Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the maneuverability of a manipulator by moving a chessman shaft while making contact at the end with the chessman shaft over the entire moving area and providing two levers crossing perpendicularly with one another, and a lever displacement detector.
CONSTITUTION: When a chessman moves on an operation table (not shown) and the moving area 13 of a chessman shaft 12 projected downwardly under the table is located within a circular dotted broken line frame, X and Y levers 14, 15 are disposed at the ends thereof perpendicularly in the area 13, and rotatably secured to a machine bed 18 at the other via pins 16, 17. Strings 21, 22 are bound at the ends at the middle between the X and Y levers 14 and 15, and wound at the other on the rotary shafts 25, 26 of the respective encoders 23, 24, respectively on the midway. Then, the strings are connected to the other ends of tension coil springs 29, 30 secured to supporting pins 27, 28, respectively.
