14 is rotated to open or close a reed switch 10 for generating a pulse signal, which is passed through an AND gate 11 only for predetermined time according to the output from a unit gate signal ganerator 12 to be counted by a counter 13 to thereby detect the vehicle speed. This signal is fed to a vehicle speed discriminator 12 to operate any one of vehicle speed discrimination comparators 201 to 203 in response to the vehicle speed to thereby output a pulse signal corresponding to the input from the control signal generators 301 to 303. This output conducts a transistor T via a controller 4 to turn the lamp 5 ON under the control signal as shown in response to the vehicle speed under controlled intensity of illumination.
