Abstract

PURPOSE: An elastomer emulsion composition that is composed of a polymerization product from urethane prepolymer containing mono(meth)acrylate of polyoxyalkylene glycol and ethylenically unsaturated monomers, thus being good in flexibility, resistance to solvents, weathering, and properties following up the deformation of the base material.
CONSTITUTION: Said emulsion compostion comprises a polymerization product from (A) 3 W 50 wt% of a urethane prepolymer with unsaturated groups obtained by the reactions of an aliphatic or alicyclic polyisocyanate having 2 or more isocyanate groups with a monoacrylate or monomethacrylate of polyoxyalkylene glycol and (B) 97 W 50 wt% of ehylenically unsaturated monomers copolymerizable with component (A). The polyisocyanate is, e.g., tetramethylenediisocyanate or an adduct of a compound with 2 or more active hydrogens to an aliphatic polyisocyanate.
