Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to transmit either of digital signals and analogue signals by providing a luminous element at one output of a differential circuit in the luminous element driving circuit.
CONSTITUTION: Transistors Tr2 and Tr3 form a differential circuit, and Tr1 constitutes a current source. When the base voltage of Tr2 and Tr3 is set to a value which can be approximated by IC2=αIC1, IC2 is proportinal to base voltage VD1 of Tr1. Consequently, luminous element LED can be driven without distortion by applying analogue signals to the base of Tr1. Otherwise, when difference VD3-VD2 between base voltages of Tr2 and Tr3 is set to a large value in the positive direction, Tr2 becomes a break state, so that digital signals can be transmitted by utilizing this state.
