Abstract

PURPOSE: To uniformly cool effectively electric windings by improving the cooling fluid flow in horizontal cooling passages among respective winding units and restricting the local temperature increase of the windings.
CONSTITUTION: Controllers 15 for reducing sectional area of inside and outside vertical cooling passages 6, 7 are disposed at twice the pitches of the winding unit pitch at the position corresponding to the end of the winding units 1 within at least one of the passages 6, 7. Thus, it can effectively uniformly cool the respective horizontal cooling passages 5 formed by the cooling fluid flowing through the inside and outside vertical cooling passages 6, 7 and flow controllers 15 in the winding units 1 disposed between the inside and the outside insulating columns 3 and 4. Since the cooling fluid flowing in the passages 5 faces between the upper and the lower surfaces of the units 1, it can uniformly cool the winding units.
