Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a step motor driving controller compact, by coupling a shifting circuit between a controller and a plurality of step motors and performing no-current shifting. CONSTITUTION:The shifting circuit EX consisting of contactors 44-49 is coupled between a power converter A and the step motors B1, B2. The shifting circuit EX and the power converter A are controlled by the controller DFC. In generating a shifting instruction for changing the step motors B1, B2 to be energized by the power converter A, the controller DFC generates a no-current instruction to eliminate the load current of the power converter A for a predetermined time. After the no-current shifting of the shifting switches 44-49 is effected, the no-current instruction is eliminated. The plural step motors are driven and controlled by the common power converter A. Thus, the pulse motor driving controller is made compact.
