Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare an aqueous polymer dispersion in which the dispersed particles have desired ionic properties, by reacting specific ethylenic unsaturated monomer with an organic thiol compound in the presence of a catalyst, followed by adding and polymerizing specific amount of an ethylenic unsaturated monomer.
