PURPOSE:To enhance the accuracy of a branching mixer for optical transmission and make its constitution simple by cutting a focusing type fiber lens to about half in parallel to its central axis and providing interference filters on the cut faces thereof at each 1/2 period length. CONSTITUTION:When the mixed light composed of three mutually different wavelengths lambda1, lambda2, lambda3 is entered from the end face of an optical fiber lens 1 to the incident end face 22 of a deformed focusing type fiber lens 16, the mixed light is bent of its optical path to sine wave form and focuses at the position 17 of nearly 1/4 period length from the incident end face 22 and at the same time enters an interference filter 13. Here, only the light of the wavelength lambda1 transmits through the interference filter 13 and emits to the outside of the deformed focusing type fiber lens 16. Following to this, only the light of the wavelength lambda2 transmits through an interference filter 14 is the position 18 of a 1/2 period length from the position 17. Next, the light of the wavelength lambda3 transmits through an interference filter 15 in the position 19. In this way, the simple branching mixer of high accuracy is obtainable.
