Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the title catalyst which can remove NOx in the presence of NH3 in a low temp. range and has high resistance to ammonium sulfate type by- products by adding Y and/or La oxides and one or more kinds of Fe, Cu and Mn cpds. to V and Ti oxides as main components in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The catalyst consists of 0.5-50 wt% of a V oxide such as V2O5 and 2-99 wt% of a Ti oxide such as TiO2 as maincomponents and the following second and third components: 0.1-50, esp. 0.5-10 wt% of a Y oxide such as Y2O3 and/or a La oxide such as La2O3 to the amt. of the main components and 0.01-5 wt% of one or more kinds of cpds. selected from Fe cpds. such as Fe2O3, Cu cpds. such as CuO and Mn cpds. such as MnO2. This catalyst is capable of denitrating exhaust gas even in such a low temp. range as about 200 deg.C, and it can be regenerated by heating to 350-450 deg.C when poisoned, lowering its activity.
