Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the threading work of next paper to be wound by calculating the final rewinding diameter of an unwinder of a paper machine and automatically stopping the machine in the state that predetermined amount of paper is left thereon without winding all the paper to be wound in high accuracy.
CONSTITUTION: An arithmetic unit 103 calculates the diameter of a paper coil from the outputs of the number of pulses (the number of revolutions) of an unwinder pulse oscillator 101 and the output of a winding speed setting potentiometer 1RH provided on the rotary shaft of an unwinder (not shown) to produce its output to an arithmetic unit 104. The arithmetic unit 104 also receives the number of pulse outputs from a winder mounting oscillator 14 to thereupon calculate the thickness of the paper. The arithmetic unit 104 utilzes the result from the arithmetic unit 104 and thereupon calculates the residual length and limit diameter of the paper sequentially and compares the result with the set value from a residual paper length setting potentiometer 102 at a relay amplifier 105. The relay amplifier 105 energizes a relay Ry by the output therefrom to thereby switch a deceleration start signal and a zero point detector 21 to stop the machine in the state that predetermined amount of paper is residued on the unwinder.
