Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a tightening machine which feeds exactly and stops a band fed to and at predetermined stopping position by desengaging a hammer latch imparted with rotating tendency by a spring tension enlarged by utilizing the weak strength at the end of the band.
CONSTITUTION: A band 2 is surrounded around an article 1 to be packaged and placed on a table 40 through a band guide frame 4 and welded at the superimposed portions thereof to be thus tightened. A stopper member 8 is disposed under the table 40 to make contact with the end of the band fed into the frame 4. An amplifying unit composed of a dropout arm 11, a hammer 14, etc. amplifies mechanically the force of the end of the band making contact with the member 8. A stopper member 6 is operated by the amplified strength to stop a band feeding unit 5. A grasping member 34 holds the end of the band in cooperation with the table 40. The opening member 65 is released from the band passage via an inlet gate 39, an outlet gate 38, and the member 8 located at the band passage.
