Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain the air permeability of a disc beake and to protect the rotor surface of the brake against dusts and muddy water by providing curved portions at the radially peripheral portions of the rotor of a dust cover for the disc brake oppositely to the rotor direction.
CONSTITUTION: A dust cover 28 secured via bolts 29 to stationary member 11 for protecting the rotating surface of a rotor 10 rotating with a wheel 16 consists of first curved portion 30 curved in rotor 10 direction at the radially peripheral portion of the rotor 10 and second curved portion 31 curved in opposite direction to the rotor 10. Air once makes contact with the second curved portion 31 as designated by a solid line to cool the rotor 10, but dusts and muddy water are obstructed at the curved portions 30, 31 as designated by broken lines with arrows to prohibit to adhere onto the surface of the rotor 10.
