Abstract
PURPOSE: A moldable ring opening polymer composition having improved oxidation stability, weatherability, and heat resistance, comprising a ring opening polymer of a norbornene derivative, having a polar group and metaboric acid.
CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising (A) 100 parts by wt. of a ring opening polymer of a norbornene derivative (N) having a polar group or a ring opening copolymer of N with a cycloolefin and (B) 0.1W100 parts by wt., preferably 5.0W 70 parts by wt. of metaboric acid. 5-Cyano-bicyclo [2.2.1]-heptene-2, N, N-dimethyl-bicyclo [2.2.1]-heptene-2-carboxamide-5, etc. may be cited as the norbornene derivative. As for metaboric acid, any one of the three types of crystals may be used.
