Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the condensation or radiation capacity of a heat exchanger, by blasting mist flow containing micro droplets in the gravitational direction toward the heat exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: Mist flow is blasted in the gravitational direction (straight downward) toward a heat exchanger 2 as a condensor or radiator. A liquid film 8 formed on the surface of a nest of pipes 1 composing the heat exchanger 2 is thin and stable if the absolute value of an angle θ from the stagnation point A against the mist flow in the gravitational direction is within a range of below 60 degrees, and its evaporation is accelerated. Since the thin film is formed even at a stagnation point where the local heat transmission ratio is the highest, evaporation is much promoted. The liqud film is formed as liquid drops 9 on the heat transmitting surface for evaporation, even when the sbsolute value of the angle θ is larger than 90 degrees. As the ratio of area covered with the thin and stable liquid film to the entire heat transmitting area increases and the heat transmitting capacity is markedly improved, the condenser or radiator used in the air conditioner can be compact in size.
