Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify construction and reduce manufacturing cost by sucking dust containing air in the tangential direction between a grounded cylindrical casing and an accelerating electrode pipe contained in the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Dust containing air is sucked through the suction port of a charger 3, where it is positively charged and then it is introduced into a casing 1. As the suction port 2 is arranged tangentially to the inside of the casing 1, air goes down to the lower end of an accelerating electrode pipe 6 turning round between the casing 1 and an opposing electrode 4. While going down, positively charged dust is drawn and sticked to the casing 1 electrically and mechanically and cleaned air alone passes through the accelerating electrode pipe 6 and is exhausted from an exhaust port 10. By removing a cover 7 and the accelerating electrode pipe 6, the casing 1 alone is left and dust sticked to the casing 1 can be removed easily.
