Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a fiber-board having shade pattern, by applying a small amount of an aqueous emulsion paint to the embossed surface of a wet mat composed of a hydraulic binder and fibre.
CONSTITUTION: A wet mat prepared from an aqueous slurry of (A) a hydraulic binder such as Portland cement, water-soluble resin, etc., and (B) fiber such as mineral fiber (e.g. asbstos fiber), is embossed with a press, etc. The embossed mat is sufficiently moistened, and coated with an aqueous emulsion paint such as acrylic resin paint. The hardening of the hydraulic binder and the film-forming of the paint are accelerated by placing the board in a hot and humid atmosphere. It is top-coated, if necessary, to obtain the objective fiber-board.
