Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a pyrimidine derivative useful as pesticides, pharmaceuticals, etc., by reacting trithiocyclopropenium salt with an amine selected from urea, thiourea and amidines.
CONSTITUTION: A pyrimidine derivative of formula III (R1 is hydrocarbon group, heterocyclic group; R3 is H, hydrocarbon group, amino, alkoxy, thioalkoxy, OH, mercapto) is prepared by reacting a trithiocyclopropenium salt of formula I (X- is anion) with an amine selected from urea, thiourea, and amidines of formula II (R2 is H, hydrocarbon group, amino, alkoxy, thioalkoxy), in a solvent such as CH2Cl2, CHCl3, etc., in the presence of metal alkoxide such as t-butoxy potassium, etc., at 0W100°C for 0.5W5 hours.
