Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a water-soluble remoistening adhesive having mot-melt properties, and composed mainly of a copolymer of vinyl acetate and a monomer selected from an olefin sulfonic acid, a carboxyl-containing monomer, an amide-containing monomer, and N-vinylpyrrolidone.
CONSTITUTION: An adhesive mainly composed of a copolymer (or a saponified copolymer) of (a) 99.9W80 mol% of vinyl acetate and (b) 0.1W20 mol% of a copolymerizable monomer selected from an olefin sulfonic acid, its alkali metal salt, a carboxy-containing monomer, an amide-containing monomer and N-vinylpyrrolidone. The olefin sulfonic acid is, e.g. allylsulfonic acid, sulfonic acid malate, etc., and the amide-containing monomer is, e.g. N-methylol acrylamide, acrylamide alkyl sulfonic acid alkali metal salt, etc.
